sorta a request?? but not really? anyway, which servants do u think would be down to play d&d?

OMG I ACTUALLY FREAKING LOVE THIS ANON YOU’RE SO COOL. I’m not currently in a campaign but I’ve been designing an oc just for funsies, he��s a Kenku rogue (arcane trickster) and I’m currently super into d&d character making..so here are some of my thoughts

Most likely to be a Dungeon Master:

- Shakespeare (tbh he’s probably a really annoying dm because he’s trying to make the most dramatic story possible)

- Merlin (would probably be a fun dm, but would definitely troll a little bit and make you roll for an outcome in a ridiculous situation. loves making eccentric NPCs)

- Da Vinci (also a fun dm, but all of her story lines are really freaking cool and full of ‘inventions’)

- Sherlock Holmes (at first he helps the dm make various puzzles and challenges for the players, and eventually he gets really interested in crafting mysteries and watching how the players navigate them)

Most Likely to Play:

- Mordred: Barbarian (at first she calls everyone nerds for playing, but it quickly brings out her competitive nature and she’s now obsessed with being a chaotic neutral barbarian)

- Jalter: Rogue (she joined the campaign exclusively for the fun of pissing off the serious players, but she quickly fell in love with playing as a rogue. any time there’s loot, she screws everyone else over big time to get to it first and pick the locks. 100% chaotic evil)

- Billy the Kid: Bard (because he thought it would be funny, and tbh it probably is pretty funny) and Robin Hood: Druid (tbh these two are always looking for something entertaining to do, preferably where they can goof off together. they moved from card games to board games, and then discovered the world of tabletop gaming. sometimes they play NPCs for the sole purpose of naming them something like Ben Dover or Mike Hawk. Robin is absolutely a druid who constantly has little subplots with animals. not really a familiar, just like ‘you find an injured bird. you nurse it back to health. as thanks, the bird guides you to your destination’)

- Artoria: Paladin (saber artoria, especially in the anime, can be such a dork and I freaking love her for it, I think she’d be so fascinated by d&d. in a weird way she and mordred actually have a little father-son bonding over it. they’re literally the ‘are ya winning son’ meme and artoria is just trying her best to understand how tf this game works. definitely lawful good)

- Mash: Maybe a Cleric?? (speaking of dorky servants, Mash would probably get so into something like d&d. at first she watches from afar but eventually she’s got a whole character sheet and backstory and stuff. is a super organized player who spends a lot of time recording everything. 100% chaotic good)

- Emiya: Ranger (yet another dork, he’s definitely that one player that takes everything way too seriously. is one of the players that jalter loves to antagonize and is really strict about keeping the game realistic within the canonical d&d universe. keeps dm merlin in check and doesn’t let him get away with screwing up the plot. I love him but I gotta be real he has boring lawful neutral vibes)

Merlin Realizing He’s In Love Headcanons

note: hi! thanks so much for being the first request ever sent in!! Sorry this took so long to get to, I’ve been swamped with school and grinding on f/go for daysssss, 90 saint quartz but no 4 or 5 stars 😔💔 also I finally got on my laptop so anon is an option now for anyone wanting to request :D

- Merlin’s vast knowledge of pretty much everything happening at any given time is a little scary, so I don’t think he’s really the type to be dense. I think he’s more likely to pace around and talk to himself for a day or so while ‘deducing’ that his racing heart and flushed face are in fact indicative of falling in love. He’s not super serious like some of the other genius servants, he’s more-so just really awkward at handling social situations since he spent most of his life pretty isolated in his tower.

- Meanwhile, everyone else in chaldea are holding their breaths because the lack of Merlin shenanigans is starting to get suspicious..you and the Camelot servants especially are going ‘awww shit here we go again’ as you anticipate an elaborate scheme to come.

- Merlin definitely isn’t insecure, but I don’t think he’d have any plans of confessing at first because he’s never seriously imagined himself in a relationship. He’s perceptive enough to know that he likes you, but he doesn’t see any significance to it until it starts to get distracting!

- When he eventually starts interacting with you again, he’s 1000% more of a hassle than he usually is. He’s like that one kid in elementary school who just constantly bothers his crush. It doesn’t take long for you to grow tired of Merlin’s 24/7 bs, and when you finally retire to your room for the night you have a frustrated ‘why me?!’ moment. Tbh you’re just trying to figure out what you could’ve possibly done to prompt Merlin’s wrath, but the knights of the round table are painfully aware of why Merlin’s been constantly targeting you.

- Merlin’s an extremely talented mage, and I’m sure he’d switch around or transform some of your things, but I could also see him pulling some of the classic childhood pranks on you with the assistance of magic.

- You’re having a lovely conversation sitting across from Artoria, but when you get up to leave, you immediately trip and faceplant onto the floor. A very concerned Artoria asks if you’re ill and, trying not to lose your cool, you have to explain to her that SOMEONE apparently tied your shoelaces together with an elaborate series of knots in the shape of a flower. There wasn’t anyone else near you, but you both exchange an exasperated look as you know exactly who the culprit is.

- Merlin's flirting is still totally focused on annoying you and/or pissing you off. what can I say? it's just his favorite hobby! He's the type to believe than any attention from you is good attention, so he's more than happy to provoke you in order to put your focus on him. He's not that awful though, and he sticks to being a general nuisance and causing mild inconveniences as opposed to actually harming anyone. He does care a lot about you if he has feelings for you after all, he just has a...funny way of showing it.

- You will constantly be asking yourself 'is Merlin antagonizing me or flirting with me??' (the answer is both btw)

- If you're shorter than Merlin, he always interrupts your conversations by strolling over and using your head as an armrest. If you aren't, sike yes you are actually because the cheeky wizard is now floating to be taller than you >:)

- Merlin has literally zero chill and I think he'd continue to be chaotic af whether he's just crushing on you or you've been dating for years. He probably does like physical contact and cuddling, but he refuses to initiate it like a normal person. He'll eventually get comfortable enough to where he doesn't have to be affectionate via pranks, but don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean that Merlin ever gets calm or discreet about it.

- Any time you're sitting on a couch, chair, the floor, or your bed, regardless of what you're doing, he will just come stand next to you and very dramatically fall on top of you (secretly careful not to hurt you of course) and just chill there sprawled over you in whatever ridiculous position you ended up in. If you adjust him to a more comfortable position (his favorites are sitting with his back to your chest and your arms holding him or vice versa and sitting tucked into your side with one of your arms around him and his around your waist) he'll be more than happy to comply, but how you deal with your beloved needy wizard is up to you!

- Tbh I could see a confession going one of two ways, both extremes on opposite ends of a spectrum with no in between. Either

A.) he never officially confesses, but you get the idea and you both come to an agreement of being exclusive to each other (or having communication as partners if you're polyamorous) as well as comfortably doing everything a couple would, just with an official label OR

B.) He's a total showoff and performs the most absurd, elaborate and extreme confession with magic the world has ever seen. I cannot get the thought of those brilliant wizard pronoun images made by iguanamouth out of my head-

I'm imagining THIS but it's a confession like those 'will you be my date to prom?' signs people make 😳

I just wanted to say that I appreciate your requests a lot and I’m really happy to be writing fate fanfic! I also wanted to give an update and say that I’m currently working on 3 drafts for requests! I did not anticipate taking this long to post some headcanons, that’s totally my bad! I’m a high school student starting college prep and I’ve been way more busy with work than I thought I’d be 😔 but this blog is already super fun and I’ll hopefully get into a better rhythm of writing here, so I’ll continue to take and work on requests gladly! :D Next time I log into tumblr on my laptop I’m also going to turn on anon since I think it’s off rn and I know a lot of people may want the option! Once I finish my current requests I’ll also get started on a master list ^^

Astolfo With a Cuddly MtF! S/O Headcanons

Absolutely! I hope you like this! Btw I usually reference f/go above the anime so I use they/them for Astolfo because of the gender section in their f/go bio: ‘As per Astolfo's request, their gender is a secret’ but feel free to disregard that if you use different pronouns :3

- Astolfo is hands down one of the best servants for supporting a MtF partner, I think they would understand you super well! Always down to cuddle and listen to you talk about your identity, or hold you tight if anyone dares to upset you. In general Astolfo is super laid back, but they’re extremely loyal and passionate about protecting their loved ones. If someone is bothering you, they won’t hesitate to stand up for you and make sure it doesn’t happen again, but if you decide that you want to avoid any confrontation, they’ll respect your wishes!

- Astolfo is also a 10/10 partner for a cuddly S/O! They are a super affectionate partner and would match your energy perfectly. If you have trouble asking for or initiating cuddles, that’s no problem! Once Astolfo knows that you like physical affection, they’re like a baby koala..will just latch onto you anywhere, anytime and gives a very dramatic pout if they have to let go of you

- A super wholesome, adorable relationship! Astolfo will be glued to your arm anytime you’re going somewhere or doing something. When they can’t be hugging you, Astolfo always wants to hold your hand or arm and you’ll never go long without physical contact of some sort. Astolfo has a ton of energy and quickly gets bored and starts playing with your hands any time you two have to sit still. They’re also super easily excited, and want to share every experience with you, so you have lots of fun little adventures where they giddily drag you along to show you something

- Astolfo adores all things cute, so they’ll ask you to do cute little couple things they see or hear about. If they get access to the internet, Astolfo probably has a folder of saved posts or even a whole pinterest board of cute couple ideas and they excitedly show you. If you like dresses and skirts, Astolfo will go all out on coordinating matching outfits! Even small things like tying bows in your hair that match theirs will make Astolfo thrilled. If you have longer hair, also expect matching hairstyles and doing each other’s hair. If you have shorter hair, they still beg you to let them brush it for you, before inevitably messing it up later when they can’t resist combing their fingers through your hair

- Loves quick kisses on the cheek, both giving and receiving. Astolfo likes to surprise you by suddenly pulling you close and pecking you on the cheek, but if you do it back they’ll get super blushy and bounce around excitedly

- Will totally give you piggyback rides on long walks or even just running through the halls. If you’re comfortable carrying them, they’ll absolutely just jump onto your back and say something dumb like ‘onwards!!!’, but as a servant Astolfo is perfectly capable of supporting themself upright around you and would never make you actually do much work. If you’re not comfortable carrying them, they’ll gladly carry you anywhere and feel a small sense of pride for being your very own knight in shining armor

- Hippogriff rides all the way. If you have a fear of flying or heights Astolfo will totally understand and offer to take you for a ride on the ground. If you’re just a little scared but still willing to try flying, they’ll gladly let you hold on super tight and will frequently check on you, giving you upbeat reassurances that you’re safe in good hands. If you’re totally chill with flying around, your rider might not-so-accidentally speed up or slow down suddenly to mess with you and make you grab onto them tighter

- Lots of fun little unofficial dates on a whim. But every night of a new moon, when Astolfo is on top of their game and having a little boost from the absence of a moon in the sky, they plan spectacular, really well thought out dates and sometimes even surprise you with little meaningful gifts! Of course, they absolutely adore you and treat you wonderfully under any moon phase, just think of those nights as the dating equivalent of a noble phantasm

- It’s stupidly easy to make Astolfo blush, except they don’t really act shy or flustered, they usually just giggle, jump around or bury their face into your neck. The two of you definitely share a physical touch love language, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have sweet, romantic talks while cuddling! On the other hand, if you just verbally compliment or flirt with Astolfo they rush at you full speed ahead to pounce you with a hug. They’re really just a big pink kitten in armor

- At night, Astolfo can never fall asleep without being right beside you, it just doesn’t feel right if you’re not there. What position you’d lay down in or share a bed with them in really just depends on what’s more comfortable for you. Astolfo is perfectly content just being with you and welcomes any cuddle position

- When spooning, I think they’d be little spoon most of the time but if you ever want to be little spoon they’ll flip over and hold you in instant. When Astolfo is big spoon, they hold you tightly like a small child might snuggle with a teddy bear

- Also really loves laying on your chest or stomach while you pet their hair or vice versa

- If you’re comfortable, they would totally introduce you to Charlemagne. Charlemagne is super curious to actually meet you after hearing Astolfo gush about you for hours. You’d become pretty close with Charlemagne, being the s/o of a knight of Charlemagne

- They always consult you before doing anything new. Astolfo appreciates your cuddly nature so much, but they recognize themself as an impulsive person so they want to make absolutely sure they never accidentally cross a boundary. Astolfo values your relationship more than anything in the world, and they’re determined never to break your trust under any circumstances

Frankenstein (Berserker) Relationship Headcanons

I love Fran so much, and as someone who sometimes goes semi-verbal I love to imagine a relationship with her where you’re able to establish non-verbal communication ;-;

- Fran is definitely one of the gentler berserkers, but her creator traumatized tf out of her so it’s important to understand the things that upset her and establish what you can do to help in the event of a breakdown

- She’s capable of formulating basic words if someone can’t understand her, but it’s extremely draining and frustrating when she has to try to speak. She would appreciate it so so much if someone made an effort to understand her without making her speak, even if there’s still a communication barrier. Tbh the gesture itself would be very validating for her, since she struggles so much with being seen as less than human

- Establishing trust and expressing your appreciation for her would take some time, but I imagine her s/o would start by bringing her a flower every day, and eventually she leaves you a carefully crafted flower crown in front of your door. There’s no sign of who left this surprise gift for you, but upon closer inspection the flower you gave Fran yesterday is woven elegantly at the front of the crown where it’s still fresh petals form a beautiful centerpiece

- As a berserker, Fran can be pretty impulsive and often disregards all else when she sets her mind on something. Expect to be randomly dragged off to a flower field at least once a week. She means well, she just expresses her feelings predominantly through actions. If she pulls you away from a conversation or while you’re in the middle of doing something, she’ll stop if you ask her to, but please come find her when you’re done or she’ll think that she’s doing something wrong and get very upset with herself :(

- To say that Fran is touch starved would be a massive understatement, the only time anyone’s ever touched her was to cause her harm. At first, she recoils from touch entirely because she has only negative associations with it, but as she observes couples touching eachother, her greatest wish is still to find someone capable of loving her like that

- She tried to express that she wants physical affection, but the awful things her creator said to her weigh heavily on her mind, and it scares her..her servant class reflects her ‘monstrous’ self, and she’s terrified of hurting you! In her eyes her hands can only cause harm, so she desperately wants you to initiate things

- On the other hand, you respect her boundaries and you avoid touching her because she typically flinches away from touch. She’s grateful for the consideration, but as the misunderstanding continues she gets progressively more frustrated until she eventually just gets right in your face and....pats your head

- Tbh you probably have to stop yourself from laughing to avoid her taking it the wrong way, it’s just so bizarre but also hilariously adorable. It seems out of place to call her endearing, but her 50/50 mix of awkward and bold is just the brilliant Frankenstein charm™️

- Fran’s new favorite thing in the world is to be hugged/held by far. Anywhere, anytime she’s always absolutely overjoyed when you wrap your arms around her! Just make sure to approach her slowly and always approach from in front of her where she can she you..surprise hugs from behind startle her and her natural response to being startled as a servant is ‘IM UNDER ATTACK’

- She still grabs your hand a lot to show you things, get your attention or take you somewhere, but if you start doing the same to her it’ll make her really happy

- Fran’s primary form of communication is grunts, hums and growls, but I like to think she makes little happy noises too almost like an excited puppy :3

- I don’t think this is how her body actually works, but I’m so attached to the thought that you get a little shock, like when someone touches you with static, the first time you kiss her on the cheek..

- If you don’t brush her bangs out of her eyes or tuck her hair behind her ear what are you even doing with your life????

- Hand motions/signs aren’t really her thing but you show her how to make a heart with your hands and now she does it constantly

- If any flirty servants try to make a move on you she just kinda ominously lurks behind them like >:( until they stop

- If someone hurts you physically, they can say goodbye to their kneecaps. Fran becomes your personal guard dog

- If some hurts you emotionally, she is out for blood and someone has to immediately hide whoever did it while you try to calm her down until she settles for trying to comfort you. But from then on anytime you see that person she’s your extremely dedicated body guard. She’s not one to forgive and forget, especially if she thinks you forgave them too easily

- For your anniversary and valentine’s day, you both whip out a bouquet of flowers for the other person simultaneously, it’s really cute

- When talking to other people, refer to her as your girlfriend or partner please it makes her so freaking happy. It makes her feel human, and makes her feel complete, finally having gotten what her creator denied her and told her she’d never have

- If you ever run into Victor Frankenstein during a singularity, you’re throwing hands on sight. ‘Thanks for creating the best gf anyone could ask for, but I hope you rot in hell for everything you did to her’

- She still has pretty vivid nightmares, so she’d love nothing more than to share a room and bed with you, it makes her feel safe and secure. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, she can’t exactly tell you about her dreams, but it’s the same one every time and you know it all too well by now. Tbh just being there when she wakes up is usually enough to calm her. Having a physical reminder that you, a human who truly loves her, are still there reassures her that the dark days are all over now. Victor Frankenstein can’t hurt her anymore, and there’s nothing he can do to take you away from her. But most importantly, you’ve proved that he was wrong about her
