Kahvenin kısa tarihi, Nescafe 360

Dünya Kahve Günü ilk kez 1983 yılında Japon Kahveciler Derneği tarafından kutlanmış. Böyle bir günün Japonyadan çıkıyor olması ilk duyduğumda beni şaşırttı açıkçası. Japonya denilince ister istemez çay geliyor aklıma. Ama kahve konusunda da gayet iddalılar anlaşılan, önce onlar kutlamış. Özellikle de kahve üreticilerini onurlandırmak için hazırladıkları bu kutlama zamanla tüm dünyaya da yayılmış. Dünyada en çok ticareti yapılan ve sudan sonra en çok tüketilen içeceklerden biri olan kahveyi günsüz bırakmak olmaz pek tabi. Her 29 Eylül’de hep birlikte kahve içiyor, kahve hakkında konuşuyoruz . Nescafe’nin misafiri olarak kahve sohbetine katıldık. Bu maceranın onlar için nasıl başladığını dinlemek ve tarihsel notların derlendiği video’yu izlemek çok lezizdi. Vaktiniz varsa sizin de kahvenizi alıp izlemenizi tavsiye ederim.

Bir de yeni çıkardıkları bir uygulama var ki, uzun zamandır gördüğüm -özellikle benim gibi kahve sevenler için -  en keyifli uygulamardan biri. Nescafé 360 adı verilen  yeni uygulama ile Brezilya’daki kahve tarlalarına 3 boyutlu sanal bir tura çıkabilirsiniz. Eğer google cardboard gözülüğünüz var ise bu tur tam bir deneyim yaşatıyor.  Android telefonlar için şuradan ve iphone için buradan ücretsiz indirebilirsiniz.

Ayrıca daha önce bilmediğim, ve bu lansmanda öğrendiği kahve üreticilerine verilen destek gerçekten inanılmaz. Hikayenin bence en vurucu kısmı burasıydı. Daha kaliteli ağaç yetiştirilmesi için verilen bu destek eğitimler ile devam ediyormuş. Sadece ekvator kuşağında yetişen kahvenin tüm dünyaya yayılmasındaki katkısı için büyük üreticilere özellikle de nescafeye teşekkürler. Meraklıları için Nescafe tarafındaki başarı hikayesi de kısaca şöyle:

1930 yılında Brezilya Hükümeti’nin Nestlé’ye başvurması ile başladı. Nestlé’nin mucitlerinden Max Morgenthaler, ekibiyle, kahvenin doğallığını koruyarak sadece su eklenmesiyle kaliteli bir fincan kahve yapabilmenin yolunu aradı. İsviçre laboratuarlarında tam 7 yıl süren uzun araştırmalar sonunda cevabı buldular. Bu yeni ürüne “Nestlé” ve “Café” kelimelerinin birleşmesinden oluşan “Nescafé” ismi verildi. İlk defa 1938’de İsviçre’de satışa sunulan Nescafé, bugün dünyada 150’den fazla ülkede satılıyor ve her saniyede 4000 fincandan fazla Nescafé içiliyor.

1517’de Yemen valisi sayesinde Anadolu topraklarına gelen kahve burada da çok sevilmiş. Dünyadaki ilk kahve dükkanı bu sevginin bir eseri olarak istanbulda, tahtakalede açılmış. Ve sonrasında hızını alamayan bu tat doğruca avrupaya yayılmaya başlanmış. 11 asırdır hayatımızdaki bu tadın aslında bir keçinin damak tadına bağlanan hikayesi de pek anlatılası:

Khaldi adlı çobanın keçisi kırmızı bir meyveyi yer ve daha enerjik, hareketli olmaya başlar. Bir kaç kez tekrar eden bu değişikliğin nedenini merak eden Khaldi ise cevabı kahve ağacı ve kahve çekirdeklerinde bulur. Önce bu çekirdeği meyve ile birlikte yemeye kalkar ama tadı acımsıdır. Sonrasında ise kaynatıp içilir. Ve en sonunda asıl lezzetin çekirdek de olduğu anlaşılır. Kavrulunca ortaya çıkan o muazzam kokuda herşeyin başlangıcı olur.

Nina Nastasia - Dogs - A Dog's Life

bio: Nina Nastasia was born in Hollywood, California and is of Calabrian and Irish descent.[1] She began writing songs in 1993,[2]and released her first album, Dogs, in 2000. Only 1,500 copies of the album were initially pressed, with Nastasia putting together the album packaging herself in her apartment. Nastasia sold them at her shows, quickly selling all of them. By the end of the year 2000, the album was out of print. Famed DJ John Peel took notice of the album (calling it "astonishing") after having been given a copy by Steve Albini. Peel began playing songs from it constantly on his radio show on BBC Radio 1. The album, as well as Nastasia, subsequently gained a cult following.[3]Nastasia has released six albums, one in collaboration with Jim White. Her first album, Dogs, was initially released in 2000 on Socialist Records. Her subsequent albums, The Blackened Air (2002) and Run to Ruin (2003), were released on indielabel Touch and Go Records, which also re-released Dogs in 2004. In 2006, On Leaving was released on Fat Cat Records. In 2007, an album on which she collaborated with Jim White entitled You Follow Me was released through Fat Cat.
