JGY was responsible for framing WWX and the deaths of side characters i loved — that's why I can't stan him even though I felt sorry for him at the end. No to mention, their intentions differed. JGY did all that he did for selfish reasons at the cost of others' lives — whereas WWX did them for those he loved at the cost of his own sanity and life.

In MDZS there’s a main character of humble beginnings who was accepted into a major sect, and was scorned by the cultivation world for his unconventional and underhanded methods. Despite playing a big part in ending the Sunshot Campaign, he ended up scapegoated all the same by his so-called allies. It is undeniable that he committed atrocities with collateral damage, out of both survival and revenge, and made terrible mistakes and lashed out when trapped. All the same, his devoted Lan boyfriend unwaveringly stood by him no matter the cost, and went into seclusion after his beloved’s brutal death.

Anyway enough about Jin Guangyao, let’s talk about Wei Wuxian-

An AU with a Jiang Cheng who, after his brother dies, FINALLY sees him clearly. Sees he didn't abandon him. Sees that he loved him and Yanli so much, he killed himself moments after she died. A Jiang Cheng that finally sees him for what he was, a good man who just wanted to take care of those he loved, live a righteous life without regrets, and fate did everything it could to get in the way.

An Au with a Jiang Cheng who isn't so blinded by grief and anger so that he can see, ultimately Wei Wuxian is not to blame for what happened, not to blame for Lotus Pier burning, not to blame for Yanli dying, not to blame for ANY of what happened with the Wens, none of it.

AU where when he retrieves Suibian, he realises he can draw the sword, and figures out what it means. An AU with a Jiang Cheng who understands his big brother made an ultimate sacrifice for him, and it set him on a path that ended with him a reviled villain whose death people celebrated.

An AU with a Jiang Cheng whose legacy isn't hunting demonic cultivators. It's upholding the memory of the first one. A Jiang Cheng who doesn't bury the past, who wants everyone to know what his brother did, to know Yunmeng Jiang is only still there because their late First Disciple, Wei Wuxian. To know HE is only still there because of him.

An Au with a Jiang Cheng who doesn't only have Zidian as a favoured spiritual weapon that was passed to him from his family. A Jiang Cheng that fights with Zidian cracking from one hand, and weilding Suibian in the other. A Jiang Cheng who honours his brother the only ways he knows when he has no body, no grave, nothing but a myth he tries so hard to battle. He gives his brother's sword another reputation, one of righteous deeds and protecting the innocent.

He uses the sword that was passed to him, and the golden core that was sacrificed for him, to rebuild his sect. He raises Jin Ling to know the true story of how not only his parents, but his UNCLE, his uncle who named him, died. And then one day his nephew stumbles upon a strange man in the middle of a hunt.

Jiang Cheng feels Suibian come alive in his hand at the same time Wei Wuxian realises his brother isn't holding Sandu. He's holding HIS sword. And just like that, Jiang Cheng knows his brother is back, and Wei Wuxian realises he doesn't need to hide. He had already been forgiven a long long time ago.
