I want to say something that's been on my mind for a while:

First of all I just wanna say I'm very grateful for how the tumblr community has been very positive and receptive of my work, and unhelpful comments are minimal. Thank you, everyone, for being kind and cordial. That is all I'll ever cherish. Kindness. Now I can say a thing:

I am a firm believer in having fun and letting other people have fun.

I don't see a single incentive to be a nuisance to other people and attacking them for enjoying things you personally don't like or agree with. Other people are other people, and they are not me. They are a separate, thinking individual with hopes and dreams, and their own likes and preferences. I cannot expect them to share my vision or like and dislike the same things I do, and it will be selfish, shortsighted, and most of all, unrealistic of me to do so. With that line of thinking, I stand by this belief.

If there is one thing I disagree with, it's going out of your way to declare how much you hate whatever thing it is, and sending death threats and disturbing the overall peace of the space. People seem to forget curating their own feed (muting/blocking) is an option. And bafflingly enough, getting blocked is taken personally. So I wonder, what do people expect to gain from attacking another living human? It does nothing but contribute misery and distress to others.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I remember the words:

"We're only here for a short while, so by the gods, be good to each other."

Crazy that this has to be said but the fanfic community has always been women centered and it will always be women centered. You don’t get to come into a female dominated space and complain about the lack of validation of male writers or how things aren’t male centered. There is nothing wrong with male writers but you guys are not oppressed in ANY way and I need everyone to block me if they think otherwise.

Men are not oppressed in today’s society and never will be. Every single problem men face on a daily basis was made by other men. The call is coming from inside the house and if you think that women have it easier than men literally anywhere on the planet just because some of them are pretty- pack your shit up because we are leaving delululand NOW

Here’s my problem, sedating a minor and kidnapping them is unethical no matter what. You could be a child in a gang, whatever, but the problem is, hoyo paints this kind of thing as “not that deep” and that’s really bad for our perception of reality. The idea of calling this “not that deep” just goes to show how warped our perception of these problems are. Sure, the situation seems unrealistic, but in the US(where I live) at least, the mismanagement of prisons happens a lot and child abuse is one of those. I have a lot of experience growing up with minors abused by authorities within prison facilities and it’s pretty ignored as a problem. Yes, kidnapping a minor who is also a prisoner is child abuse. Fatui or not. Yes, baiting Freminet into almost killing himself is abuse and mismanagement of your power as warden. Wriothesely is supremely fucked up in my opinion and I find that how lightly it is taken in the story is really messed up.

Wriothesely is also doing all of this off complete speculation, but I won’t go into how that kind of attitude is exactly what causes problems for our view of the justice system and how it is very “guilty until proven innocent.”

I’m sorry I’m heated about this, but media needs to be treated with the knowledge that its separation between reality is a lot smaller than it seems. This kind of portrayal is both triggering as a person who is actively targeted by the police and the prison system as well as someone who has experience with minors who have been cruelly treated within that same system. To see this style of problem as justified in any way is gross to me and needs to be reframed to show the severity. This is also more so targeted towards the actual writing from Hoyo, but the community needs to be more in check about what characters we actively approve. If somebody wants to write a story about something like this, they should do it with utmost research and respect, no matter what.

Anyways if we still want to have Wriothesely stuff, let’s encourage more of headcanonville and give him some actual redemption ^-^

IF ANYBODY LIKES THIS FUCKER I WANT YOU TO REALLY THINK ABOUT WHAT HIS REDEEMING TRAITS ARE. HE DID IT FOR THE GREATER GOOD? THE PLAN WAS ALL IN CONTROL? MAKE A BETTER PLAN DUMBASS YOU DON’T NEED TO BE A FUCKING CHILD ABUSER TO SAVE THE WORLD OBVIOUSLY. Ok, with that out of the way, what are his actual redeeming qualities?

A. He’s hot.

B. He has a nice voice

That’s it.

Remember, just because a character is hot doesn’t mean they’re well written or interesting. This heroification of a child abuser and abusive prison warden rewards terrible men and terrible systems. I know it’s just a game, but games have always affect our perception of reality. Stop glorifying and giving Hoyo more money for a character who is

A. A shitty person

And

B. Clearly just Copaganda

We can do better than this.

We really need to encourage people to get up and learn how to make the art they want to create. So much of the argument made for ai generated art is for people who “can’t” do these art forms. You CAN do these art forms, just put in the time and effort to learn it! Hmmm, it’s be interesting to see how we can make art more accessible through more beginner friendly tutorials 🤔
