Season Series: The Rangers, who have won five straight and nine of the last 11 against the Bruins, go for the season sweep Sunday in the fourth and final meeting of 2011-12. New York posted two victories in Boston — one in overtime and the other a 3-0 shutout — before edging the Bruins 4-3 in the latest encounter on March 4 at Madison Square Garden.    

Big Story: As is often the case at this point in the season, the results of a couple of earlier games Sunday will determine what exactly is on the line for this clash between the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference. 

Should Pittsburgh lose to Philadelphia in any fashion in the NBC Game of the Week, the Rangers could wrap up the No. 1 seed in the East with a win against Boston. If the Pens lose in regulation, New York can also clinch the top spot in the Conference by gaining just a point.

The results of this study are evidence of the need for targeted, early environmental education in our schools!  It is clear that just existing in a world where climate change and other environmental concerns abound is NOT enough to urge millennials to action. Widespread enviro ed done right can ensure that the next generation not only cares, but also knows what they can do to be part of the solution!

NEW YORK – Boston Bruins Tyler Seguin, Brad Marchand, and Adam McQuaid show off the Stanley Cup on the back cover of the December issue of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED KIDS. The flip section of the December issue also features the “The Gotta Get it Guide,” a list of 65 sports gifts that any young athlete would love give, and especially receive. The Bruins shared their holiday memories with SI KIDS…

Adam McQuaid explains what he got his mother for Christmas last year: “My brother and my aunt were both born with cleft palates,” he says. “So I sponsored a child for full reconstructive surgery, and I donated it in my mom’s name. She really liked that.”

Tyler Seguin tells his favorite story: “I was really excited to get a scooter,” he recalls. “So I woke up in the middle of the night and went downstairs and started to open up all of the presents, trying to figure out if Santa bought me a scooter.”

Brad Marchand recollects a family tradition: “We would exchange one gift the night before but then we’d have to wait until everyone was up the next morning,” the 23-year-old native of Halifax, Nova Scotia remembers. “My parents were always the last ones up. We kids were always up around five or six o’clock. We would try to wake our parents up, but they would be like, ‘Nope, We’re going back to bed.’”

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED KIDS is also hosting a hockey-themed holiday card design contest. The reader who sends in the most creative card will receive a “Secret Gift”, picked personally by Tyler Seguin. Contestants can submit their holiday cards from November 23 to December 23 at SIKIDS.com/holidays.
