BookStreet AU Pt 1/?

Mel doesn't come across them in the hallway, Harold catches and apprehends Jayce and Viktor

Viktor gets away with a slap on the wrist with Heimerdinger's help, but Jayce isn't let off the hook

Narrowly escaping banishment and given extreme leniency, just to commit a federal crime trying to make magic again? Sorry Jayce, no third chances.

Jayce is sentenced to ten years in Stillwater, where he meets a teenage Vi

Jayce is distraught, obviously, but he knows him and Viktor could've made it work if they just had the chance. That, and promising his mother he'd return to her gives him the motivation to keep fighting.

He catches the guards and other prisoners picking at Vi for being an easy target. Jayce defends Vi every time and tells her to stay close to him.

Vi reminds him of Caitlyn, and seeing a young, traumatized girl being thrown into prison and abused by guards makes him question everything he knows about Piltover.

Vi is defensive around him, understandably, but they slowly become closer and learn each other's story.

She teaches him proper self defense and how to think smart and survive in dangerous environment they're in

Jayce sees how intelligent, brave, and caring Vi is despite everything that's happened to her and thinks of how much she could've accomplished if she only had the opportunity.

After he realizes that Vi is the one who broke into his apartment at first he’s angry at her for triggering the events that ruined his life, but once he learns the full story and what happened in the undercity as a result his eyes are fully opened to how oppressive Piltover really is.

Jayce becomes resentful towards Piltover for rejecting him, destroying his life's work, for ruining Vi's life, and for the violence they enact on the undercity.
