A local Virginian caught a good sized brook trout and told his dad about it. The father thought it sounded like a big one so he looked it up and found that it was a record breaking fish. He called his son back to tell him and the son replied "sorry Dad, it's already in the frying pan". His father had this painting done to commemorate it as a birthday gift.

A vibrant landscape depicts a field of wildflowers with two prominent trees under a twilight sky. The colors are vivid, with purples, blues, and greens dominating the scene, and a full moon hangs low above the distant hills.
This acrylic painting by Curtis Roy is a study of the works of Maurizio Rega, an amazing Italian artist. In the process of painting "Moonlit Meadow", Curt attempted to understand Maurizio's color palette which seems original, always illuminated from within, and usually in a natural setting.
Curt is sure he will do more studies of Maurizio's work from time to time in an effort to expand his own style.

It Is Done ~ The Vampire Queen ~ Acrylic on Canvas Painting by Curtis Roy
I spent too much time on this one, she just wouldn't let go of my throat. In late October 2023 I was motivated to paint The Vampire Queen as she opened the gate to her castle. The painting went on and on due to many other disruptions known as life. I finally finished it on January 3, 2024. Happy Halloween to my fiendish friends! Here is a glimpse of my unfinished work, “The Vampire Queen” as she opens the gate to her estate for you. Whatever you do, don’t look into her eyes, she will rip your soul from your hyde and you will spend all eternity groping in the dark to find it again. Please tell me you didn’t look into her eyes!

This extreme fantasy painting of two dragons struggling for supremacy or survival is symbolic of everyday life for many people around the world. It is framed in the most dramatic carved wood frame the artist has ever seen, which seemed completely appropriate for this painting. The painting measures 26" X 36" and with optional frame it is 38" X 48". The painting in the frame can be seen and purchased here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CurtisRoyArt and you can buy Prints, Mugs, Beach Bags, Pillows and more here: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/curtis-roy/shop If you would prefer to buy the painting only, the price will be reduced accordingly. Sunset at Snug Harbor ~ Framed Original Acrylic Painting by Curtis Roy ~ A Stone Cottage on a serene river under a beautiful sunset. Sunset at Snug Harbor is an Original Acrylic Painting on board that is obviously done in the manner of Thomas Kinkade. I thoroughly enjoyed painting it as an exploration of that style and recommend that others try it if they like his work. The "Snug Harbor" title of this painting is a fictional place that simply refers to that safe place you go at the end of the day. A stone cottage built to last centuries, on the water, what could be better? The painting in the frame can be seen and purchased here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CurtisRoyArt and you can buy Prints, Mugs, Beach Bags, Pillows and more here: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/curtis-roy/shop The painting measures 18 X 22 inches and the finished size of the frame is 26 X 30. This Original Oil Painting of The Serpent tempting Eve in the beautiful Garden of Eden is inspired by the painting "The Dragon Prince" by Boris Vallejo. You can read more about it, see it in the frame, and BUY the Painting at www.etsy.com/shop/CurtisRoyArt or BUY the Prints and other merchandise at https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/curtis-roy/shop
The oldest known written story of "The Garden of Eden" can be found in the ancient clay tablets made by the Sumerians thousands of years before the Hebrews adopted it in their creation myth.
There are many cultures that give credit for their knowledge and civilization to "serpents", "sky people" or "those who came from above", but the history of the Annunaki, Anu, Enki and Enlil as written on clay tablets by the Sumerians about 5,000 years ago is the oldest record that we can examine.
The Sumerians left us written records of the first schools, libraries, government, taxes, philosophy, ethics, literature, law, justice, agriculture and medicine but are left out of mainstream history.
Interestingly, they wrote the first Creation myth and "Garden of Edin", the first "Moses", the first "Job", the first "Proverbs and Sayings", the first "Noah" and tale of "The Great Flood", the first tale of Resurrection, the first tale of "St. George Slaying the Dragon" and much more.
A good "pre-internet" place to start reading about them is:
"History Begins at Sumer" by Noah Kramer published in 1956 and 1959.
This original oil painting on stretched canvas measures 24"x36" and is offered for sale including the exotic frame which has a finished size of 29"x41". If you prefer to purchase the painting only, $200 will be deducted from the price. In either case, shipping is free.
We ask for 1-3 Processing Days to ship because we build a crate that will assure safe delivery.
Thanks for visiting!
