Random Act of Kindness
What is the meaning of life? No, sorry, what is the purpose?
Live well? get married? have kids? wealth? health?  #wtf Too many people are living their lives, racing, taking so much for granted, failing to raise their heads above water and take a moment to breath, look around and give back. This is a great topic to cover on Jan 1st 2012 I believe in "Random Acts of Kindness" ("a selfless act performed by a person or people wishing to either assist or cheer up an individual person or people" Wiki) A small taste of life: I went to pick up my doughtier from a birthday party 3 buildings down the street - as I was picking her up, she came out with a huge and amazing balloon art in her hand, yet I saw that she is unusually sad. After pulling my "Child Psychology 101" act, I came to understand the cataclysmic, paramount and monumental issue I'm now facing. The balloon artist that was entertaining the kids, made her something she didn't want. She actually wanted the butterfly or flower figure which was given to one of her friends. Now, I must admit, my kids, are my soft spot. Being a total person, having a weakness as big as I have toward my kids, may result in some crazy outcomes. At that moment, I promised my daughter that I WILL get her what she wanted - her eyes lit. That was my goal - mission accomplished! Now, need to find a butterfly or flower balloon art.... Living in a very small city, knowing one Balloon artist that lives near by, I assumed that he was the one that catered the birthday. It turned he didn't. Just as I was thanking him, he asked me re the nature of my question and I ran him by the whole story. He immediately replied: I'll make it for you! got a picture of it? I smsed the friend whose doughtier got the design my doughtier wanted and emailed it right over. He replied - come and pick it up tomorrow night. I was charmed. I just spoke to the guy for the first time over the phone and he immediately extended his arm toward me and offer to help.  Take aways from this lessons, which I try to exercise every day: Life is short - Be Kind, Help Others.

RELAX
Recently, I was called in by HR for a quick chat.
I wondered, what they could want. I’ve been working @LivePerson for over 9 years - maybe they’ve had enough? It turns out, they only wanted to inform me that I -Must- take some time off as I’m way over my days off limit. Apperently, I wasnt taking almost ANY days off in the past 2yrs! I started thinking what I want to do on my time off - Apart from spending some more time w/the kids - I’m still considering some options. Bottom line for this short blog post - Relax - take some time off rom the crazy race we call life. Remember, time not spent today w/your kids and loved ones will never ever come back.

Sound Of Silence
I'm back from 48hrs without my mobile phone.  Yes. Me. Without my mobile phone. I must say - WOW! what a sansation! Its was like having my real life back - reminded me of the 90's - suddenly, you look at people's faces, buildings, sky when idle, you don't jump at every ring, ding or buzz, enslaved to the little info lord stuck at your back pocket, notifying you of life as they happen around you, to others. Its not only social I'm talking about - no SMS's & phone calls too! - the sheer sound of, well, silence, was intoxicating. When I did needed to reach someone, I simply 'found' a way to call, 15 years back, they were called, "pay-phones", today, they are anyone! Obviously our lives have become something that demands us to stay connected in many shapes and forms, yet, If you are reading this, I strongly urge you try it some time. if only to be reminded of how we once lived our lives. This blog is about nothing, and everything.
This blog is "about nothing" as my all time favorite comedian Jerry Seinfeld used to say.  It revolves around my thoughts, comments, ideas and of course, as I'm Jewish, rents and complaints. About anything. But mainly technology.  I plan to give you my honest opinion, unpolished, streight up, with a twist.  This is not a polished and surgically neat blog. I plan to blog casually, thus, if minor spelling / grammer mistakes bother you, this is where we depart.  I hope you enjoy the ride.  -Ariel
