☆ Day 6: Windstepping 

You have 5 minutes to draw/write/create something Zesty-related; post what you have after 5 minutes. No cheating!

Rose took her jobs very seriously. Both as the Sparrowfeather leader and the Shepeherd.  ANd what best way to make money while boosting seraphim worship? Make a sweets restaurant with seraphim bakers of course! People will come from everywhere to see invisible chefs make them blessed cakes and ice cream. It was the percfect idea she exclaimed to no one in particular while rubbing her hands together. 

But who to hire to make the food. Easy, she thought with a snap of her fingers, the Normins! Cute, numerous, very efficient. And the best pressure- ahem she meant paymentfor it?

The priviledge to have Lailah tasting all the sweets!

Yes. It was the perfect plan. She set everythin up, had clients showing up in a hurry. A succerss!

Esxcept food wasn’t coming, and people were getting imaptient. What the hell those little fuckers were doing to her business?

She opens the kitchen door to see 49 tiny plsuh like being fighting to be the first to feed Lailah. Uh. Okay. 

Plan B. Time to catch a certain water seraphim…

The Voice Calling at the Bottom of the Fire

The fire hasn't died, not once since the fateful night Sorey and Mikleo left Elysia.

Zenrus takes a long drag on his pipe, the fire in his house a comforting light in those dark hours.

It always burned gently, when the Elysians gathered to eat. Their human child might have been away, but they simply couldn’t let go of the family tradition. Even without Sorey they would have to be careful the prickleboar population wouldn’t increase.

“If not, Elysia will come to be known as prickleboar Forest in no time at all!” Loanna had said.

They ate, sitting around the fire, wondering what the boys were up to. Were they eating correctly? Were they resting somewhere safe? Would they stay away from hellions like they had taught them? Sometimes the conversation would die out in a heavy silence, and the fire would sizzle louder, sending sparks flying above as if trying to cheer the Seraphim. Lawrence chuckled lightly, carefully placing another log under the cauldron.

“Remember the first time Mason cooked for the boys? It was so bad Sorey wouldn’t stop crying!”

And they laughed, hearts a little lighter, recalling precious memories.

Zenrus takes another drag.

The fire would always feel warmer when Natalie was sitting close.

It crackled with excitement when Mikleo and Sorey came back with the Squire, when they stayed all night chatting with Zenrus. And it gave off quite the nostalgic warmth when they fall asleep next to Zenrus, just like when they were little, Sorey somehow managing to trap Mikleo between his arms and the blanket. The old seraph had carded his wrinkled fingers through his precious children’s hair, heart soaring. Some things never changed.

The light never dies out.

Zenrus stands, tapping his pipe in the fireplace, emptying ashes. He walks toward a drawer to retrieve an old letter and reverently places it with the pipe on the bookshelf before opening the front door.

One last glance at his family sheltered in the house, the last rampart between the suffocating Malevolence creeping into their precious Elysia. The wood inside the fire cracks, like a last goodbye. Zenrus nods.

No matter what happens once he reaches Camlann, he trusts Mason’s light to keep everyone safe and hopeful until Mikleo and Sorey come home.

Fifty shade of straight bullshit AU. Let's call it  "Mr. Shepherd will see you in the library".

Sorey is the son of some rich CEO dude. People love him. He's all handsome and charming, and yet mysterious cause he never talked about himself. The truth is Sorey hold a terrible secret...

Enter Mikleo. The nephew/assistant of the most influential archaeologist of the country. Sorey is immediately smitten and wants to get closer to the boy. But he shouldn't. Surely Mikleo would be disgusted if he were to discover the truth about him...

Despite all his efforts Sorey can't fight the attraction and keep meeting with Mikleo. It doesn't help they have a lot of thing in common. 

Eventually one day they stand in front of Sorey’s secret chamber. Sorey can't fight it. Mikleo needs to know. 

He open the door to reveal a huge library filled with old books and   artifacts. Sorey’s secret kink is out: he's massively turned on by the smell of old books.

Mikleo is silent. 

Horreur et Damnation. Sorey wants to dig a hole right here and die. But then Mikleo push him in the room, lock the door and ride him all night long.

Turns out they're both very gay and very passionate about history.

For her Winter Moon AU <3 

She only shared the very beginning so far, so I do not actually KNOW what their clothes look like in this AU, but asking would kinda have ruined the surprise, lol.

So basically I fused their canon designs with some old, at this point probs never-to-be-used-again OC designs of mine. In many aspects, ToZ really called me out on my own writing from back then; not because they’re similar, objectively they’re really not, but ToZ made me acutely aware of some of my favourite pop culture tropes which I had used.

In a way it feels like I have come full circle.

Back on fruits basket AU option 3 and I can’t stop thinking about how many times Mikleo would die in this AU.

Like imagine, Sorey being so happy and excited for whatever reason he forgets about the curse and hugs Mikleo at school. Death 1. 

Turns into a dog and falls on top of Mikleo. Death 2. 

Somehow turns back human and woops here’s a very naked Sorey still on top of the Meebo. Death 3. 

Sorey get up before he can transform again and put back his clothes. Someone walk on them before Sorey can properly close his pants and shirt. Death 4. 

Also having to deal with your feelings and desire when the one you love turns into your phobia must be quite disturbing. Poor Meebo would have a hard time.

Happy fourth @tozanniversary !

My contribution for today’s prompt will follow later, for the moment here’s my answers to the ask game.

How did you get into ToZ?

Exactly on the first day of 2015 because of this gif set.

Truth be told, I’m not a tales fan, I had only played Symphonia on gamecube (which is one of my favorite game btw) but had no interest for the rest of the franchise, and Zestiria didn’t make exception despite the few pictures I had stumbled upon while the game was still in development. Actually those pictures made me think it would be a generic jrpg with a dumb protagonist and an awful love triangle, there was absolutely no appeal there xD I coudn’t be more wrong.

And then I saw the gif set. The boys aesthetic was pleasing to look at so I watched the full oav, then I read about the game and then I learned there was dragons in it and everything was lost.

I’ve been living into the zesty pit ever since, and there’s no way out. Not that I want one, it’s all nice and comfy down here.

Favourite character to PLAY as?

Sorey, because he's the easiest to play with. Sometimes I switch for Lailah cause her fighting style is pretty, and I played the whole Alisha dlc as Rose.

Favourite location in the game?

Elysia, Lastonbell, Airfread's hunting grounds, Cambria caverns, all 4 elemental trial shrines.

Favourite party setup?

Sorey-Mikleo, Rose-Lailah, because though I adore the whole party those four are my faves. I tend to switch seraph whenever it feels appropriate though, like pairing Sorey with the seraph corresponding to the trial shrine.

Personal grade record?

Don’t be fooled, this is all because the NG+ grade shop makes chaos mode super easy to go through. I normally suck at video games, I can never dodge or guard to save my life so instead I went completey crazy on the equipment, like this no boss can resist me. Even the game called me out on it:

And trophy %?

100! Once again I’m not that good at games, but I love Zestiria so much I couldn’t get enough and needed to reach the 100%. Although it was only possible thanks to the lack of minigames from hell.

Favourite/most used armatus? EXCEPT water, we all know you’re gonna pick that.

WATER Favorite to play with after it is Fire, but though Wind is annoying to fight with, it's good looking with the blade wings and most importantly the artes mystic is really effective to farm equipment xD Before I started with the farming the order for most used was Water, Fire, Earth and Wind.

Favourite attachment?

Dezel isn't happy Zaveid took his place.

Favourite costumes for each character?

The delfaut ones + Alisha’s dlc outfit (though I wish she had pants instead of a mini skirt). Sometimes I switch for the school set so it looks like a school expedition gone wrong xD Here's a picture of Lailah just because.

Favourite boss fight?

Don't think I have one? Like I say I'm not really good at games, so I just wait for the party to finish talking and destroy everything as fast as possible. But I guess Tiamat and Eizen where nice with the music (no I didn’t enjoyed killing dragons, killing dragons is heartbreaking, even more in zesty) and beating up Landon and Lunarre was satisfying.

Do you run into enemies so you can windstep? Come on, you can admit it

Who doesn’t? The best combination is to run in circle while eavesdropping on townsfolks and keep it going by slaughtering everything on the way. It's rather funny to look at Sorey running at full speed, even more when paired with the lord of the land blessing that increase the speed.  

How do you prefer to play? (eg “on the sofa with chocolate bars in my mouth and a cat in my lap”)

This description sounds like the ideal way to play video games, unfortunatly my cat is way too distracting, between the random moment like “I’m gonna stand in the corner and meow until mom gives me full attention” and “let’s lie next to mom in the most ridiculous position ever so she will be too busy laughing and will lose her fight”, the best moment to play a game is to wait for him to be sound asleep, preferably with a safe distance between us so my eyes and hands don’t drift toward his soft looking fur… Add a nice cup of tea and it’s perfect.

Who or what is most fun to draw/write if you’re a creator?

I'm possesed by the spirit of Numin. She hijacks all my fics...

Anything you wish we could have learned more about?

Before Berseria I would have said Zaveid. Now I would love to learn about the ancient times, siegfried, the original Lady of the Lake, the first shepherd, stuff like that... A prequel to Berseria could be nice though I’m not sure I would trust bamco on this...

The game’s theme is “passion”. What part of the game are you most passionate about?

Very hard question. The characters. The story. The themes aborded. The Music. The aesthetic. The fact Natalie is looking toward the place Mason was killed. The cat on Sindra’s back. The dog that you all better have not let Lunarre kill. Everything. Here’s the game’s thoughts on the matter:

I’m very passionate about the whole game and will defend it against every injustified bashing I come across. …well, even against some justified stuff sometimes xD. Same goes with characters bashing, Zestiria is one of those rare game where I love every single party members, and hearing stuff like “Rose is a mary sue it’s impossible for her to be a killer and still be pure that’s shitty writing” make me lose it like have you even played the game ffs??

Tales of Zestiria 4th Anniversary

Day 4: Live your life with no regrets

Inspired by Maltran’s last words.

History is the architecture of our hearts

Is there a better way to celebrate this anniversary than eating a whole history book? Or you know, a genoise with chocolate icing looking like the Celestial Record. Here’s the recipe, presented by the loveliest fire seraph!

Separate the egg yolks from the white.

Mix the yolk with the sugars, then add the flour, the cornstach, the baking powder and the salt.

In a separate bowl beat the eggs whites until stiff.

Fold the egg whites into the batter bit by bit.

Cover the bottom of a rectangular cake pan with greaseproof paper and pour the batter in it.

Put in a preheated oven (150°C/300°F) for 25 minutes.

Insert a knife in the center of the cake; if it comes out clean it’s ready! And no, you can’t use a dagger.

You can leave it as it is or fill it with jam.

Now the icing!

Melt the chocolate and butter in a double boiler, then slowly add the icing sugar while stiring.

Once it's all melted, turn over the cake and pour the icing over it. Don't forget to fully cover one side of the cake.

Once dry, cut a bit of the three sides not covered to have a clean result.

Last step! Print the celestial record crest to make a stencil, mix some icing sugar and food coloring and sprinkle it over the cake. Do the same for the book corners.

It's done! Congratulation you can now feed on history!
