Pineapple Piñata

Super cute homemade pineapple piñata is perfect for a summer fruit fiesta! 

We made it from old cardboard boxes from the supermarket, with yellow streamers of crepe paper, gold paper & lots of glue.

Then we sat back with a large glass of chilled white wine & watched them smh it to pieces- took them ages!

Christmas Gift Wrap

One of the best things about the season of good will is good gift wrapping. Regardless of the gift inside, it’s the wrapping for me that sets the scene, has so much potential & reignites that childhood excitement of christmas.

With white feathers dipped in gold glitter, pompoms made from crepe paper wrapped with bronze glitter tape it’s the type of gift I’m reluctant to unwrap...but I’ll get over that quite quickly!

Thursday is Chinese New Year, it's going to be the Year of the Goat. I got these cake toppers from ebay, super cheap & it took 5 mins to make fairy cakes & attach these - great if you like any excuse to celebrate!

Take Another Little Piece of My Heart

Take another little piece of my heart- give it to your loved one & let them decide which piece they'd like! 

Print out words onto red paper & draw a heart around it . I then used a guillotine to perforate the panels.

Open Your Heart

These home made heart piñatas are easy to make for Valentines day.I made a little opening for a door & attached a quote that can be folded out, e.g.

Nothing is impossible to a willing heart - John Heywood

Keep your heart open to dreams.For as long as there's a dream there's a hope.

Your heart is free, have the courage to follow it.- Braveheart (!)

I shall obviously fill them with suitable sweets/chocolates to avoid disappointment.

The hearts were made by cutting 2 heat shapes from an old cardboard box, & a strip of cardboard about 7 cm wide. Fix them together using masking tape.Using a 5 blade scissors makes the fringing so easy, so fringe stripes of red crepe paper & layer onto the heart , starting at the bottom & working up.

Top tip - do the sides first for a better finish!

Love Struck

Looking for someone to light your fire on Valentines? I love these match boxes. 

We really giggled coming up with the phrases - some ideas just don't work (i.e. Burn Baby Burn ( disco inferno), although my favourite is 'ave you got a light boy', I have no idea how I know that song but it stuck in my head for the rest of the evening...I looked it up on youtube....sad I know.

They are super easy, paint the sides & back of some match boxes ( leaving the strike strip clear ), print out the sheet below, cut to size & stick in the box.
