Internet friendships are very real and important, and I'm so very sad still that I wasn't around on Tumblr while @tinyshe was going through her last moments caused by sickness. She was always so friendly and kind to me, and always kept me in her prayers and always sent me things to cheer me up or things that made her think of me. And I'm still so very sad to find that she has parted from this life. Please say a prayer for her and for her family.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest. The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen

Fahed (@/fahed-2) & Reem (@/reem-reem-0), fled south together with their children & their children's grandmother. Fahed's sister's family of 5 fled south as well, and the 13 of them remained together. But after 14 months of surviving hell as a unit (and nearly reaching their campaign goal) the family is now facing one of the worse decisions imaginable: who will be able to evacuate Gaza and who will be forced to stay behind.

There may be an opportunity for evacuation soon, but they're bracing for separation, with Fahed staying behind with his sister and her family. It's hard enough reunifying in Gaza, but with the border with Egypt between them, there's no telling when (or if) they'll ever see each other again. It shouldn't be a choice this family has to make: who survives, who may not. Their kids shouldn't be forcibly separated from their dad, nor Reem from her husband.

Fahed & Reem are some of the kindest, gentlest people ever, and their kids are dazzling, just absolute sweethearts. They've all lost so much and experienced too much, and somehow, kept finding a way to endure.

But right now, they might lose each other, so please: pitch in what you can, help the Shehabs stay together 🙏

Oh happy people, oh human beings, perhaps you are listening ears, I am speaking to you, Shahada Al-Habash from the Gaza Strip, specifically from Jabalia, one of the places where death, destruction, devastation, hunger and poverty abounded in the Gaza Strip. My family and I were displaced in search of safety, security and means of survival. We ran and slept in the street, and my wife was pregnant with her twins, one of whom she lost at the beginning of the war when we were being pulled out from under the rubble of our house that was destroyed by the war machine over our heads, and the other we gave birth to specifically in the fourth month of the war, whose life began in the new year, perhaps it was the year of life for us and for our beloved Strip. I named her Hayat to bring us back joy, life and hope, but God’s will be done. My wife, my three daughters, Hikaya, who is ten years old, Sham, who is eight years old, and Hayat, who was born in the war, who is ten months old, are now displaced in Khan Younis. We sleep on the ground and seek the sky as a blanket. We only have a worn-out tent that does not protect us from the heat of summer or the cold of winter. As you may know, we do not get the most basic necessities of life easily. Sometimes, getting a piece of bread or a blanket for you and your family may cost you your life. I hope that you will help me and my family survive and provide some of my family's needs so that I can start a new life with my family.

I am Ahmed from Gaza, 26 years old. I stand before you as a person trying to support my family of 7: me, my father, my mother and my sisters, in our miserable circumstances, which we live in after the occupation launched the war on Gaza. We were displaced from our home and it was completely destroyed. We are now living in shelters. Due to the circumstances and low income, we are unable to provide the necessary benefits such as food and drink due to the crazy increase in prices. Thus, my source of livelihood has been destroyed, but it has been completely destroyed, as we are no longer entitled to work; and we expect to live in miserable conditions in the shelters. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in the shelters; without food, medicine or clean drinking water; with the oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, doubts and daily shocks caused by everything around us and the inability to care for our loved ones. The fear of danger, disease and death never leaves us.

Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my father and mother, by getting us out of Gaza to Egypt and building a new life outside Gaza or helping us get money to buy the necessities that we may be able to afford. Asking for help is not easy, but we had no choice because we want to survive and strive to rebuild our shattered lives. We are very grateful for any help you can offer, no matter how small, as your help will go a long way in alleviating our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your family and friends.

Do not really know what to say. A year ago we were making posts about how Gaza was being bombed through Christmas- how the oldest Christian community was being bombed- how the birth place of Jesus was being destroyed and his people murdered. A year later, it is going to be Christmas again soon, and the bombings have not stopped. But the news, and the attention seems to have died down considerably. It feels terrible and scary.

Can't believe I'm saying this but the weather is slowly changing in Gaza again and it rained quite heavily this week. Knowing this while literally 90% of Gaza's population has been displaced, many living in makeshift tents, is a terrifying thought. Since last week's rain, many people are left without a place to stay and their belongings destroyed by the rain.

The cost of tents is between $700 and $800 which is beyond practically everyone in Gaza right now. However, the Sameer Project are crowdfunding and providing these families with tents. You can help out by either donating and/or sharing their initiative with your friends and community members. Just add "tent" in the note when you donate:

hi everyone! i still need help affording groceries, bills, cat food, & gas for this month. my mother's EBT was stolen this month and she was told that she likely won't get it back until october so we've had almost no money for groceries. both of us are disabled and unable to work consistently, and i've been waiting for my decision from my SSI hearing since february. i have been trying to raise at least $350 to get my bills out of the way but sadly my posts keep dying. please share this wherever you can and toss me a few bucks if you can, any amount helps SO much seriously. thank you!!!! info below:
