Hi! The /r/NarutoFanfiction discord server is running a Naruto-themed fanwork exchange! 

We’re going to be co-ordinating everything via dedicated discord channels (must be 13 to join but minors are restricted from accessing the adult/nsfw channels), so if that sounds like something you’d like to take part in, you’ll need to hop onto our server (we’re a friendly bunch!) 

Tagset nominations are just opening and will run until the 5th August. Sign-ups are 5th August to 12th August, and assignments will be out by the 18th. After that you’ll have until the 25th September to finish your work! The minimum word count is just 750 words, although there’s no upper limit. We’re also keen to have artists join. Please message me if you have any questions or want more details!

I’ve updated again! I’m sticking to an update schedule for the first time in my life and so far (i.e. the last two months) it’s gone great. I’m up to thirteen chapters and ~70k words.

Spire: Naruto's hopeful, Sasuke's confused, Kakashi's an alcoholic, and Sakura really doesn't want to die. This wasn't what they'd expected from Ninja life, but as Konoha's enemies gather, there's no time for regrets. A strong Team Seven AU.

Like has been said already, this experience was awesome due multiple things.

I was great to see and read others submissions, very inspirational!! thanks to all the creators for share your works ♥

For me it was the first time to interact with others and to share my works. Thank you very much for the reblogs, likes and comments, they really encourage me to keep doing what I love the most and stoped me from thinking i was not worthy or useless. It was really fun to go out my drawing confort zone and explore another ideas and it was a mental relief during this quarentine.

Thank you to the @naruto-fantasy-week mods Kitty and Shadow, for sharing all the works and for the encouragement words, you are really kind ❤

Naruto Fantasy Week

Things I learned from Naruto Fantasy Week 2020:  - I shouldn’t set myself a pace of ‘write seven one-shots in three weeks’  - My ‘desperation’ words/day is actually super high  - In future, I should scrap the first thing I write (I still don’t like Echoes and it was the earliest one-shot I put together - but due to time constraints I couldn’t replace it)  - Some sort of structure is good - I wanted to write one one-shot set in each of the five main villages, and then one Warring Clans-era story (Kindling) and one that didn’t have a village system at all (Familiarity)  - It’s really hard to find a good stopping point for a short story. I could easily have turned Undershining into a long fic, and likewise for Castellum and Kindling.  - Some of those stories ended up only tangentially related to either Naruto or the specific prompt, but those were some of my favourite ones to write.  - I should probably get a tumblr account.  - Theme weeks are super fun! Massive props to the mods for getting everything set up/organised and executing so well. I’m really hyped for next year too!

The news anchor is visibly sweating as he reads the note he’s received live on air.

“Sixteen people were injured and, tragically, four have died. The collapse of the bridge was caused by an explosive charge placed by a man using the pseudonym ‘Deidara’. Not much is known about him, although this note was recovered from the scene.”

A picture of a note is briefly shown on screen. ‘Deidara, C4 on Bridge’ it says, formatted like a mockery of an artist’s attribution in a gallery.

Kurotsuchi, a mage-cum-architect, spends her career rebuilding everything Deidara has destroyed. Step by step, she gets closer to the enigmatic terrorist.

Jousting is derived from Old French *joster* , ultimately from Latin *iuxtare* "to approach, to meet".

Gaara nods at the appropriate moments, but his attention is elsewhere.

Riding in an open carriage is the most word-fumblingly beautiful woman in the world. Her hair is a river of gold, the dimples on her cheeks could make a dead man weep with joy. Her feathery turquoise-and-silver gown brings to mind airy forests, and bright streams plunging into deep pools of mirror-smooth darkness.

Gaara doesn’t care about her. His eyes are fixed on the second woman in the carriage – more of a girl, really. She has a bandage on one hand, covering a scraped palm, and her pink hair is held back with a sweat-stained strip of leather. Her nose is turned up at the tip, just the tiniest amount, and the slightest dark smudges under her eyes show she hasn’t slept so well. Oh, and she has pink hair.

Familiarity by Dakeyras

Sometimes Kakashi worries he’s coddling the boy. His own father was a brutal taskmaster, and one of Kakashi’s worst memories is of an archery session where he was too short to draw the bow back. “Make bullseyes, not excuses, boy,” his father had thundered.

Kakashi had learned from the experience, though. Naruto wasn’t allowed to touch any of the sharp weapons until he was six.

(Or: Kakashi is pretty sure he’s doing the right thing, most of the time anyway, but kids are *complicated*)
