It's that time of the year again!

Some lore about the Professor under the cut? Some lore about the Professor under the cut, let's go

Might as well include some lore about the world too because it's interconnected lol

First, you gotta know that both the Professor and 116 are over 100 years old (116 does not know that of course) thanks to the eternal youth formula the Professor invented

And the world came to an end a long, LONG time ago. And back then, when the apocalypse was upon them, a group of scientists decided to isolate themselves and pick a test subject among the survivors (they kidnapped the few survivors left, wiped their memories and sold them off through an auction) to try and find a way to save the human race by whatever means necessary

Except something went wrong with all the other labs and every scientist and test subject died, except the Prof and 116

So even if the Prof had come up with a solution, it would have been for nothing since he and 116 are literally the only people left on Earth So the only thing the Prof could do is keep testing until he'd run out of ideas of things to test, and mostly to pass the time

Despite the appearance, the Professor is not evil like a supervillain, he just wants to do science and he doesn't see 116 as a human being, only as a lab equipment requring certain needs to work properly But it was a very expensive lab equipment and the Prof would hate to see it breaking down, which is why he provides 116 with a limited (and controlled) comfort when not working

Over the years, he started developing feelings for 116 and eventually falling for them, despite 116 hating him with every fiber of their being The Prof is extremely delusional towards them, dismissing every single one of 116's comments about they hate him and how they'd beat him up as soon as they'd get out of the cuffs; and being utterly convinced that he and 116 have something going on

The Prof has this vision of 116 in his mind that completely clashes with the real one where he thinks 116 has been warming up to him over the years and that the two are friends, when in reality, 116 only acts complacent because of the cuffs

Tbh I eat toasted bread for breakfast lol, I either go with just salted butter, or butter and honey

THO my favorite thing to do with bread is: butter a slice with whatever kind of butter you want. Add whatever cheese you want on top, fave cheeses to use for this are camenbert, goat cheese, comté and emmental. Put in the oven on low/medium heat until the cheese is melted. Add a drizzle of olive oil if you're feeling fancy. Enjoy

Okay, guys, actual legit thought about how X's powers could work

(I haven't watched the latest episode Three Seats yet, so keep that in mind and no spoils in the notes please)

So, heroes get powers from how people view them. The people view Nice as perfect so he has all the classic moves and powers deemed "perfect". Moon travelled a lot so the people gave her the ability to teleport, and later on, because the people only saw her as Nice's gf, she could only teleport to his side. The people don't want Firm Man to fall or bend, so he is literally unable to do so. Okay, we got that, logical.

Now, what about X's powers?

He seems to be able to shift from the real world to a 2D dimension that appears as a painting to outsiders. And he also seems to be able to totally control that 2D dimension. The thing is, X's true identity is unknown, people only know him as his hero self. So how did he get powers and how do they exactly work?

Well, I can't really answer that first question but I might have had a brain blast for that second one. Think about it: So far, besides the opening and credits, X has not appear in person in the anime. But he has appeared as several things: in commercials, advertisements and posters/billboards. Aka, 2D images and videos (as we see in episode 1 with Lin Ling's commercial around Nice, hero commercial can be animated and not just video recordings of said hero). And that's how the people perceive X. They only see his hero form as a 2D image through posters and commercials and stuff. So X literally has the powers to become 2D aka like one of his many posters, because that's how the public sees him.

To come back to that first question, maybe he got his powers because one day, he randomly did a modelling gig for extra money (his office job probably does not pay good), they dressed him up like his hero persona to make him extra good looking, and things escalated from here, idk

Anyway, that's my two cents about this, someone probably already beat me to it or came up with a more logical explanation, I'm not active in this fandom.

Subject 116 Unwilling test subject and lab assistant

116 does not remember their name nor precisely how they ended in this predicament, only that they were sold off to the Professor in a shady auction.

116 also lost track of time, they suspect Ctrl + Z did not reverse the effects of the eternal youth formula the Professor shoved down their throat that one time.

Unable to do anything due to the numerous irremovable cuffs on their body, 116 has no choice but to put up with whatever the Professor has in mind for the day.

It's only been them and the Professor for years now (if not more), so they're biding their time until something happens.

Spends their free time trying to escape.

The scientist using them (he insists 116 calls him Professor) created a formula able to reverse any change to 116's body, colloquially called "Ctrl + Z" (Tastes like a mix of liquified butter and cinnamon)

Anti-gravity and paralyzing cuffs activate if they try anything
