(Kratos):
★ ☾╰♚╮☽ ★ — NASOD was the title of these machines. Kratos mentally repeated the name to himself, making the foreign sound become one of native to his tongue. Still, if this women was a QUEEN of such a race then what if? No it couldn’t be, could it? Then again, Kratos had already met one android before hell he had helped create the physically feminine robotic and it would serve to solve the development of this Nasod ruler lacking a Mana signature a lack of life force. However, unlike Tabatha her voice wasn’t mechanical. It sounded all the more HUMAN and all the less ARTIFICIAL when she spoke of these machines, her people. It was something Kratos could understand for the fact that if anything were to happen to the people of Aselia under his gaze… well it was best to not think on such matters. Questions. That was the base factor of all who lived was it not? Always questioning when one had no answers to speak upon. There was a slight hymn of sadness inside her voice and even inside her lifeless gaze there was something? Perhaps it was just Kratos seeing what he wished to see but if there was little else he’d learned in his endless aeons was that everyone possessed just the tiny fragments of what defines humans.
❝I can assume that these Nasod were of your people?❞ A war. That explained it. War was something that seemed to flow inside this man’s very blood. Thinking that if you lost enough of it, whatever infected you would vanish only for your body to produce more and for what caused you anguish to come back twice as strong. War had been his life for so long; either with others or himself; it was a word he’d come to hate.
❝If it may be of any help I offer any assistance that I can be. For I’ve sworn to protect this world and that means its people first and foremost.❞ A smile is gestured in her direction. ❝I’m known by many titles, yet Kratos will suffice.❞
Wings angled towards the ground she watched the man with a strange curiosity that she did not know. It was unlike her to take interest in the way other lifeforms functioned but this man was far stranger than anything the Nasod had ever come across. There was no pulsing of an ordinary life and it gave her an uneasy feeling when she considered him. However, for as long as he did not threaten or she would not make any hasty moves to combat him.

“You are correct. There are many who have forgotten us but many that search for sites such as this. Those who wish to revive the Nasod power for their own gain.”
She could not allow such a future to take shape. If the humans were able to research the way of her people then they could have an ultimate battle unit capable of destroys entire cities. The world would be far uglier if the Nasod were to be revived by those who could not understand their power. However, if they remained underneath their Queen then there was a way to keep them all in-check. They would not be used for needless violence.
The Queen’s head dipped to the man and she seemed to develop a certain respect for the man before her. He was certainly a strange one yet to say he was a protector of his people? A job well done to him for confronting something as suspicious as a foreign royal.
“I am the battle unit, Eve; Queen of Nasod. It seems we have few things in common already.”

(Gaius):
Gaius nodded, lifting up the bags one by one and making sure that he hadn’t left any little treats on the ground. Yup, that was everything. “The kids have two tents so we can each take care of one. Stick candy all over their sleeping bags. Or something.”
When she wasn’t looking, he took one of the cakes and stuck it in his back pocket. “Yeah. Sharing.” He handed a bag of the candies over to Olivia, but his grip didn’t loosen on the bag. “Sharing… Sharing…”
Goodbye little sweets.
Her eyes didn’t leave his own as she seemed to be saying his goodbyes to the bags of candy. Not having a sweet tooth in particular, Olivia wasn’t so sure what made a grown man so attached sweets. But what did she know? They were two entirely different people. A smile and she reached for the bag of candy behind handed to her. Although an eyebrow rose as she tugged lightly on the bag yet he refused to release them.

“Y-You can let go now, Gaius!”
A few more tugs and he still wasn’t budging. The smile turned until her lips were a straight line as she continued to pull on the bag. Afraid it might rip she instead placed her free hand over Gaius, moved so she was standing at his side, and began her attempts to pry his fingers off the bag.
“C’mon... let... go!”

(Weird Guy):
Richard blinked, not at all a common response though he imagined it would be rather painful to fall on a set of keys. His eyes lingered on the ground but did not see the keys to which the other referred, it would be rather unfortunate for him to lose them, after all. Surely if he carried them about they must be of import.
Richard could not help but look at his clothing, quite unlike anything the monarch had previously seen. While true Barona’s nobility had a penchant for peculiar fashion, he somehow doubted that the case here; after all he did not even know this person and Richard was confident he was at least somewhat familiar with the members of the capital’s higher social circles.
“No… I cannot say that it is,” Richard answered, unable to withhold his laughter. He tried to imagine Barona castle painted in various shades of pink and the image far too comical. “I’m told it’s rather large but not pink. Though that might make for an interesting change. Might I ask where you were that you visited a bright pink castle?” He didn’t know of any such places on Ephinea, and he thought he might like to see it if it truly did exist.
“This one is brown for the most part, though if you are not here to visit the castle, may I ask what brings you?”
Okay why was he laughing...?
How was there anything funny in a pink castle? It was real! And in all honesty, the real pink castle was a terrifying thing to remember. Shadow Chie really was something to fear. Sometime she had a hard time thinking back on moments like those and realizing that they were things that had actually happened to him. They were things he wouldn’t trade for anything in the world- they brought them all together- but they were still uncomfortable memories.

“It wasn’t really anywhere I could give you directions to. Especially when I don’t know where I am to begin with...”
Rudeness in his voice he found himself more frustrated than anything. He hadn’t meant to be rude, of course, he was simply annoyed that he had been thrown down here. But then again, it was his fault for being so tempted to try out the TV trick again in his room...
He squinted at the taller man for a moment as he tried to figure out what this man was all about. The way he dressed? C’mon, was this medieval England? There was no way people in the Shadow World dressed like this... besides, this guy seemed way too human to be a Shadow. So maybe this wasn’t the Shadow World? Or it could’ve just been what happened to the Shadow World after they left.
“I didn’t come here on purpose... I was sorta thrown here- I dunno.”

(Priest):
BEMUSED ! truly, he was stunned, albeit momentarily; for he could not allow his mind and its fickleness to distract him from the purpose of this encounter. though she may not have spoke, and the sound came from … somewhere ( and he was likely to question it later ), what remains important ( to the utmost degree ), would be to find his way back to the other shepherds.

❝ i —– do not understand. but, erm, my lady, rest easy: i am a man of cloth, and i lack any kind of malicious intent. ❞

“Don’t see that every day, Red. I thought all religion was gone.”
An emerald gaze fixed on the man with a curious look. This place was not a world of her own. The Process had not yet ravaged these lands although the repercussions of their existence remained. Her voice had yet to find its way back home. Transistor pulsed with a green glow with every syllable of his words as he channeled the thoughts to of the woman to himself and spit her words to the man.
“Yeah- we got ya. ‘No harm done' she says. This here’s Red. You can call me Transistor.”

‵ hey —– watch it ! just got my hands on this sweet tart and you almost knocked it right out of my hands. ′

“O-Oh! Gaius, I’m sorry! I didn’t see you there...”
After all, it was just normal to bump into people while you were too focused on looking at your own feet... “What makes that sweet tar so special...? Did you steal it from someone?”

“Its okay, I’m here.” “I’m not going to leave you.” “Everything is okay.” “I’m going to protect you.” “I believe in you.” “Hear my heartbeat? Just focus on that.” “You’ll be alright, no one can hurt you now.” “You’re not going to lose me.” “I love you.” “I’ll stay right here, okay?” “Just breathe.” “I’m okay, you’re okay, we’re okay.” “You’re everything to me.” “I don’t care what they think, to me, you are perfect.” “Do you want to talk about it?” “You don’t have to be alone.”

Oh, so that was what he was doing!

“I’d love to help you! I thought you were stealing again...”
Things were pretty easy when someone was this gullible. She would believe just about anything he told her as long as his intentions seemed pure. Giving candy to the others in the camp? That was innocent enough! There was no way he could turn that into some sort of mess. Or, at least, that was what she told herself so that she could stand for candy thievery.
Her hands raised to her chest and she couldn’t help but shy away as he told her what her role would be in all of this. Being called cute was something she heard a few times as a dancer but for some reason she just couldn’t get used to it. Although it seemed more often than not, it was Gaius she would get all flustered around and find her cheeks red hot.
“I’m glad you’re sharing this time!”
Gaius blinked at her, his face blank and void of expression. “Sick from candy? All for me? Ha, you really like to tell jokes, don’t you?” This was definitely a predicament.
“Well, you see, babe. This wasn’t all for me, no, no. What I was going to do was… Uh…” He knelt down and shoved the candy back into the bags, more as a scapegoat to give him a chance to think than anything else.
“I thought instead of a thief I could give out the candy. With all these kids, y’know and where they came from, they probably haven’t celebrated much. I could be like a Candy Santa. Or something. And you can be my cute little elf.”
Oh, how he wanted all that candy for himself. He’d have to sneak at least half the candy into his tent somehow…
“How does that sound? Can I get your assistance?”

Why was he moving around like that...?
He walked as if he were an elderly man who had chronic back pain in a way... Of course, Olivia wasn’t one to be so rude as to point out something such as the way someone walked. The man could’ve been in serious pain or maybe actually had some sort of back injury! She could never forgive herself if she pointed out the flaws of man with a problem like that...
“O-Oh, I would love one! Wait- you don’t mean alone in your tent... Do you...?”
A soft smile graced her lips momentarily as he walked towards the entrance although a subtle flush of red appeared on her cheeks. She looked down for a moment then suddenly... Bags. Peering at them closely she realized that these were bags of candy... All six of them.

“Gaius-! Those are for everyone! You can’t have that many to yourself! Besides, what if you get sick?”
“No, stay in the bag, little cake. Stay-” Interrupted by the sound of the tent quietly being opened, he quickly turned to the person who had come in. He blinked at the sudden light, wincing.
“What am I doing? Nothing obviously,” he said to Olivia as if he were actually doing nothing wrong. A bag began to bulge out from under his cloak, which he casually pushed back underneath.
“Now, doll, let’s be on our way and not speak of this again. Do you want a lollipop? I’ve got about 30 back in my tent. Why don’t we go chat there?” He began moving towards the tent opening, hunched over oddly with all the bags packed on his back beneath his cloak. “Come on.”
As he reached for the tent flap, one bag began to spill out. Followed by another. And another. Soon enough, all six bags of candy and treats had spilled out onto the floor. “So… There’s an explanation for this somewhere.”

Nights grew seemingly colder as the voice died down and the moon was no longer with them. The moon had waxed into a new moon and in turn left the nights to be a bitter darkness. It wasn’t common for the dancer to be awoken by the sound of her own stomach yet when hunger struck she had no choice but to take care of it. While others would take care of each other, none were going to wake up to help her.
She left the tent she shared with a great deal of the other women and crossed the camp to their stock. Supposedly, Gaius was supposed to be watching the supplies yet he was nowhere to be seen...

Slipping inside she found herself in complete darkness. From pure memory she felt around for a gas lamp to the side and swiftly lit it. What she was faced with wasn’t something that had been expected... But ti didn’t exactly surprise her either.
“Um... Gaius? What are you doing...?”

Call him a savior, a good Samaritan, or a friendly passerby. Call the mercenary what you will- but there was one thing he knew best and that was how to spot quick cash. Money took form in the figure of an armored woman with long, dark locks. A smile brightened her features as he made way for the poor, lost soul standing at a directory. Cities such as Trigleph were no place to be wandering around aimlessly! Maybe he could help.

“Now if I’m not mistaken, you look a bit lost!”
His smile was welcoming and his intentions- while slightly twisted- were good! There was no misfortune he wished to bring onto this innocent woman. It was her wallet she was after yet in the most gentlemanly of ways. A mercenary didn’t go unpaid no matter how small the request. Whether he gave directions or took down a monster or two- money was his language. “Trying to get somewhere? I might be able to help! For a price of course.”

Oh dear. She had thought she could manage on the surface of this world, scraping by with the skills of hunting and scavenging she knew from her days in the Knights. The spoken tongue here was the same as her own, so buying items and lodging was no problem. But it became clear she could not find a way back to her home without contacting someone with better information than she had. And that meant reading maps.
Whatever the spoken language may be, this script was completely alien to her eyes. She thought perhaps she might recognize at least some structure, but it looked foreign to her. She stood there before a directory, in a crowded city, and hoped that maybe someone would take pity upon her and ask her that age-old question. So long as she could speak, she could manage.

A shake of her head and she dismissed the apology- it wasn’t necessary. The man was up and walking and that was plenty to make the dnacer happy. If anything, it had been her fault for distracting him! She needed to find a private place to dance so she might avoid prying eyes. The possibility of getting hurt was great yet knowing this risk she preferred the tranquility of a dimly lit forest. On rare occurrences she would be interrupted as so but in the end it was worth it to get out here on her own.
It seemed that he felt more comfortable around her as time went by and a bright smile illuminated her features. Fingers pressed together happily and her head tilted to the side as a slight angle.

“Well... I-I’m the performing dancer tonight. I was wondering if you might be going because it would be nice to know someone there...Oh-!” Her face flushed and she shook her head. “N-Not that we really know each other! My name’s Olivia...”
gods, fate really was not on his side. his cheeks flush–a lovely rose color–as his actions are revealed by the woman. it was a bit embarrassing to be seen through so easily… but judging by her tone, it seemed that she was used to such a situation. but… but.. well, it was still embarrassing! the warmth in his cheeks desperately tries to stay, leaving a endearing flush adorning his face. one of those almost there, but not there kinds of blushes– but that does not stop him from replying. his tone seems more serious then his visage (despite the fact that it was sombering up), implying an air of authority–as though he wanted her to listen to what he said, “i… apologize for that, m’am.”
his tone seems to lighten up as he continues to speak, “are you sure? ..I’ve fallen in much worse circumstances. but don’t worry, it would be my own fault if I got hurt. you aren’t to blame.” perhaps it seems a bit prideful. wounded, perhaps– but it doesn’t seem like he really blames her. leon seems to have blamed himself for his actions. “you don’t need to worry about me– no, I am not. I was traveling to it, thought. is there a reason you might ask?”

Old Man!:
Oh, he certainly thought he was funny. Hilarious, even. It came with having a repertoire of jokes so bad that only he could laugh at them. Even if no one else would find him amusing, he would get some sort of small enjoyment out of it.
“ Oho? But ya jus’ said it was on purpose. “ Nevermind he was the first to point out how her writing slip had been accidental, despite initial protest. It was fun to tease the pirate–amongst the guilds there were few who could take sort jabs and retorts with the ease his world traveling companions did. Granted, the former party’s jokes could get quite mean-spirited.
Teasing tone dies off, however, hand rubbing idly at the back of his head. Perhaps his skill at lying so well wasn’t a good thing, made up story catching the pirate’s attention far too easily. Well, he supposed there was a possibility of some sort of treasure being in the forest, their having ever only explored a small portion of it before. Maybe deeper in, past the aer krene–
“ Ten percent? Sounds like I’d be better off headin’ back t’ Dahngrest. I can’t promise it’s even still there. Y’know guild types are almost as big on tales a treasure as pirates are. “ Perhaps that’d give him an escape route–blame faceless others for his lack of fictional treasure. “ Bump it up t’ fifty-fifty an’ I might lend a hand. “
Uh oh- she was losing him. If he went back to Dahngrest there was no way she’d get out of here with that treasure. If she left with him the pirate’s curiosity would drag her back to Kiev Moc... And even she knew what curiosity once killed. But there had to be some treasure in here. It was an enormous, overgrown forest and if there was no treasure lost within then she would be surprised.
Then again. she had been wrong before. The tiny pirate didn’t know everything after all. It was a sort of pirate’s intuition that this place would have something for them. What it was would be beyond her but if she could use treasure as an excuse to be around the old man again she’d be happy. Of course, she wouldn’t go off making him feel special by telling him that she jsut wanted to spend time with him. That would be too nice of her.
Her eyes looked to the older man with an appalled expression- fifty-fifty?! There was no way she’d splint the loot evening! She was the captain here- not Raven. Patty gave him a pout and crossed her arms stubbornly.

“You’re crazy if you think you’re getting fifty-fifty, nanojya! I didn’t even give Seifer an equal share!” That was saying something considering their history. There was no one she’d even think about giving an equal share to... “I can go to thirty-seventy That’s pretty generous, old man. You should take it, nanojya.”

Skipping stones was not her forte and neither was swimming in deep water. If Nowi skipped her Dragonstone nearly as far as she had skipped the rock well... She’d be swimming for a little while. Anxiety built up in her chest and her feet shuffled together uncomfortably. Her eyes flickered across the water and watched the ripples pulsating from where the stone had submerged. Looking down at her clothing she realized that these clothes would not do well wet... But they were all she had for the time being.

“Very impressive! I couldn’t have skipped that nearly as far...”
But her words were just the slightest bit of distraction as she removed the cuffs from her wrists and set the ribbon on the ground by her feet. Next to be removed were her shoes before she detached the lengths of fabric covering her legs. The absence of the clothing was... strange. Yet to swim with them would be a feat on its own. “O-Okay... I think I’m ready...”
«🌟» “For one, I can’t swim. Two, you know how to use a sword, I don’t. Three, I’ll give you a reward!” To be honest, Nowi’s reward was to give her a giant hug and bake her a cake, since she and Robin had been working so hard to learn how to cook. It wasn’t that bad. In fact, Nowi thought it was a pretty good award, but that was subjective.
“Mmm.. I think it’s somewhere around the middle? I can skip pretty far! Wanna see?” That wasn’t a question, to be honest. It was more of a statement. Picking up a rock and judging its weight, Nowi then winded up her arm and tossed the rock into the water, watching it bounce about ten or so times before finally sinking.

“What did I tell ya?! Champion in the works right here!”
