     It wasn’t Toma’s fault that Nayva liked to throw things, or that Adrala (despite being much taller than her) liked to use Toma as a shield. At least this time she hadn’t gotten knocked out for very long. She shrugged as she moved to the spot she usually sat while letting the medic work.

         “Probably when my friends learn we’re all on the same side. Or when they get rid of their sexual tension.”

      “Really, Calway?” There was no need for the Talia to move her eyes away from her IMMACULATE work station to know who it was that  entered the medcenter. She had come to recognize the sound of the younger woman’s feet on the hard permacrete. The woman’s eyebrow quirked up with interest as she turned to face the redhead. “This is the second time in less than a  week.”

      Green eyes took in the sight of the bruising of her face, already beginning to purple. White covered arms crossed tightly over her chest. “When are you ever going to learn to DUCK?”

I just wanna-” The redhead cut herself off by grabbing onto both sides of Jaina’s face, not really giving the brunette woman a proper chance to react before planting a kiss to her forehead.

         “No, I don’t.” Although Toma was usually more carefree, she was definitely capable of being serious. “Things happen for a reason, not because of some imaginary thing we thank good things for. I escaped an uncaring master because I let him think I wouldn’t run. I came to a village because I knew if I found people I could hide and I knew where it was. I helped a stranger escape from horrible people because I knew it was the right thing to do. I was brought here because of gratitude and the fact I had no real home to go to.”

       Toma was surprised that people were asking her. Had nobody really thought about it before? The taller girl leaning in prompted Toma to take a slight step back before grinning. “Well, he wasn’t using it anymore, now was he?”

       “So, I’ve gotta know something.” It’s a story that’s floated about and around the base for days, but Jaina’s had yet to seek it’s verification until now. A wide smile grows on the young woman’s face and she leans in closer to the shorter girl; almost as if the answer to her question is of the utmost secrecy. “Did you really steal stormtrooper armor?”
