Finding the mantra for a better body, mind and soul

  Between trying to meet our own fitness standards and leading an ever-anxious existence, we must all have wished for a magical portal, leading us straight into the perfect lifestyle of our dreams. But considering how the Wardrobe exists only in the fictional narrative of Narnia, that is beyond the bounds of possibility. But giving up is not an option, is it? More so because it's all about the survival of the fittest. And to survive in this world, you need to train your body, mind and soul and equip them with the right kind of energy required to deal with the pressure and uncertainties of modern existence. Now, how do you do that? The answer to this is very simple, actually just one word: Yoga. 
I am sure that all of you must be aware of not only what yoga is but also the benefits of engaging with yoga on a daily basis. And here, I am not making an assumption but today after numerous scientific studies conducted around yoga, this life-changing potential of yoga stands scientifically proven. But like me, you also won't be convinced in the absence of some facts and reasoning backing up this idea, right? So, let us give you a glimpse into the benefits of yogic engagement and prove to you how today, yoga is the mantra for a better body, mind and soul. 
Key to a stress-free life
In this modern world, where we all are in a constant hurry to reach somewhere and become something, being stressed 24×7 is only natural. You work, you strive, you try to manage all that you are supposed to do and amidst it, having a peaceful moment for yourself becomes a distant dream. The pressure is so much that even while sitting idle, you have hundreds of thoughts crowding your mind. Now, yoga won't magically efface all your pressure and worries but could help you deal with it all more efficiently. Stress negatively impacts both your body and mind and yogic engagement promotes the relaxation of both your body and mind. While in a yoga pose, you have to stay calm and get a hold of your breathing, which helps you relax and scientifically it helps reduce cortisol levels which is a stress hormone. So, through yoga, you meditate, find inner peace and eventually reduce your stress levels which often obstruct the smooth flow of your everyday routine and damage both your mental and physical health. 
Numerous Health Benefits of Yogic engagement
If I am to name all the health benefits of yoga, the list will go on and on. From helping you build muscle strength, preventing joint breakdowns, enhancing your bone health and blood flow to stabilising your heart rate and blood pressure, Yoga is definitely an all-rounder, helping you modulate every aspect of your health for the better. And also, a regular engagement with yoga helps you tackle diseases like Asthma, Arthritis, Diabetes, liver problems and lower back pain. And mind you, these health benefits are not a concoction of a yoga enthusiast or promoter but scientifically proven by researchers around the world.
Promotes healthy eating habits
Stress-eating is something that we all engage with and as I already said yoga helps reduce stress and therefore reduces your reasons to engage with stress-eating. The kind of mindfulness that yoga promotes has been scientifically proven to help improve your eating habits. Also, the kind of physical fitness that yoga helps you achieve motivates you to add to that by eating healthy. Researcher Allison Watts of the School of Public Health (SPH) through her research based on a survey of 1,800 adults proved that those who practised yoga tend to control their intake of junk and are inclined more towards eating healthy. So, yoga does motivate you to eat healthy, help tackle eating disorders and arrive at a healthier version of yourself. 
Achieve your fitness goals
Fitness is all about eating right and working out and yoga targets both these aspects. As I already mentioned how yoga promotes healthy eating habits, you must be clear on that part and as for the second part, what yoga is if not a physical practice. Yoga helps you in improving your posture, assists weight loss and enhances your overall flexibility and all this together will help you definitely achieve your fitness goals. And also, as mentioned before, a regular engagement with yoga has numerous health benefits and if you are healthy and free from any diseases, fitness is just one step away. 
Help fight anxiety and depression
If you were trying to find a way to keep anxiety and depression at bay, then the path that you need to follow is that of yogic engagement. Yoga is scientifically proven to be an activity that helps to cure mental disorders like anxiety and depression. Various researches have proved that Yoga helps in increasing the serotonin level in our body, a hormone that stabilises your mood and makes you feel happy. Because of this, today, yoga is increasingly used as a part of psychotherapy. 
Helps develop a positive outlook towards life
We all grew up hearing the statement that a "healthy mind resides in a healthy body" and while growing up we realized that it actually holds true. And yoga helps you acquire first a healthy body and through it a healthy mind. And when you have both, your outlook towards life is meant to change for the better. Once you start feeling comfortable in your own skin and about the workings of your mind, you are meant to be happier. The calmness that yogic meditation brings to your life will help you be strong in the face of adversaries and keep your positivity alive. 
And that was some of the many benefits of engaging with yoga. I don't think I need to say anything more to persuade you in favor of yoga and how it can be your mantra towards a healthy body, mind and soul. That being said, what are you all waiting for?
