One warm Summer morning, at exactly 7am, my phone’s alarm clock went off. It told me to get my arse out of bed and start writing. I stayed in my pajamas and headed into the kitchen to grind coffee beans from the freezer. I remember the chill of the bag felt so comforting in my hands during that humid July. There was a novelty to the whole coffee thing, as I’d only really had a few Costa latte’s before. But now here I was, making my own black coffee like a grown up. I was now an early bird, ready to start my first novel.
