My Thoughts on Alien Stage (Wiege)

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

So, I watched the latest Alien Stage video today and... I'm actually a bit disappointed? It's a good song and great story, but I find myself not feeling anything despite it being a major character death. I never liked Luka, and honestly learned so little about him throughout the other songs that when I watched him lose someone he loved I found myself just... Not caring. I understood the hows and whys of how we got there but... Unlike just about every other song that got some level of emotion from me, whether that emotion be negative or positive, generally when it came to Luka he either evoked nothing or anger and then something something the more compelling of his pair dies. I have no idea why it is that it's like that either as even in the first song of alien stage where we spend the song learning about how much the two on stage love each other only for one of them to then die I found it compelling and saddening. Is it possibly because I just didn't care for Luka because I found his manipulation gross and messed up to such a degree that I can't feel bad for him when he experiences grief? Yeah, sure but either way I just ended up feeling disappointed that Hyuna died for him. I actually found Hyuna interesting ad now she's kind of dead before it feels like we've really learned anything about her. I think the slight feeling of disconnect I have for Hyuna and Luka also stems from the actual disconnect between those two and the rest of the cast. The entire cast(that matters) is made of in no particular order Mizi, Ivan, TIll, Sua, Hyuna, and Luka. And of them, the other four are connected in some way. Mizi and Sua love each other while Till loves Mizi and Ivan loves Till. Ivan and Sua are still friends and Till is still at least on somewhat good terms with the girlfriends and Ivan. This means that they show up in each others songs and flashbacks while Luka and Hyuna feel disconnected from them and therefore... Less important, if that makes sense? In fact, in the few times Luka shows up just in the regular timeline he just kind of seems like an antagonist. We see him impersonating the freshly dead Ivan and Sua to Till and Mizi respectively and it makes him feel callous and therefore harder to connect to. Though I did feel a little bad for Hyuna and I think that the slight attachment to her comes from her having her own solo song and a shown (even though it's minor) relationship with Mizi, which is more than I can say for Luka. Kinda felt like the obligatory straights or something. All in all, good story, unfortunately it didn't really bring feeling to me like the others did.

About the ships of Inuyasha

I hate them. I don’t think there was a single canonized relationship that I liked or cared about. This is only in reference to the anime because I didn’t own the manga when I watched this and I’m sure as hell not buying it now. Also I have like a base knowledge of what goes on in Yashahime and I won’t really be talking about Boruto’s weird little cousin series (the joke is that nobody liked these next gens).

The canon ships:

Inuyasha and Kagome: the og ship that should never have happened considering their first interaction was him trying to use her neck as target practice. Factor in Kikiyo and the whole “probably like 165+ years old” thang in and it’s a hell no from me dog. She really abandoned her perfectly stable home life for a dog boy and a life of demons. That’s crazy.

Miroku and Sango: I hate this ship because I hate Miroku. I hate the “overly persistent harasser gets the girl” trope so much which is also why I also hate Zenitsu. Add to that Miroku’s womanizing and sexual assaulting tendencies and you get a ship I want a black hole to swallow.

Sesshomaru and Rin: people can claim their relationship was short lived and not a father daughter bond until the day they die but we are not blind and it was made clear. “He didn’t even take care of her for that long” ok and? That mf is still pushing like 20x her age. Someone should euthanize that mf.

The semi-canon it-could’ve-happened-but-didn’t-section:

Koga and Kagome: I think this would end up right next to Inuyasha and Kagome because Koga’s first interaction with her is an attempted murder and kidnapping, also I think Koga might Inuyasha’s age. So this ship is barking up the wrong tree.

Inuyasha and Kikiyo: So, he’s still way older than Kikiyo but at least in this she’s a legal adult(I’m pretty sure she is anyway). Not only does this chick have a penchant for playing undead, she has tried to put Inuyasha in the dirt to join her in the afterlife. I guess shooting an arrow through someone’s heart would break it, who knew?

Non-canon ships:

Sesshomaru and Kagome: No. Just no. There’s the 100+ year age gap, the several attempted murders, and the fact that I don’t think Kagome would ever even consider looking at him like that.(though since she gave Inuyasha a chance, give them a long enough adventure together and she might consider it). This ship can go right to meet Inuyasha’s parents.

Shippo and literally anyone: I will consider it when they let him age. No dating until the flames of life hit lil dude like a truck and let him get older even then he really shouldn’t be dating any humans.

Kagome and Sango: It’s a ship… that exists? I don’t have anything else to say about that.

Miroku and Inuyasha: Yeah no, not happening. I don’t think Miroku would even accept gay people he seems like the type to be wildly homophobic.

Miroku and Kagome: But why? No really, why?

Naraku and Kagome: Enemies to lovers in the worst way.

Koga and Inuyasha: Bakudeku but somehow less toxic.

Koga and Sango: Have they met?

Kagome and the mf with the shark brother and lightning wheels: Kidnapping and attempted moida.

In the end

In the end I’m just another unhappy camper in the trailer park though. So it is what it is.

FIRST POST!

First post and I'm here for the violence. This post will be short and about my gripes with She-ra.

So... Basically back in like 2019-2020 I was hanging out with my cousins who kept clowning on me for not having seen the show. I decided to binge the whole thing and that took maybe 2 days of consistent watching and much attempted phone throwing to finish it. There were so many shitty characters, bad jokes, and stupid plot points that I wanted to just give up. Of course because I had already suffered through it once I went home and made my mother watch it with me again.

ROLL CALL!

Catra is an irredeemable ass who I guess tried to do the Zuko redemption ark thing and fell flat on her face. Still by far one of my favorite characters though. Adora has one of the worst haircuts I have seen in a while and her being a dumbass who still falls in love with Catra despite Catra actually being the cause of one of her friend's parents deaths is insane. Glimmer. Never liked her and I never will. Bow deserved better than GLimmer he really did. Entrapta is big relatable. Scorpia deserved better friends. Hordak is just daddy issues. Shadow Weaver needed her weave snatched. And the rest of them are not important enough for me to remember! In short fuck em. Fuck most of these low iq assholes.

The relationships roll call!

Catradora is a toxic disaster that was not well written in the slightest.

Glimbow or whatever you wanna call it just shouldn’t have happened. They didn’t have nearly enough chemistry and Glimmer spent the large majority of the series being an immature ass. Bow should’ve just stayed single.

Spin lady and Net toss lady I don’t give two shits about, they barely got enough screen time for me to even remember they existed with the exception of season five(?).

Entrapdak idk Hordak got them severe anger issues, I don’t see them lasting long.

Mermista and Seahawk I prefer them separate just because Seahawk was just too pushy.

And all the other weird little relationships that were probably better that were hinted at or teased get an honorable mention as it is what it is.

That’s just the people related things that bothered me but I’ll probably never make another post about this godforsaken show.
