There is no Cudgel intended here. Hamas are terrorists and are also using human shields which is horrific and wrong. The IDF are not 'just as bad' they're a different kind of bad, and the same understanding of "traumatised humans lash out and this is understandable and does not make their criticisms of others treatment toward them invalid" rule applies here. Israel deserves to exist, Jewish people are native to the Levant, Hamas are terrorists who brutalise kill starve and torture their own people for speaking out against their actions, AND Palestinians have been suffering occupation and oppression from the IDF and illegal settlers on the West Bank (in terms of a two state solution that recognises some Palestinians as indigenous and the fact if a people have lived there a long time it's not reasonable to drive everyone out and no other country on Earth has been asked to do that, just as no other country on Earth has been put under the level of scrutiny Israel has for the same atrocities) among numerous other atrocities at the hands of the IDF that should not be dismissed as 'lies' because Westerners have been antisemitic wankers using real Palestinian points about oppression, wrapping it around an "I've always wanted an excuse to attack the icky Jews" Cudgel, and beating every Jewish person they see with it.

Hopefully I covered all the disclaimers so people just read and consider without Cudgelling either side. Antisemitism bad. Islamophobia also bad. Governments and military aren't the same as an entire country and atrocities they commit do not validate atrocities against the civilians of the opposing side and this applies to everyone with no exceptions, period.

Feel free to help me out if there are other sources that aren't this one place/if this place is unreliable due to funding practices I'm unaware of and I need to find more reliable sources to be taking news from. They should take the boys and girls are different bit out and just teach about different body types as desexualised anatomy (including intersex would be extremely helpful to improve societal acceptance of them too) so we include more people, but otherwise yeah, your body is your own and no one should be touching you there unless it's your parent or doctor and then only in these very specific hygiene/medical related ways, and if anyone is doing these things to you that's assault and you need to tell a different trustworthy adult what's going on, like the other parent or teacher or doctor if it's a parent, another doctor or teacher or your parents if it's your doctor, another teacher or parents or doctor if it's a teacher, etc etc. I straight up never got taught any of that except 'boys and girls are different and you're a girl because of your anatomy; screw how you feel' and 'this is how reproduction works.' So when a creepy old man near the creek where I played started doing extremely inappropriate things to me when I was 12 I had no idea it was wrong. I got out because somehow I eventually felt something was off and talked my way free and then never went back, but if people had spent less time focusing on genitalia making you a boy or a girl, and more on consent and the fact children cannot consent to that and therefore need to go get help if someone is doing that to them, I might have gotten out earlier.

Do you think sex education should be taught earlier?

I think it's mostly fine the way it is, or at least the way I remember it being. A preschooler doesn't need to know and isn't going to care how to put on a condom or what chlamydia looks like, but should have that general knowledge of "boys and girls are different, don't let anyone touch you there."

Yes, I know we are included in the original flag. I prefer the Gilbert Baker flag myself for its history and aesthetics and I feel it represents me as an intersex person. But this isn't about personal preference.

You do NOT know how many people know what intersex means because they asked why that flag was put there. That's people who might've never asked that question. That direct representation of us DOES matter. It DOES help us. And your aesthetic preferences are not a good reason to get rid of a direct refrence to intersexuality in one of our broadly used queer community symbols.
