How to use a sigil wheel.
A tutorial.
I rarely use this method myself, but I know people are always looking for tutorials on different methods of sigil making and not finding any. I’ve had a few different people asking for more graph based sigil making techniques, and this is a fairly well known one that fits that category. I hope this tutorial is coherent and answers questions instead of making things more confusing. If you have any questions, however, never be afraid to ask.

Another Sigil Tutorial
Hello everyone! So I had a lot of questions about my other sigil posts and decided to post another method to making sigils. This is another one of my favorites to use! I just really like the way these turn out. I call this the constellation method!
Step 1: Get your Phrase
For this tutorial I'm using the phrase "Protect this place"
Step 2: Take Out Repeating Letters
So any repeating letters you have take them out! *Side note: this step doesn't matter too much because of the method which you will see in a minute but it helps confusion*
"Protect this place" becomes "protechisla"
Step 3: Making Dots
Remember this chart?
Tumblr media
So grab this chart and just ignore your numbers. Take what is left of your phrase for us "protechisla" and make dots on all of the letters you see. It should come out looking something like this:
Tumblr media
So now we've got our "stars" for our "constelation". Take out the chart and you should be left with an assortment of dots like this:
Tumblr media
Step 4: Connecting the Dots
So we have this random assortment of dots and now you get to be creative and connect them however you see fit. Play around until you have something you like. This is what mine looked like after some playing around with different arrangements:
Tumblr media
Step 5: Make it a "Constellation"
Tumblr media
This is what mine looked like when I was finished.
This is a wonderful method for those who are still in the "broom closet" because they just look like super cute little doodles or constellations. It's a super easy method. Just remember DON'T OVERTHINK ANYTHING!!!!! Make this your own sigil. Follow the method but also do whatever feels right! And most important! Stay safe and have fun with it!!!!!

This was the first method of sigil making I ever learned, from a post by @the-darkest-of-lights. I decided to make my own tutorial on it with my spare time. Happy sigil making! I’ll be making more of these on other methods of sigil making I think, because there’s so many different methods, and this was quite enjoyable to make. (I know that you can make sigils with the other various planetary numerology squares but honestly I still haven’t figured out how, I only know this one.)

This is a really easy way I've found to make sigils. I recommend engaging in meditation/prayer/manifestation/intention setting, which ever feels most applicable to you, while creating or before/after creating your sigil to put your full intent into the sigil you create. ✨️🤌

book recommendations pt. 1
i read,,, a lot of books. and with a special interest in this shit that means i have a considerable amount of books that are just witchcraft/paganism related. ofc, not all of these are going to be the Best options out there, i know that it's much better to get your information from a primary/secondary source or academic study, but i'm working with what i have and what i know how to get access to. if you have any recommendations or addendums to these, let me know! i'd love to hear what yall have to say.
Tumblr media
THE WITCHY BOOKS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sigil craft: teaches you the basics of creating your own sigils using existing imagery, alphabets, and your own creativity
encyclopedia of magical herbs: honestly just a great resource to have for any witch. i'd say any herbal magic book is a must have for a witch
don't wanna buy the book? here's a great alternative!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
crystal, gem and metal magic: another must have imo!! i prefer this book to the crystal bible because that book/those books spend a long time on chakras, whereas this book is more concerned with things like astrological associations and cultural contexts
don't wanna buy the book? here's a post i made that has some basics
enchanted tea time: love this book, it was honestly such a good find. tbh though, i wish there was more clear warnings about some of the ingredients, and some of the recipes like the lucid dreaming ones could have a more thought out presentation
don't wanna buy the book? here's a post i made that's similar
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the complete book of incense, oils and brews: another great book by scott cunningham (honestly i had no idea how much of a shill i was for him until now), but it's probably not a must-have, especially if you're not very crafty or already have an herbal grimoire and a good youtube tutorial
guided tarot: it is so important to me to have a book like this, because no matter how many little guidebooks and online guides i looked through, NONE were as detailed and accurate as this. i personally prefer this book the most out of all that i've seen, although it could have more information on reversed cards tbh. i prefer this book to seventy-eight degrees of wisdom cause that book has some weird overlapping ideas of qabbalah, although i do recognize it's very well written and thought provoking
Tumblr media Tumblr media
just some good spellbooks!

Candle Colors: A Beginner's Guide୨ৎ
Candles are a fundamental tool in witchcraft, offering a powerful way to focus energy and intention. Every color carries its own unique vibrations, making it a versatile and customizable element for your magical practices. Let’s explore the meanings behind some common candle colors and how you can incorporate them into your rituals.
Color Meanings in Candle Magic
🕯️ White:
Represents: Purity, peace, clarity, and new beginnings.
Use for: Cleansing, protection, and healing rituals. White candles are also great substitutes for any color if you're short on supplies.
🕯️ Black:
Represents: Banishing negativity, protection, and endings.
Use for: Releasing bad habits, warding off unwanted energy, and grounding during transformative periods.
🕯️ Red:
Represents: Passion, strength, and vitality.
Use for: Love spells, courage, and boosting energy. Perfect for rituals focused on physical desires or personal empowerment.
🕯️ Green:
Represents: Abundance, growth, and connection to nature.
Use for: Prosperity magic, garden blessings, and healing related to the heart.

🕯️ Yellow:

🕯️ Orange:

Use for: Career growth, creative breakthroughs, and manifesting opportunities.
🕯️ Brown:
Represents: Stability, grounding, and connection to the earth.
Use for: Home blessings, financial security, and balancing scattered energy.
How to Use Candle Colors in Practice ✮⋆˙
☽ Set Your Intention:
Decide on your goal for the ritual or spell. Align it with the corresponding candle color.
☽ Cleansing and Charging:
Before lighting, cleanse your candle by passing it through the smoke of sage or incense. Hold it in your hands and visualize your intention, “charging” it with your energy.
☽ Dress the Candle:
Anoint the candle with oil (like olive or lavender oil) while focusing on your intent. This enhances the connection between your energy and the candle's purpose.
☽ Light the Flame:
When you’re ready, light the candle and let it burn completely, if possible. Never leave it unattended, always remember to be safe when working with fire!
Budget-Friendly Candle Tips.☘︎ ݁˖
♡ Use What You Have: Even a white tea light can be infused with powerful intent.
♡ DIY Candle Colors: Wrap colored thread or paper around plain candles to mimic the desired color energy.
♡ Reuse Wax: Collect remnants of old candles to create new ones for future rituals.

When I first began practicing witchcraft in 1996 I had very little in the way of supplies. I used candles and cloth for most things.
Then I performed my first binding, which was the first spell of mine that did not work.
I moved into petition magick. Simple. They never worked at first. I had trouble with the idea of the spell not being fancy enough. I was young.
In 2018 I began petition work again. I didn't have much. Things I wanted to manifest were coming to me rather quickly. I was well over needing anything to be fancy.
My altar had a few things from local shops, but most of what I set it up with came from a dollar store.
I began to work with candles more.
Today I work with a few more crystals, I have gotten new cards, my oracle decks were all stolen a number of year's ago, and I have a little more spending money.
But for the first 15 years plus of my practice, I literally used what I had around me.
Witchcraft isn't about the tools, the oils, the crystals, or other goodies.
While they can be nice to have. They don't make the witch.

a low energy protection/clarity spell for the day :)
pls ask questions if you are curious about something I may have left out!
I get easily burnt out with performative magick, so I try to keep things as simple as possible. my spells aren’t big, I don’t have an altar, and I use what I have.
-cleansing the space/casting a circle? :
literally scrub the surface with soap and water, wash your bottles, etc.
i used a cleaned mason jar lid for my “circle” so I didn’t have to exhaust myself casting a large space (in my practice it’s not necessary). it kept everything contained so I didn’t have to clean up a mess.
-need to set intention/boost a spell but don’t have much energy? :
sigils and white dollar store candles or tea lights.
sigils are kinda a spell in themselves. write out your intention on a piece of paper, then use it to create your sigils and cut them out and put em in the lid under your candle.
the candle can act as an energy or charging source as it burns, and will seal spell jars as well. White/clear candles can substitute any color really.
so I put my little herbs and selenite in my little jar, put my sigil in the bottom of the lid, put the jar on the sigil, lit the candle, sealed the jar, put the candle in the lid with the jar, and let it burn completely until it went out. The jar is now hidden in my house safe from my kitties and wandering eyes (bc I gotta keep things under wraps unfortunately).

Dollar Tree Finds
While on break today, I came across some new products perfect as a gift or treating yourself. Astrology isn't my thing, but I did find these new trinket boxes.
Tumblr media
For another Dollar Tree find we have those yearly Astrology books. I don't know how good they are.
Tumblr media
I was also thrilled when I turned and looked I found a plastic organizer with compartments and a lid.
Tumblr media
I figured I could use it as an DIY altar kit or something else witchy. The middle row is raised so there is room to put some bigger supplies or a carefully folded altar cloth.
✨Anything to help others find ways to save money, and still feel magical while doing it. ✨

Tips for broke witches with a budget of 10$/€:
As someone who started with their craft when they were younger, living in a poor household with little to not money for me available, I know how how it is with a budget so low, that being a "true witch" seems impossible.
Well, I just need to remind you all that for practicing witchcraft, you do NOT NEED everything expensive. In fact you only need so little. Sure, the whole witch aesthetic with all the decorations, the cauldrons etc. looks lovely and most of us would really like to achieve that level of perfectionism, but Witchcraft is much more than that. It is a predominately Pagan practice. Nature is one of the biggest, if not the biggest aspect in it. Sometimes you just aren't really knowledgeable about all the options you're available to.
Tip 1: Nature walks:
As mentioned above, Nature is a big aspect. Almost every ingredient and spell componement is seen outside. Take a walk, go into the woods, get off path, you'll find herbs, fruits, flowers, all kinds of decorations. You can find sticks, bind them in any shape and hang them onto your wall. You can cut off (with Natures permission!) Ivy wreaths and hang them up. Pinecones, pineneedles, treebarks, hazelnuts, feathers, wheats all kinds of grass, everything is out there! Take a look on the ground and maybe you'd be lucky to find a few gemstones (yes, they're just out there!) or if animal bones are something for you even that!
Tip 2: Grimoire/Book of Shadows:
Your witchy journal does NOT have to be that expensive leather bound, old journal that the old antique shop sells for 60 dollars because it has a "magical aura". Yes, how can someone pass on that aesthetic, but your book isn't magick by itself. YOU first put the energy into it and make it something magical to you. Without your journaling and time you've spent, it is JUST a book! Therefore a simple notebook that costs like 1.50 max works completely fine! Mine is a notebook if found in my drawer that has a rainbow reflecting surface, trust me, the aesthetic is the thing you should be least concerned about.
Tip 3: Divination Board:
Self-made is always the cheapest option! Again, like your Grimoire, the board isn't the one with with the magical attributes. It's all you! My first divination board was made out of cardboard paper. You have all the options open, it can just be paper or you could even print one out. The material does not devalue the magical properties.
Tip 4: Pendulum:
A pendulum itself is cheaper than you think, look in the right places and you'll see. But if that is too much you can always make one yourself. You have to keep in mind that the item doesn't come with the magic! You're the one making if something magical. Find a pretty stone on the ground (with luck a gemstone!), tie it to a string and wear it as necklace. There you have it!
Tip 5: Cauldron:
A fire bowl, a normal bowl, a plastic bowl etc.! You can use anything. It depends however on what you do with it. Make sure not to use fire irresponsibly if you plan on burning something in it. Keep a window open and don't burn something in a not substitutional material. There's a reason a fire bowl is differencated from a normal bowl.
Tip 6: Gold, Bronze, Silver etc.
This goes for jewelry, tableware, bowls etc. For example in spells/rituals or offerings to a deity. A plate to put your offerings on or to set the spell on. Look into your cupboards! A glass bowl is a popular one to use since it's neutral in it's symbolic and easy to clean. If you'd prefer something golden or any other other material, ask a grandparent or maybe even parent. They usually have some sort of old tableware that is golden or bronze or anything else. If asked (and you're a closet witch!) tell them it's for decoration or putting a candle on it. The same goes for jewerly. Grandparents (or aunts!) usually have old necklaces and earrings they don't need anymore. Or even brooches with imagery you can connect to a deity maybe.
Tip 7: Tarot Cards:
It depends if you believe in the rule that says you cannot buy yourself a tarot deck. I do! Therefore what I did, was make my own one. It took lots of days but in the end I had a full deck! It's lots of work so if you don't want all that from the start, make yourself only the major arcana. Again it can be made out of cardboard, paper etc. The material really doesn't matter. If you're not familiar with the rule, it says your first tarot deck has to be gifted to you, found, or made by yourself. Infact in my case, all three happened to me!
In conclusion, Nature has ALL kinds of componements. You can find so many things all around you if you just look close enough!
But don't forget, cleansing is important! If you take items off the ground out and about, cleanse them off any negative energy before putting them into your household. If anything you need to know I haven't mentioned, just ask.
Happy witching!
