I had this tiny idea running in my mind for a while so I finally sketched it It's always so fun to see Shen Yi in very baggy clothes even tho he is a painter (must always get paint or pencil on his sleeves) and a police man too (baggy clothes are not comfortable to run around with) But I understand him. The bigger, the better

I needed my OC, Dash, to meet Shen Yi because of how similar their minds actually are And of course they had to go with their respective partners (and by partners I don't mean work partners ) I love how the dynamic in size is similar, the fact that the two smallest are artistic and sensitive, and the tallest ones are protective and active

But the clothing style ? Completely opposite xDD

Also I don't think Du Cheng ever met a woman taller than him, It must be strange xD

It's me ! What a surprise

I just love their dynamic so much and also their micro-expressions, their glances, their "wtf" faces they do sometimes and also the chaos this serie is xD

I think it was the first modern/crime/bromance c drama I watched and no matter how many times I watch it I still like it just as much

It's not the BEST serie but it's a comfort one

If Shen Yi was portrayed as the real artist he is I read "Happy Accidents" by wrote_and_writ on AO3 and they gave me this very good idea of Shen Yi cleaning his brush in his tea xD It certenly happened at some point knowing how hard he focuses when he paints xD

Following the animation I posted, here is a little snippet of the process

Tbh it was a fun project because I've been wanting to animate for a while now but never found the motivation to do it for my OC.

For this one I already had the environment, and someone gave me the idea, and the community is so encouraging ... It was now or never !

I don't recommend animating on photoshop though, because it's really a pain in the ass. I have more ideas to animate but I think I need a break for now and get back to simple illustration and doodle xD

So when I did the illustration of ShenYi's appartment @anyreiart told me one of their ideas

"they end up getting paint all over each other. Du Cheng having paint on his face and shirt from where Shen Yi has touched him"

I tried to do it because it's a very cute idea But because I though that one drawing was not enough to convey the idea, I decided to animate it ... I never ever animated humans, nor full body .. this is my first ... soo yeah, it's a keypose animation because I have no time to do the inter frames

I honestly don't know what to think of it, but I hope you like it anyway

Obsession is a powerful motivator 2 days ago I was like "oh I got this idea but if I want to do it I'll have to animate it and I don't know how" And now, I have the 10 simple frames set up, ready to be cleaned and I might add inter for a smoother animation but I like the vibe of simple very blocky animation If only this could motivate me do do my real work too ... but my real work is not about UTS so what's the point ?

Repainted ShenYi's apartment with a couple more detail and 3 poses because why not It's like I now have a sandbox where I can draw whatever I want. I have ton of ideas but it's hard to make them all. I also was to make some animations in it but I'm shitty in 2D animation So well enjoy Shen Yi in his cosy artsy place

So We found Shen Yi's apartment in real life And on the room tour we can see that there is a large semi-circular window As a cat himself I wouldn't be surprised that ShenYi likes to just stand or lay down in front of it when the sun is shining I might paint it later but for now here is the sketch
