When a character who's been gravely ill or injured is judged to now be 'strong enough' to be permitted to go outside- bundled warmly in extra layers and a scarf and perhaps a blanket to keep them from catching chill, escorted out to sit in the sun and fresh air that will do them good but cautioned not to overtax themselves.

something about a caretaker undressing their sickee always gets me. like, i don’t know. how vulnerable do you have to be to let someone take your clothes off? i mean this in the sweetest, non-lascivious way. his fever made him sweat through his shirt and he’s too delirious and/or weak to take it off himself, but caretaker sees him in his damp mess and is compelled to take matters into their own hands.
they’ve bled through their day clothes and are too pained to even move an inch, so caretaker will help them into something fresh.
like that. That’s what i mean.

my unpopular whump opinion is i can’t stand whumpee/whumper plots. like the ones that are just about torture and nothing else. i can stand them if there’s reprieve and care at the end. if the whumper parts are not the main focus of the story. i need the hurt to come WITH the comfort! at least at some point!!

Whumpee getting so close to mustering the courage to ask Caretaker for comfort, hovering outside their door in indecision before deciding they don't deserve it and slinking away again
Bonus points if this happens multiple times before Caretaker opens their door in time to find them standing there and immediately welcomes them in

A character so exhausted/ill/out of it they're only able to be partially roused- still responsive enough not to be wholly unconscious but answering with only mumbles and the occasional groan to questions; eyelids that only briefly flutter open to reveal a hazy gaze beneath; able to drink and swallow but having to be coaxed through every sip; not entirely a deadweight to manipulate but able to offer only passive assistance to actually moving and unable to actively support themselves; needing to be constantly pestered and prodded while being cared for otherwise they'll slip back into a stupour.

An injured character being lifted and moved by many sets of hands at once, all coordinating together how to support various portions of the limp form and lay them down smoothly, the injured character almost obscured by the cluster of people surrounding them.

another great ship dynamic is "characters who are deeply traumatized and haunted by nightmares are finally able to get a peaceful night of sleep in each other's arms"

Always been a fan of someone else having to inform another person that the person they’re wanting to see isn’t feeling great. Obviously they have to end up coming inside to see them all sick too… maybe they’re delivering an important message that really can’t wait.
Or they just really care about that sickie and want to take care of them the instant their housemate told them they were will. Hell yeah.
Partner of whumpee coming over to whumpee's place and their sibling/roommate etc lets them know that whumpee is 'sick in bed'... that phrase LIVES IN MY HEAD
especially when it's used so literally- when the partner walks into whumpee's room, they're passed out beneath the thickest duvet they have, shivering intermittently and just looking AWFUL
