Part of my grief (I’ve discovered) is seeing pictures of people who’ve passed is really hard at first, I’m very avoidant to them and even seeing their face would make me cry. Now I drink in any picture I can get my hands on, because I want them and I only have facsimiles and that has to be good enough, so marya immediately crying at the sight of ludmila makes me wanna THROW UP

Oh this is so fun. The entire campaign could be exploration and encyclopeding all of Zood. I’m obsessed. This is a new level of the show. I’m obsessed. (Also the trees competing so hard for sunlight they launch themselves into the sky is such a Brennan detail)

I also have a running list of things associated with Ally Beardsley and kombucha is being added as we speak.

I just love this so bad. What fun!! New animals!! New geography!! New culture!! It’s like in ATLA I was lowkey obsessed with the animal combinations that they would have in the background and this is like that on crack

I wonder if Brennan just has a big glossary of animals and plants and things that he can pick from I’m sick that would be so fun to create

This is a side of Lou we haven’t seen in a character yet, other than the moments where Kingston felt whimsy (the lion trains/grand central perhaps), but this earnest down to earth and not as sardonic and cynical vibe is so fun I’m really enjoying seeing Lou kind of able to shift into a different mode of like… I feel like his characters are prone to being stressed a lot and seeing his incandescent joy (constant crying) is delightful.

I’m so locked in. I’m really loving that I haven’t been as stressed as other seasons too, like FHJR stressed me TF out bc I cared a lot about the characters because we had lived in the world so much in sy, but new characters and this kind of spaghetti western invincibility makes for a very chill easy very rewatchable experience. lol are we on letterboxed I haven’t even finished the ep yet okay enough from me unless I’m still talking in the replies

Soooo I read the entirety of The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer yesterday in one sitting and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. It deeply disturbed me and it definitely could have been more graphic, honestly the lack of details in some parts is what haunts me. Without seeing the show it reads as a budding schizophrenic who copes in all the worst ways, but the schizophrenia (like in YJ) is also real, in some ways. It’s tangible. It can touch her. Or she imagines that it does. One of the entries that really gets me is she’s finally sober, and writing about happy things and sobriety and BOB literally interrupts her writing mid sentence. She’s trying so hard to ignore him and be happy and it will not leave her alone. It is in her head but her head is stronger than her brain. I’ll link the page I read it on but maybe take breaks. Oh and I will be watching the show now. I’m not sure if it will give me the same nauseating feeling as her entires did but it’s worth a shot. It’s also just such a good piece of creative writing, there’s so much to talk about and love about it, I hope I can write something as harrowing and impactful as this ended up being.

So excited for Lou’s ranger character bc I’ve always wanted to play a nature grounded animal lover ranger and the only rangers we’ve had so far are archers primarily and the fact that he’s like a quiet endlessly insightful and wise soft spoken slow going man who loves animals and the world and will cry if he talks about it too much??

I was initially predicting another zaclou divorce but daisuke is actually quite sweet and tame (just deadly), even marya can’t stop Emily’s shine from coming thru, and I honestly kinda love van being so butch and having a small chef husband and they are madly in love BUT looking at the before photo tell me comfrey and van didn’t hook up as leader and bosun come onnnn I know what you are.

This world is so rich already. It’s starstruck meets Atlantis meets treasure island and there’s already so many names and factions and I’m so glad we came back to this kind of complex sandboxy feeling it’s not as high fantasy as crit role gets but it’s weaved enough to feel like these are real places and people. Also kinda arcane coded a lil bit. Anyways. I’m sat. Really excited to see what these fuckers get up to.

Okay still thinking about the full long post where I have my notes in front of me and address the craziest/most pressing elements of s2 into 3, but I cannot stop thinking about 1) tai and the bad one, I had a whole epiphany in the shower and wrote an almost incomprehensible diatribe in my notes app as a result, and 2) Lottie. Lottie Lottie Lottie and I know my Lottie truthers are out there they must be but all my irls hate her (they are stupid). I love her bad. Apologist here. I think I have a bias bc I also have overlaps of mental illness and spirituality and schizophrenia is a fucking brutal disease and I’m sorry I love her and her crazy 😁

Me n my roomie are watching together and she works the next few days and we only have 3 eps left and im going insane. Most of the time we just look at each other and talk about it like we are just always thinking about it bc we are. (For those curious she’s a Shauna misty bias. Baffling cause misty is my irl enemy but wtvr)

We just haven’t had good quality shows in a while and you forget how euphoric it is when you finally encounter one. The acting is genuinely mind blowing at times (especially Ben but I’ll get to that later in full)(all the men in this show are written by women and that is why I don’t hate them bc they are perfect)

It also slides into the genre of having enough varied and complex characters with very different looks attitudes vibes wtvr that it feels like an astrology placement of who you happen to like (similar to like atla) (also yeah im working on their signs currently but I fear I might have to rewatch to be absolutely sure of a few). Very satisfying. Also yeah im drawing all of them STFU I’m normal ab it I promise, I can’t wait to finish so I can engage with the fan space fr. Anyways.

(Also as a dropout fan the seal kiss from a rose crossover is not helping my love of the song (did you know it costs the same to use it twice in one episode which YJ did do lol) and trackerbees trackerjackers Yellowjackets are all confused in me brain.)

Whew okay we’re into season 2 now, a lot is happening

Love Shauna being lowkey crazy. And Jeff being a genuinely good husband/guy (his fuck the police thing is so funny). And Randy is perfect. I love him. Every line he says is gold.

I’m a Lottie truther!! Mostly bc I am living through her but she’s so cool. I love watching her, tai stopping sleep walking when she joined the circle, the bear kill was so cool, I love that Van is always by her side as well, and I love the good one and bad one reveal. I feel like this show does a really good job at building up the mystery in a way that it occurs suddenly to me like OH. the good one and bad one the mirrors the dissociative episodes the fact that Sammy wasn’t there and the bad one car crash?? Fantastic.

Jay would be cute if he wasn’t a cop bitch and also a weirdo.

I love that Its drawing them in. One by one they drift together and back and I’m pretty sure they’ll have to go back to the woods and send it back because they brought It with them.

Lottie is dipping into a bit of the dark magick instead of white magick vibes, it felt like they were all being drawn into her protection by joining the prayer circle, but with the frere jaques breastfeeding moment? Ask first girly!! Also Lottie and Travis’ connection is interesting. Still figuring that one out.

I do love that they all are being convienently called out of their lives to go to the retreat like everything pressing can wait for a sec go get good with Lottie I love it tho it’s kinda camp

Van and Tai moments forever. I am such a truth. And adult Van casting is so good, it’s the best yet. (Honorable mentions kevyn, Jeff, and Randy are pretty good. Misty is connected by the energy but not necessarily visually the best match. Melanie looks like Shauna enough) (also I don’t want to talk about the whole crystal misty sitch it’s so shitty)

Van being one of the more connected ones to the magick is so special to me I love her face when she sees Lottie again like she’s coming back to it all instantly
