Think about this question seriously: does this issue affect how you work, how you live or how you function as a Filipino citizen? No? Then move on. Why are we so affected by this issue when a law clearly states that a former president has a right to be buried there regardless of what we think of him? The fact that we make such a huge fuss over the label "hero" tells a fundamental issue: we, as Filipinos, are so concerned about titles. Is he a hero? Is he villain? Are the Aquinos the true villain? Just because the cemetery has the word "hero" in it then we suddenly cry foul. Because we give so much importance to titles we forget that by doing so we impede the law. The same law that we, as a nation, are trying to relearn and reinvigorate under the Duterte administration. How can we progress as a nation when we fight over even the tiniest matters which clearly does not affect us at all? I refuse to give this matter another thought.
