The other day, my friend asked me an interesting question. They were wondering if there was a genre to describe these three pieces of media. They all carry a similar vibe after all. Casper and Nova (video game appearing in Fiona and Cake ep. 9), Ena, and Omori all feature cutesy art styles. The worlds they take place in all feel hopelessly empty, even if they are in fact filled with people. They all start out in a sort of childish manner, but as you progress deeper into their story, that thinly veiled emptiness, terror, or evil comes to life. You get the idea. Anyway, as far as I could tell, no one has a name for this genre. So I made one up myself. I present to you: “Digital Crapsaccharine”. Crapsaccharine is already a genre itself of course, and is exactly as it sounds. Sugary sweet fictional worlds rot away to reveal something sinister. So yeah, I propose we call this genre “Digital Crapsaccharine”. I don’t have a particularly good reason, it just feels right.

Just as it says on the card, DONATIONS ARE NOW OPEN! We're now finally opening our Tiltify page to accept donations, and finally getting ready to start those fanart doodles of yours.

Fair warning to everyone... My hyperfixation atm is the strike. Most of the things I rb will be about the strike.

I care for this deeply because I'm a fan and an admirer of the craft. I owe the talent in the industry too much, it's imperative that they have what it's deserved.

But it's also important because AI scares the shit out of me, if huge industries don't win the battle against the regulation of this tech, the consequences are immeasurable, from every type of industry if you don't care about AI you're a fool, if it's not regulated we will be replaced.

I think now is the perfect time for the WGA and SAG to go on strike bc no matter how much studios threaten us with “you won’t have new shows/movies” it doesn’t matter because most people spend their free time watching two hour long retrospectives about video games they’ve never played on YouTube anyway, combine that with the content exhaustion almost everyone’s been feeling lately regarding constant remakes and sequels and the studios have basically fucked themselves with their own greed
