Finally finished: field sweater!

I'm so happy this is done! This was my first time knitting a top-down sweater as well as using mohair. The top-down construction I'm a big fan of, the armholes and arm decreases look a lot neater. Not sure about the mohair yet, it is very nice and fluffy but I think the sweater would have also come out just as nice without it. I changed many parts of this pattern to make it fit better for me. The needle size, the body-to-arm stitch distribution, the neckline, the short rows, the sleeve decreases and pattern... but it was nice to add all these little tweaks to make it more for me!

After I did the yoke I started researching more about tension and decided to tighten my tension by quite a lot, which isn't great to do halfway throughout a project ':) the rest of the sweater came out a lot smaller compared to the yoke! But nothing some half-and-half blocking magic couldn't fix luckily :)

It blocked well enough, I’ll just have to live with having miscalculated and made the wrong size.

It’s cute! It’s warm and squishy! It knit up surprisingly fast! I will definitely make this pattern again!

It was a tie between wildflowers and fern leaf but I’ve made an executive decision (because I looked in my embroidery box and realised I don’t have the right kind of green for a nice leaf) and chose the wildflowers

Let’s see how long it takes for me to wipe off the chalk completely whilst still probably only at the stems…

I am going on a long weekend trip on Thursday (25th) and I have this bag that I’d like to take with me, only I want to take out the branding pin and do some small embroidery on it (fabric not ideal but fuck it we ball)

I really really hope that blocks out because eek the apex of my boobs is the worst place for that to start looking like hot garbage. (I really should have bought a longer set of circs then I wouldn’t have had this problem) 😬

Other than that I really love this, and I think I’m wearing it back to front in these pictures because I can see my travelling (supposedly invisible) row join spiral (which I also hope blocks out just a little more)

Also in hindsight I really didn’t need to go for a large. Medium would have done; remind me of that if I ever pick this pattern again (which is likely because it was fast and fairly enjoyable. I love a good Swoncho!!)

My first quilt!

It's mostly made of fabric I bought for masks in 2020, but I think it's a good starting point for quilting.
