Hey y'all -- I'm making this post on behalf of Sami and his family, who are currently suffering in Gaza. You can find their fundraiser here. I think (especially) in a time where people are experiencing so much cruelty, it's our duty as humans living in the world to try to help others the best we can. We've all wished for someone to be there for us in a time of need, and we can be that for other people.

The genocide in Gaza has been ongoing for almost two years now and it feels like people have moved on from it. Campaigns are constantly stagnating and not enough is coming in to keep people afloat, and this as the situation on the ground only continues to worsen. Even when there was some food available, it would be sold for exorbitant prices. Aid has been consistently denied and enough has never been let in, but now nothing is coming in at all. The US and Israel are working to deliberately starve the people of Gaza, and they now face a serious famine. What "Aid Points" these countries set up are only used to target and kill people who are trying to feed their families. There is no food left, and what little can be found is sold at even more expensive prices than before. To deliberately inflict this kind of hunger is a war crime, it is inhumane and unconscionable, and even more so when we know that the children of Gaza aren't spared from it. My friend Dina has two children, one who is a toddler and the other only about a year old, who are having to drink salt water to stay alive. Dina and her children have been suffering from intense hunger, and I am scared for my friend everyday. But people are turning away from Gaza, and people are turning away from her. Gaza needs your attention and your action now more than ever. If you can help my friend at all, if you can donate to her campaign or share her story, it would help more than you know. Please don't forget about her.

News Update from Gaza – July 14, 2025

At least 47 to 95 people were killed today in Israeli airstrikes targeting aid distribution points, markets, and residential areas across Gaza. Last night, air raids continued heavily. Around 30 civilians, including women and children, were killed in places like Khan Younis and Gaza City. Among the victims were 6 children who died while waiting for water — the army later claimed it was a "technical error."

The weird intersection between fatphobia, sexual puritanism and fake progressiveness that breeds the idea that a skinny person attracted to fat people is a "chubby chaser" or a "fat fetishist" and not just like. Someone who has the hots for fat people. The idea that only another fat person could be attracted to fat people, otherwise it's sinister.
