Cloak was obviously lying, seeing as he had a substantial crush on Heartren. He had no idea how to admit it to the neko, so he would be really scared and embarrassed if anyone else found out.

“You’re lost in this world. Wandering without a purpose.”
“I… don’t even know what my purpose will be. I’m just a little kid wandering around a tiny neighbourhood, trying to stay… hidden.” Cloak knew that he had hardly talked to people. That’s a cause of him being rather anxious about the idea of engaging into conversations with those around him. Some might say he’d feel more comfortable in a different neighbourhood.

*Squishes Cloak's cheeks* "Who's a cutie patootie? Yes you are, yes you are!"
The squishing of Cloak’s cheeks caused him to shake, since he was slightly uncomfortable with the sudden affection. It wasn’t because of the person who was doing this, but rather himself disliking being touched without permission. This could be noticed by very small body tremors. And not to mention his face had become darker from embarrassment, due to being called cute.
