Hi Mark! With the change to play boosters, would you still recommend hobby designers do commons-only play tests of their custom sets? And if so, would you recommend draft, sealed, or something else?

Starting with common-only playtests is fine. Mix in uncommons when you start having some.

A concept that fascinates me in fantasy settings is the idea of “Bullshit Magic” Just screaming what sounds like random jibberish at your enemy and still casting a spell.

Like what is that blond headed twat Edwin Theobaun going to do if you shout some random shit with your full chest and throw your arms forward, just to root him to the floor instead of hitting him with some Arcane blast.

Nobody knows how the fuck to react to some random mage screaming like he ate too many mushrooms. The enemy mage flinches at your ramblings and casts shield? He gets rooted to the floor. You start channeling massive power and he casts an arcane bolt to stop your channeling? Cast shield; because all you were doing was breathing in really hard and puffing your chest.

In reality, Bullshit Magic is fully applicable, because all your doing is casting non-verbal spells while screaming at the top of your lungs like a politician, and everyone else has to deal with the fallout of your unhinged arcane ramblings

A reminder to those learning and whom have learned about Warhammer 40k

The Tyranids’ Shadow in the Warp is NOT a nullification field like Blackstone or one cast by a blank.

The Tyranids’ Shadow in the Warp is the psychic reading of their consciousness being so large due to their hive mind, that it homogenizes the immaterial into a blot near their fleets.

And when you “enter” that blot, their shadow, your psychic might and innate abilities are so dwarfed in magnitude that it near ceases to work except in a few edge cases.

Using Vox, Psychic Communications, or Psionic powers in the presence of a Tyranid fleet is like a match being put out by the full might of a sun.
