Daaaang this year (and I mean the full past 12 months, not just since January) have hit my family really hard. I was in a crunch to catch up on my finances, so I haven't had time for art and social media. And JUST when I felt like I was all ready to jump back into gear, we had another death in the family that has thrown everything I thought I was preparing for out the window. It's a bit of a mess, but I'll try not to disappear for so long this time.

The famous Maid of the Mist seen from another boat. I think its funny how there's so much spray coming from Horseshoe Falls that even if we're at the bottom, the Maid looks like it's about to sail off the edge of the world. 😮

I'm not sure where this actually is or if it's got a name or anything, We found it while traveling the back roads near Tahlequah, but it was so pretty.

I was honestly so astounded by this heavy snow that seriously just came out of nowhere. It just felt so magical I had to get a picture of just how heavy it was falling! But at night, it would be impossible to catch on a simple camera phone, so I thought if I tried to get a picture of it in the light of the parking lot, it would show up better. I took a few shots, and looking at this once I got got home was like... Damn that's cool. I have a strange urge to play with the editing software and create all manner of terrible variations of this now. But here's the mostly untouched shot for now.

I love this shot so much. The way the tank is laid out, this octopus is almost always in hiding whether it's the top of the tank or in the rocks. So I was so excited to see it active and unfurled.

Taken at the aquarium in Jenks, Oklahoma. It just happened to be quiet enough to catch this shot through the tank to see the view of the room on the other side. With the first version, I tried to make the water more apparent since it's still really cool to view through, but on the second one, I just really loved the lighting. The series of tanks on the other side seemed to create quite a mood. <3

I'm trying to get better at digital art so I can maybe do more in the future, but to test things out, I decided to experiment with this piece with Terra and Aya from last year. <3

Almost to the end of our winter dive, it doesn't snow here very often.

More snow pics from around the Northeastern State campus. The original picture was uh... I'd call it "crunchy" and I'm not sure how that happened. So I tried to fix it with the editing software ony computer with very different results. I kind of love how the "softer" version here reminds me of pictures from the 70s. (circa 2008)

One of my favorite pictures from my days in college. I wonder if this pretty little gazebo is still there? (circa 2008)

This is actually from 2008, but it seems fitting with the recent snow.
