I keep thinking of Gales' confession in Act 2. All of Tav’s responses seem like they were expecting it – and really, they couldn’t have been clearer in their intentions, so it absolutely makes sense. So... I believe if Tav panicked, even just a little, so would Gale. If they got this ‘deer in the headlights’ kind of look, if they were tearing up a bit, he would instantly assume that he did something wrong - because if he did, he would apologize right now, maybe find a spell to make them forget he ever said anything. He’s already halfway through analysing every conversation he’s ever had with them and contemplates where he must have mistaken kindness for flirting by the time Tav manages to put a stop to it all by kissing him – soft, gentle, nothing special, really. But in that moment, it's everything.

They have their own confession to make; something like this has never happened to them. He's simply the first person to want them like in that way, in the love kind of way. In the 'Forever' kind of way.
