doflamingo would be dealt with. that’s what this note said, that letter here, this crumpled report. finally, doflamingo’s last hand was dealt. it must have haunted him, but love prevailed. it was printed on his shirt, inked after signatures, scrawled on his polaroids. now, he was free. law cracked the window, lit up, and coughed up. it was time to put those notes to rest. together.

martyrdom was a rose-tinted white flag. his smiles were rose-tinted fangs, and his love was a rose-tinted lie. the truth was a bloodied, broken beast. the truth was pointing a gun without any lead, without any heart. he preached martyrdom but he didn’t save that boy. he lost the boy, lost his mind, bit the wrong hand, stabbed the wrong back. martyrdom. tonight, he’d learn true martyrdom.

frozen gales whipped against open wounds but nothing could sting anymore. no bullet could hurt, no chains could bind. tonight, they would be free. rose-tinted lenses shifted blood red. it was always going to end like this. it must be this way. there was never hope in his brother, but a light remained. the boy, saved by the lies that dug his grave. no more lead in his heart. tonight, he would be free.

hospitals, pamphlets, and maps surrounded them like leaflitter. magnolia blossoms perched just out of reach. in the dirt, the boy etched a depiction of his family. a lead poisoned palm erased the parents. the girl was gone too, but he didn’t have the heart to pull the trigger. hate surpasses pain, a message wormed into his skull by a fiend hooked on vengeance. love surpasses hate, a message eased into his heart by a saint set on healing.

they hopped between pubs but all he saw was that wanted poster. they were high on borrowed freedom, but all he saw was his unfinished report. they ogled over baked goods but all he saw was his reflection. it was murky, twisted, and vanished as soon as it appeared. an elbow thumped against him like a knife to the back, so he carried on. soul-searching could wait.

the last flurry of the season fell in a slow, heavy cluster. it rested on the tip of his finger and softened into a fat, clear droplet. clouds gave way to blue skies and slush gave way to wet earth. birdsong and laughter danced from above and behind. his knees buckled as the leash around them strained. frozen grass reached for the fresh sun, and his hungry goat reached for the fresh grass. spring would be warm this time.

could he hold on any tighter? could he crawl in any closer? could he slip between the cracks in his father’s ribs? could he live within his warm timbre and thrive beside the thrum of his heart? could the bullet claim his skull instead? would there be any life left to live? any heart left to love? in his dying act, a father saved his son. a flash and a bang and a father for a son. it must be this way. a father for a son.

double post!! it's rosi's birthday, okay, i'm gonna go a little nuts. i just posted the last chapter of a wacky fic to celebrate!! i'll also submit this as another item for @corazon-week!! didn't exactly follow a prompt for this one, but it does fit into my corabelle family holidays series! ♥

her death was a stench he could never forget. something like acrid smoke and decay, crossed with honey and holly. nobody seemed to notice other than rosinante. doflamingo scavenged for food to sustain her and rosinante picked the most fragrant flowers he could find. she smiled radiantly when she received her last, wilting bouquet. at least he could remember the gleam of her smile more than the stench of her death.

collaborating with atty this week to celebrate cora's birthday!! they've created some utterly gorgeous illustrations, (keep your eyes peeled! she'll post them all on her account later), and i've written up some little poetic musings to accompany them! i'll do my best to get these out in a timely fashion. thank you again for working with me on this lil project atty!! ♥♥♥ these illustrations make me feel emotions again...

Hi ♥ everyone! Corazon Week kicks off on Cora’s birthday! 💖

Hope you all is doing well, here we are another year commemorating our love for Cora-san, but this time is gonna be a little different! Unfortunately, our team has been a kinda busy :( and our dear member, @majoraop​ has to leave this project to work on her own goals and projects, we want to thank her for so much for all her value contribuition through this years, we will miss you and we send you our best wishes! 💕 So due to setbacks, we decided make this event so much simpler, this time there no prompts, so you can make aything you want for celebrate Cora-san and share it with all Corazon fandom! 🎉 If you want to use any prompt from past events, feel free to use it ;) This CorazonWeek2023 will start from July 15th until the last day of July.
