One of the funniest things to me about boardgames as a hobby is that everyone knows board games, as in everyone knows monopoly/life/catan/etc, so basically everyone is interested when you say you boardgame as a hobby, but far fewer people are Into Boardgames. It results in both a funny little song and dance in conversations where you try to figure out if someone likes boardgames or Likes Boardgames, and it means that, sometimes, you think someone Likes Boardgames and they don't and you end up saying absolutely unhinged shit to them like "it's basically a competitive logic puzzle" or "the second meanest two-player game about growing trees" or "route planning but also you can reverse the direction of time"

Plant of the Day
Friday 20 October 2023
The tree Platycarya strobilacea was described in the early 1840s from herbarium material collected by a German physician and natural scientist, Philipp von Siebold, whilst on a visit to Japan. The rigid cone-like structures are the female flowers which as they mature turn from bright green to brown.

Okay I am home again I shall tell you what I did last week
SOCIALISED EVERY DAY IT SUCKED
WEDNESDAY - SOCIALISED DND FRIENDS
THURSDAY - GOT ALL MY FINGERS AND TOES ULTRASOUNDED IT WAS GOOPY AND DISGUSTING
I NEARLY KICKED A NICE ULTRASOUND TECH BUT HE PUT GOOP ON MY TOES AND TOUCHED MY FEET
I HAVE PUNTED PEOPLE ACROSS ROOMS FOR LESS
ALSO LIKE 30 X-RAYS I AM SO RADIOACTIVE
AND THEN!
WATERFALLS
EVERY
FUCKING
DAY
FRIDAY TO WEDNESDAY
AT LEAST ONE A DAY USUALLY 2-3
ALSO AN ARBORETUM AND CURSED ASS BOTANICAL GARDENS AND MY MOST FAVOURITE LONELY CLIFFS
I walked SO MUCH and did a CAVE TOUR that I had to sign a WAIVER for that specifically said “Hey Brit you Personally Specifically with your Leg And Back Pain Should Not Do This we reserve the right to Tell You Not To”
But I DID IT and look how COOL IT WAS
Large rocks make me very happy
Tbh took more pics of forests and rocks than I did of the waterfalls
It was lots of walking and hiking and scrambling up and helping my poor partner who was not born on hiking trails and cliff sides up and over things
Also the goddamn trailer leaked all over the bed on my side and sister didn’t fucking close the roof vents before leaving it for a day and a half of rain before we arrived
So sleeping did not so much happen but ADVENTURE DID
