Masculinity in Peril

Masculinity is under siege. Courage, once the hallmark of biblical manhood, has been traded for an endless cycle of compromise. While compromise has its place in conflict resolution, surrendering the core tenets of godly manhood to appease a culture hostile to truth will never result in lasting peace or satisfaction.

The relentless liberal and ungodly attacks on Judeo-Christian values have gained ground in the absence of courageous, steadfast men. Where are the men who will rise above the noise, refuse to conform to worldly pressures, and stand unapologetically for truth?

Biblical manhood is not toxic—it is vital. It is defined by strength under control, sacrificial leadership, and a fierce commitment to protect and uphold what is right. Now is the time for men to reject passivity, embrace responsibility, and lead with conviction.

The battle for our families, churches, and communities will not be won by timid appeasement but by men of faith who are willing to stand firm, no matter the cost. “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.”

“Front sight, front sight, front sight” This phrase should be present in any entry level handgun class. In every class I have ever been a part of instructing this phrase was prevalent simply because front sight focus is essential to accuracy. To be an accurate handgun shooter we must align the rear sights but blur them as we focus on the front sights. Just as a handgun shooter must focus intently on the front sight to hit their target, a believer must fix their eyes on Christ to walk faithfully in a world full of distractions. The Bible provides strong support for this concept:

1. Setting Our Focus on Christ

Colossians 3:1-2 says:

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Just as the shooter blurs out the rear sights and background to focus on the front sight, believers must blur the distractions of the world and set their hearts and minds on heavenly things.

2. Running the Race with Focus

Hebrews 12:1-2 encourages us to stay focused on Jesus:

“Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”

In the same way a shooter must block out external distractions to remain accurate, we must continually fix our spiritual sight on Jesus to walk in victory.

3. The Danger of Losing Focus

When Peter walked on water toward Jesus in Matthew 14:28-30, he began to sink as soon as he shifted his focus to the storm instead of Christ. This illustrates the importance of staying locked onto our “front sight”—the Lord Jesus Christ.

4. Practical Application

• Eliminate distractions: Just as a shooter practices focusing on the front sight, believers must develop spiritual disciplines like prayer, Bible reading, and worship to keep their eyes on Christ.

• Trust the process: The rear sights (like life’s circumstances or challenges) play a role but must fade into the background as we trust God to guide our steps.

By “blurring the world and looking up,” we can remain spiritually accurate, faithful, and steadfast, living with eternal purpose and hitting the “target” of God’s will for our lives. Keep your focus on Christ—the ultimate front sight!

The ability to recognize subtle cues, read body language, and assess environments is a critical mental skill. These observations often neutralize threats before physical action becomes necessary.

5. Communication and De-escalation

Verbal skills and emotional intelligence are invaluable for diffusing tense situations. Clear communication often resolves conflicts without the need for physical intervention.

6. Enduring Value of Mental Skills

While physical capabilities can diminish over time, mental skills improve with experience. They provide enduring value throughout a security professional’s career.

Physical skills are important, but focusing solely on them limits effectiveness. A balanced emphasis on mental and emotional skills enhances performance and aligns with the industry’s goal of protecting people and property with minimal disruption.

The Liberal Left Blames the Object not the Action.

Yesterday, yet another school shooting occurred..in Madison, Wisconsin at Abundant Life School, leaving 2 people dead and 6 more injured. At last news cycle no motive was known and the shooter has been identified as a 15 year old teenager who is also deceased. We lift these families, victims and first responders before God in our prayers and we mourn the loss of innocent life.

No sane, moral person can say that this is acceptable or normal. We know that sick evil minds not only carry out such evil acts and we commonly discuss these as dark, ugly blights on our society. I must admit I’m tired of the rhetoric of the political left.. around these shootings …

Their continued response of ignorance and blatant disregard is maddening and reckless. They know full well that they spew garbage solutions and then try to take moral high ground when yet another innocent life is taken. As a security professional, former LEO, firearms instructor, and a practical thinker there is no doubt that the presence of competent defense against such actions not only limits but often completely prevents these type of incidents. Blaming guns, knives, or any object, for that matter, is intellectually dishonest and morally absurd. We as human beings are responsible for our actions and should face consequences for them. Gun control and restrictions holds society at large responsible for crimes they didn’t perpetrate. The left continues to present solutions that have zero affect on the attacks because they refuse to admit the root cause. While the liberals seeks to shame gun owners and second amendment proponents in these times, essentially seeking to appear morally superior, they actually find themselves guilty of politically motivated rhetoric at the expense of the victims and their loved one’s which leaves them guilty of, once again, pretending they care about the loss of lives while investing in solutions that do not address the issue. I believe they know what you and I know. Gun free zones are particularly attractive to mentally deviant individuals who seek to hurt innocent people and to fix this issue they suggest we make all areas gun free zones, inevitably giving the sick, evil, and unstable more and more opportunities. It’s asinine and morally disgusting.. Let’s do better and address evil as evil and sick as sick while providing vulnerable people with a defense that prevents, protects, and at the very least provides resistance to unhinged sickos

Then we will be addressing the issue not using the deaths of innocent people to advance leftist agendas!
