And Buck… finds himself frowning in confusion. He doesn’t understand what Eddie means, what Eddie’s upset about — other than, presumably, his bad case of food poisoning — but he knows Eddie’s expecting an answer from him, so he asks, "What—what do you mean?"

But Eddie shakes his head. "Nothing,” he lies. “Nothing, just— help me up."

Or, Buck's terrible roommate has a bad case of food poisoning. Buck is Buck — that is, he helps him out.

Eddie’s head is still tilted back against the wall, but his gaze is now trained somewhere ahead. Buck exhales with relief, because it’s easier to be this close to Eddie when he’s not looking at Buck. When Eddie looks at him, it’s just … confusing, for his body, and his idiot heart. A hopeless romantic would believe those damn forums where queers admit to realizing they’re queer because they’re in love with their best friend, who happens to be the same gender they are.

Buck may be hopeless, and he may be romantic, but he is not the two put together. He discovered he’s bisexual the normal way—by kissing a man he’s attracted to. A man who is not his best friend.

“Buck,” Eddie says, and Buck’s chest still gets fluttery when Eddie says his name like that, a low rumble settled deep in his chest. Like it’s at home there. He doesn’t say anyone else’s name like that.

God, how he loves being Evancito. He loves how that sounds rolling off Eddie’s tongue. It’s so full of love, so incredibly fond, sounds so much the unconditional love that he’s been craving ever since he was a kid, when he was just sad, lonely, little Evan. Evancito. He thinks it’s ironic that it literally means little Evan. It’s like Eddie is directly speaking to his inner child, to that seven, eight-year-old boy who sought attention by harming himself on purpose. And it’s incredible, because Buck was sure he’d never be loved like this, fully, completely, wholeheartedly.

I'm really hoping you can help me find this Buddie fic. I think its set after the tsunami but before Buck files the lawsuit. Buck is lonely until May Grant reaches out to him for help with her college essay, I believe. Buck and May get close and he tells her everything going on with not being able to get back to work. May gets then Eddie involved. Eddie then asks Buck to talk to a lawyer that Pepa knows. Buck does end up filing and winning a lawsuit. He and Eddie end up moving stations at the end.

I know that's a lot of details but I've looked for this fic forever. Its kinda driving me insane since I remember everything about it but the name. 😂

sunday morning, got me looking crazy

Buck, for the record, would like to state that he is fine. More than fine actually, his best friend is just dramatic. He reminds everyone of this as they pull into the station and start to clean up from their previous job.

“Yeah Buck, maybe next time you should watch where you’re going,” Hen jokes, exchanging a look with Chim.

He scoffs, despite the slight pain in his knee…

The 118 had responded to a typical first aid call. A family on summer break had been enjoying some time by the pool, and it went south quickly when their son decided to ignore the cardinal rule of swimming—no running near the pool, he hadn’t dried himself off and ran into the house soaked from the pool. He ended up slipping, causing his entire family to follow suit—running about the property soaking wet, leaving trails of water in their wake.

Luckily, the boy was okay, Eddie and Hen checked him out and once they had confirmed he didn’t have a concussion, Bobby instructed Buck to grab some towels and start wiping up the water before anyone else got hurt.

Funny how that works.

Armed with the towels, Buck started to lean down to begin drying the floor when his boot lost its grip and sent him tumbling right on to the floor, towels flying everywhere, one even landing in the kitchen sink. 

“Oof,” Buck hit the tile harder than anticipated, his knee breaking the fall. 

The team froze for a moment, confused about how Buck managed to fall, until Eddie (carefully) crossed the floor, “Buck!”

“Eds, I am fine.” He laid there until Eddie’s wide eyes met his from above.

Hey, so there was a fic that I read forever ago and I've been thinking about it. I can't find it anywhere and I'm not sure if it exists anymore but if you happen to know at least what it's called that would be a great help. Basically Buck leaves the 118 and falls in love with a woman named Tali (I think). She's very sick and dying and lovingly manipulates buck into going back to the 118 so he has a support system. Jee thrusts the card out towards Eddie. “For you,” she says, cheeks dimpling as her smile turns shy.

It reminds Eddie so much of Christopher, when he was this age. So sweet, so earnest. His heart squeezes in his chest as he accepts Jee’s card.

And— it is just about the cutest fucking thing Eddie’s ever seen, honestly.

The card, clearly handmade, is shaped like a bumblebee. A yellow teardrop body, striped with crooked lines of black marker. Its head is shaped like a heart, with two pipe cleaner antennae sticking out, and this teeny tiny u-shaped smile and a pair of googly eyes glued to make up its face. The kicker, though, are the wings — two big, slightly misshapen pink hearts (clearly cut out by Jee-Yun herself) protruding from either side, each with a little message scribbled out in Jee’s loopy handwriting. The one on the left reads “BEE mine” and a grin breaks out across Eddie’s face, an amused chuckle slipping past his lips. The one on the right, though — it brings an embarrassing lump to Eddie’s throat as he reads, “Happy Valentine’s Day Uncle Eddie!”

Turning in his seat, Eddie watched as the pair of husbands quite literally swapped wives, getting rather cozy with their new partner for the evening. And... ok, damn. Sure. Clearing his throat as he turned back around, he was willing to make a partial concession, “Ok. Fine. Maybe those four are, but—”

That’s when Buck got to pointing: “And them. And them. And definitely them.” Each assessment more damning than the last.
