Throwback to that time in Nepal where it felt so good to be isolated alone on a trail in the middle of nowhere. I’d purposefully take a few seconds here and there to fall behind our trail tribe to be by myself, stay perfectly still and listen to the soft sounds of nature’s mixtape: the birds chirping their morning tune, the prayer flags of each suspension bridge caressed by the soft breeze, the sound of the same breeze whipping wistfully through the long grass. It felt good to be alone and for once to be ok with it.

The Barbarians ascended staircase after staircase, spurred on in pursuit of a bigger cause. Each rocky step handcrafted by the local Nepalese, it was easy to appreciate the countless hours of hard work that went into crafting the path so that foreigners like us could forge ahead, onward and upward into the bright blue abyss above.
