This is so cute and i agree with the vibe i am obsessed with interpreting themes of self-discovery through the other in their relationship not least of all because they are constantly refining and changing each other .... And because of odo's thing with imperfect mimicry and the way he learns who he really is through contact with others, his possession of a self both foreign to and indelibly influenced by the people in his life. and of course there's ample room for these ideas to reflect on gender specifically. i did at one point post a kiraodo drawing that was attempting to engage with this exact constellation of concepts but i ended up privating it after a few days bc i decided i hated it and was embarrassed by it. it is still out there on some people's blogs somewhere.

i usually doodle things for asks i like but instead i'm going to plug jadenvargen's incredible comic along these thematic lines which apart from being a gorgeous and effective piece of art also played a big role in my getting into kiraodo as a pairing (and learning people other than myself would see them as lesbians).
