Sexuality
Mark smiled at all of the screaming fans on the floor bellow the stage. Sweat dripped from his forehead as he gazed out at the sea of screaming NCTzens, posters, and signs held high in hopes of being noticed. They had fulfilled their purpose.
Yuta and Taeyong were taking turns pointing out signs, waving and winking at the fans that held them, making them squeal louder. Johnny, Jaehyun, and Haechan were goofing off with the fans, asking weird questions like “who likes fish more than pizza?” Taeil and Doyoung were in another corner, singing ballads to the fans and grinning when they screamed louder. It was chaos. It was family.
But Mark couldn’t stop that gut wrenching feeling as he watched his bandmates, so secure in who they were.
After the concert would be the fan sign. Mark was looking forward to having a few minutes to meet his fans one and one and have a quick conversation with them. Maybe that would clear a few things up. There were quite a few cute fans. Maybe he’d decide to give his phone number to one. He doubted it though.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The fan sign last about three hours before the last fan came and went. They were all really cute and Mark loved watching them smile and giggle. But he didn’t feel a romantic connection.
He wouldn’t be worried if it weren’t for the fact that hehad  felt a romantic connection. But it was when the rest of 127 all got home to the large dorm they’d all decided to share. Sitting on the couch was his romantic connection. But it wasn’t supposed to be.
“Welcome home!” Lucas called from his spot lounging on the couch, long legs propped up on the coffee table.
Mark gave a half hearted wave at the male and made his way to his room, face to the floor until he almost smacked into a wall.
“Mark, are you ok?” Taeyong asked.
He was the one that had wrapped an arm around Mark’s waist to stop him from hitting the wall at the last minute. The action made him blush.
He mumbled something incoherent and made a beeline for his room, slamming the door and leaning against it.
‘Finally, I’m safe!’
He had forgotten that he had roommates. Thankfully only one was currently in there.
“Hey, are you ok?” Doyoung asked.
Mark couldn’t lie. Not to Doyoung.
He shook his head and slowly slid down the door. When his butt rested on the floor, he pulled his knees to his chest and buried his face in them, his eyes pricking with tears.
“Whoa! Markie! What’s wrong?” Doyoung asked, quickly making his way to the door.
He quickly locked the door so Haechan couldn’t come in and sat beside Mark, pulling him close.
“I didn’t find any of the fans attractive!” he sobbed.
Doyoung gave him a quizzical look.
“That’s alright, Markie, you’re not a bad person or idol if you don’t find them attractive as long as you love them and appreciate them,” he said.
Mark shook his head.
“It’s not that. I wasn’t romantically attracted to any of them. I couldn’t see myself wanting to date any of them,” he said.
He really didn’t want to have to say it.
Doyoung rubbed the youngers arm gently.
“I didn’t either. It’s alright, you’ll meet someone you’re attracted to some-”
“No! There is someone I’m attracted to! But I shouldn’t be!” Mark cut him off, balling his fists in his own hair.
Doyoung was even more confused. He didn’t know what to do with Mark. He looked so vulnerable and sad. Maybe he ought to get his best friend up here to help. Maybe that would help calm him down.
“Want me to get Lucas to come talk to you?” he asked, moving to get up.
Mark’s face flushed bright red and he gripped Doyoung’s wrist tightly. Surprise filled Doyoung at the sudden burst, but then, he understood.
“Oh Markie,” he cooed, pulling the younger into his arms, Mark blushed brighter.
He desperately wanted the floor to open and swallow him up so he wouldn’t have to deal with the torment that would surely follow now that a group member knew his feelings. Then again, this was Doyoung they were talking about. Doyoung wouldn’t do that.None of them would really.
“Why are you so ashamed about liking Lucas?” Doyoung asked.
Mark was almost speechless. He thought it would have been obvious.
“Because guys are supposed to like girls! Not other guys!” he said.
“Says who? You can like who you want.”
Mark let out a low cry.
“I’ll be the only one in the dorm that likes a guy though!” he whimpered.
Doyoung couldn’t help what he did next. He blurted out a loud, bellowing laugh that had Mark shrinking in on himself again in Doyoung’s arms.
“Dear, sweet Markie. You really are blind,” he laughed.
This surprised Mark. Why was he blind.
“You really haven’t noticed the tender kisses between Johnny and Ten? The passion between Yuta and Taeil? You haven’t noticed that every single member in this group apart from Jaehyun and you is into guys?
This truly came as a surprise to Mark.
“B-but they all were flirting with the fans...” he muttered.
Doyoung rolled his eyes.
“That’s called fan service. We love making the fans feel good and they love us. Sure, we flirt with them, but even if we were into the girls we flirt with, there’s lots of them and only 21 of us,” he said.
Mark nodded. He was finally understanding. Or at least he thought so.
“Oh, and by the way, Lucas likes you too. He just thought you were straight. Now go tell him how you feel,” he said, getting up off the floor and dusting his pants off
Mark soon followed. He took a deep breathe and unlocked the door. He pulled the door open and was about to walk out when he bumped into a large chest.
“Is it true?” Lucas asked.
Mark looked down at his feet, embarrassed.
He felt a large finger slide under his chin and tilt his head.
“Is it true? You like me?” Lucas asked again.
Staring into those beautiful eyes, Mark couldn’t lie, but he was too stunned to speak, so he just nodded.
A giant smile broke across Lucas’ lips and he held Mark’s chin in place as he leaned down and captured Mark’s perfectly inexperienced lips in a soft, chaste kiss that left Mark breathless as he brought his hands up with rest on the taller’s shoulders as lips moved together perfectly.
“Taeyong! You owe me 20 bucks!” Doyoung yelled from inside the room.
It didn’t kill the moment. Mark and Lucas simply ignored him. They ignored Taeyong, who grumbled and attempted to squeeze through the blocked doorway to hand over the money, before giving up and stepping back into the hall.
“Don’t make me give you two ground rules like Kun and I laid down for the sex rabbits down the hall,” Taeyong said, glaring at the door that housed Taeil and Yuta.
His comment went unnoticed as Mark slowly pulled away from the kiss.
“I really like you,” he whispered before being pulled back into a kiss.

Puppy Love
Tumblr media
01: Kai Centric
This is a BxB ongoing fanfic. Read if you like BxB~
Sehun is a cat person. He simply preferred the small, fluffy animals that avoided human contact for most of the day. He wanted something warm to cuddle up with, but something that didn’t require his attention 24/7. He longed for a companion that he could leave at home along and not have to worry about cleaning up after it. Sehun is a cat person.
Jongin, on the other hand, was not. Jongin is a dog person. He liked the constant “in your face,” everyday life of a dog. He liked the bouncing and obedience and constant love. He wanted something that wouldn’t just cuddle with him, but would give his cheek kisses in the morning. He wanted to come home and walk his companion, clean up after it if it had an accident. Jongin is a dog person.
The two were polar opposites, but best friends, and living together in the same apartment they shared with their other, much quieter friend, Minseok. Things were great with the three of them, spending their evenings watching the news or a television show, taking turns cooking, and just generally hanging out. But the peace was disturbed the day two new permanent houseguests joined the three.
[C]
Jongin held the squirming bundle in his arms and unlocked the door to his apartment. No one else would be home for another hour so that gave him plenty of time to prepare the speech he was going to give to his best friends about their new guest.
“Let’s give you a bath first cutie, so when Minnie and Hunnie see you, they don’t kill me for your dirty fur,” Jongin cooed to the squirming animal.
He carried the small thing into the bathroom and put her in the sink, running warm water and bathing the creature in the cherry smelling pet shampoo. He gently scrubbed her fur gently until the water was black with grime and her yellow fur was clean. He pulled her out of the sink and wrapped her in a fluffy towel, drying her off before letting her down to run through the apartment.
He laughed and went to his room to change shirts when he heard the door open. Slight fear pricked through him. No one was supposed to be home, but Sehun was going to kill him if he saw the puppy bounding out the him.
“Oh hey little puppy, where did you come from?” Jongin’s ears pricked at the voice and he groaned.
“How’d you get in here Baekhyun?” he asked, coming into the front room where the man in question stood still in his work clothes.
“My sweet Minnie gave me a key,” he said in a sickeningly sweet voice.
Jongin groaned again. Of course Minseok would give his annoying boyfriend a key to their apartment and forget to tell Jongin and Sehun.
“You know your little boyfriend is going to be so mad!” Baekhyun cackled.
A blush coated Jongin’s cheeks.
“Sehun is not my boyfriend,” he muttered, picking up the fluffy animal that was not dancing around his feet.
“Not yet,” Baekhyun winked pushing past Jongin and walking to Minseok’s room.
Jongin rolled his eyes and carried the animal into his room. He placed her down on his bed and stroked her fur gently. He tried to prepare himself for what he would tell Minseok and Sehun when they got home from work, but playing with his new playmate had his mind blank.
He wasn’t expecting it when the door to the apartment opened.
“I’m home!” Sehun called through the apartment.
Jongin swallowed thickly and opened his door, keeping his new friend back with his foot and walked out to greet Sehun. He stopped in his tracks when he was faced with a Baekhyun laying across their couch wearing a short, pink dress.
“Baekhyun… what the HELL are you doing on our couch dressed like that?!” Sehun yelled once he got over initial shock.
“Don’t pretend this isn’t the highlight of your day,” Baekhyun sassed back.
Jongin rolled his eyes and stepped closer, nerves wracking his body.
Baekhyun turned to look at him and smirked before he got up and ran to Minseok’s room.
“So… how was work?” Jongin asked.
He wanted to try to get Sehun back in a good mood before laying on the news of their new houseguest.
“Oh it was great! One of the cashiers has a cat who had kittens three months ago and so they were up for adoption. So I followed her back to her place and got us a kitten!” Sehun said excitedly, pulling a black and white kitten out of his jacket where he’d been trying to keep it warm.
Jongin paled. This was not good for him, but he had to tell Sehun sooner or later.
“Well… That’s… interesting,” he said awkwardly.
Sehun put down the small shopping bag he’d been holding and walked into the conjoining kitchen to get a bowl for the kitten’s food.
“How was your day?” he asked, setting the kitten down to explore.
Jongin gulped. It was now or never.
“Well… The clinic was pretty quiet today. No pets in distress in the clinic… but on my walk home I stumbled upon a little puppy shivering in the cold, limping…” he began.
Sehun nodded and crouched down, petting the kitten.
“Did you take him to the animal shelter?” he asked.
Jongin rung his hands. “Not exactly,” he said.
Sehun looked up in curiosity.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
Jongin opened his bedroom door and the little Labrador puppy came bounding out excitedly.
Sehun looked shocked for a moment before his face flushed red in furry.
“KIM JONGIN! HOW COULD YOU GET A PUPPY?! YOU KNOW I’M A CAT PERSON!” he screamed.
Jongin felt anger boil up.
“HOW COULD YOU GET A CAT?! YOU KNOW I’M A DOG PERSON!” he shouted back.
The door opened again and a tired looking Minseok walked in. He looked between his two furious roommates, then to the kitten and puppy running around the apartment.
“Baekhyun! Get dressed! We’re going to your place!” he called, walking towards his door.
Baekhyun walked out still in his dress and wearing a pout on his face.
“But I dressed up for you,” he whined.
That was all Minseok needed to see. He took off his coat, hanging it on the coat hanger before pushing Baekhyun back in his bedroom and turning on his playlist. He opened the door only briefly to put a sock on his door.
Jongin rubbed his forehead in frustration.
“I’m not getting rid of Daisy. And I know you’re not getting rid of your kitten. So we’re going to have to learn to compromise,” Jongin offered.
Sehun still held his furious look.
“His name is Haru,” he growled, picking the kitten up and stalking off to his room.
Jongin sighed and put his head in his hands. That could have definitely gone better. But he didn’t have much time to dwell. Daisy bounced at his feet, attempting to hop up in his lap. She was too little and inexperienced to yet jump in his lap.
Jongin bent down and picked the puppy up, holding her in his lap and stroking her fur.
“Don’t worry cutie. I’ll love you enough for the both of us,” he said to her.
She excitedly wagged her tail and stood on her hind legs on his thighs. She put her front paws on his chest and licked at his chin happily before curling up in his lap for a nap.
Jongin laughed as she licked his chin and cooed as she curled up in his lap. He continued to pet her fur happily. Her fur was fluffy to the touch now that she was clean. He felt his heart swell with love for the puppy.
“Momma and papa are going to take such good care of you and your brother in there with your papa,” Jongin cooed to the puppy.
His cheeks tinted pink.
“That is, if I can ever muster up enough courage to confess to Sehun and face the rejection,” he said softly, kissing the puppies head.
He closed his eyes and leaned against the couch, relaxing until he fell asleep with the puppy on his lap.

Wolf’s Pride
01: The Journey

Ara
College wasn’t an easy achievement, at least for students that actually wanted to make something of themselves. Ara was a hard working student that made her way to the top of her classes, but she was definitely not the most popular girl in university.
Ara was a bit of an airhead. She always had her nose stuck in a romance novel about the supernatural, vampires, mermaids, dragons, and werewolves, which wasn’t the worst of it. Not only did she read it, but she believed that such creatures existed in a world, a notion that freaked other students out.
After the bloodbath hundreds of years ago, the government covered the realism in the event, claiming it was a squander of natives that murdered the majority of the explorers in cold blood. That was the end of it.
The country moved on and any allegation of the existence werewolves was long forgotten by everyone except for the widows killed in the bloodbath. They believed their husbands and raised their children with the dreams of werewolves.
Ara was the decedent of one of the men, raised to believe in the supernatural, but unlike the other decedents, she was determined to find the wolves again. Growing up with stories of their bravado, charming natures, and living off the land. She changed her lifestyle to copy what she’d learned through the legends and the books she’d read throughout the years of her life.
She longed to be off on her own, to travel the country until she came across the wolves again, but she’d promised her mother that she would at least finish college before she ran off to find the wolves.
Ara was 16 when her mother died from breast cancer. Even on her death bed, her mother could see the spark in her, the desire to live like the wolves. She knew that nothing would kill that spirit in her daughter, but she also knew that her father would never understand, growing up without the legends and calling the stories phony.
Ara honored the promise she’d made to her mother, so when graduation day finally came, she walked proudly across the stage. She was proud that she’d accomplished university, sure, but her heart soared at the thought of finally moving on and doing what she truly dreamed of.
Taking her seat, her black graduation gown fluttered against her legs, her feet aching in the strappy flats her aunt hand forced her in. She paid attention as other names were called, eagerly awaiting the moment the ceremony would officially end and she could finally begin her journey.
The ending finally came and Ara rushed to find her family, all wearing bright and proud smiles, all except her father, who wore a face of sadness.
“Congratulations sis!” her little brother said, hugging her.
She laughed excitedly and hugged his smaller body back before giving the rest of her relatives hugs and making their way to the car.
“When are you expecting me to drop you off at the tree line?” her father asked once they were safely in the cars.
Everyone went silent. They all knew that the day was coming when she would leave all of her things behind and make her journey through the forest in an attempt to find the forgotten pack.
“Tomorrow at dawn,” she said.
She wanted one more night to sleep in a bed with the family that she would most likely never see again.
And then it was decided. The family grilled out that night, making all of her favorites and having a small party with loud music and lots of dancing. She almost suspected that her family was making an attempt to get her to stay, but she knew that, although the journey was dangerous and the chances of her dying were likely, she had to make an attempt to find the wolves.
“Are you sure about this? The journey is going to be tough. Can you live without everyday appliances?” her aunt asked as they sat at the table together.
Ara sighed and rested her head on her aunts shoulder.
“The only thing I’m going to miss is you guys. I can live without everything else,” she said.
Arms enveloped her and she found herself being rocked back and forth.
“Your mother would be so proud,” her aunt whispered.
The night went by in a flash, way too fast for Ara to keep up or truly appreciate it, but the next morning, she rose early and began packing a few changes of clothes in a travel backpack. She stuffed it with parcels of food, two bottles currently full of water, three knives, a lighter, lighter fluid, a large nylon rope, a compass and a mini saw. She also stuffed small pictures of her families in her bag and carried a few books with her. The last item going in her backpack was a map handed down from generations, charting the territory the wolves had once called home, and a current map to make her way through the new adjustments.
She dressed in a pair of shorts, a tank top, and hiking shoes, a jacket tied around her waist in case it got cold. She hoisted the heavy bag on her back and met her father at the door. She’d said goodbye to the rest of her family the night before. All that was left was to gather the strength to go.
Leading her to the car, her father kissed her head, tears in his eyes before he got in the driver’s seat and made his way down the road. It had already been decided that, since she planned to scope out the first area they’d been in hundreds of years ago, he would drop her off as close as he could get, which was well over a hundred miles from their house.
“You’re mother always had dreams of finding the pack. When she married me, those were squashed,” he started.
Ara had heard this many times before, especially when she was being reprimanded for thinking of leaving at such a young age.
“I know,” she said.
Her father sighed and shook his head.
“You know that I don’t want you to go,” he said.
She nodded.
“But I am very proud of you for sticking to your dream, even though it means that my eldest daughter will be roaming the woods alone, looking for a legend that may not exist anymore,” he said.
“Dad, you know they exist. You’ve heard the stories. No one is clever enough to make that up,” she said.
“Anymore. I have no doubt that werewolves did exist at one point. But it had been close to 700 years since that happened. For all we know, the pack was all slaughtered in the bloodbath,” he said.
Ara finally understood what he was saying, but she knew they were still out there.
“They didn’t” she said.
“How do you know?”
“I don’t for sure. But I feel it in my heart. It’s the same thing that’s drawing me to take on this journey. I just know that they are still out there.”
The conversation was soon dropped. Her father had no more words other than his silent plea for her to be careful and to return home to them one day.
Finally reaching their destination, her father pulled off on the side of the road and hugged his daughter tightly, saying his goodbye before she was out of the car with her bag. With a final wave, she disappeared into the trees, leaving her father to drive home alone.
A surge of happiness filled her heart as she looked around the green forest now surrounding her. She finally felt free to be herself. She glanced at the maps and pulled her compass out, putting the chain around her neck for easy access as she followed the compass toward the place she believed had once been the spot for the pack.
This was the beginning of a truly long and trying journey, but she was eager. She was hopeful that she would find the pack in the city they’d once lived in. She doubted it, but something told her that she would find her answers soon enough.
The Pack
Junmyeon bowed before the elders of his pack, completely bare except for the necklace woven of vines around his neck.
“Kim Junmyeon, do you swear to protect this pack with every fiber of your being? Do you swear to be the strongest of all of us, to keep us safe, and guide us with your wisdom? Do you swear to be a leader, a teacher, and a parent to all of us?” one of the elders spoke loudly.
A fire roared around them as the members of the pack looked in amazement and joy at the ceremony going on before their eyes.
“I do,” Junmyeon spoke.
“Then we, the elders, declare you, Kim Junmyeon as our new alpha, the new leader that will be guided by the elders and previous pack alphas that still remain with us. Rise, and pick up your stature as our pack alpha,” another elder said.
With the orders, Junmyeon rose and everyone in the pack gave a courteous bow before two members draped robes over his bare frame, the ceremony coming to an end.
“Thank you Baekhyun, Chanyeol,” he whispered to them.
The two returned to their seats and Junmyeon smiled at the familiar faces.
“Let the feast begin!” he announced.
Hungry werewolves made their way to the large table where plenty of meat was stacked for the taking. Junmyeon sat on one of the benches near his friends to watch the others begin to eat. He caught a whiff of something not on the menu and stuck his nose in the air, a smile finding its way to his lips.
“What is it?” one of his best friends, Minseok, asked.
“I smell her again,” he said.
The twelve men surrounding him let out “oo’s” and laughed heartily.
“Is she getting close?” another, Yifan, asked.
Junmyeon sniffed the air again.
“I can’t tell how close she is, but she is closer than she was yesterday,” he said.
“I don’t understand how a wolf couldn’t have sniffed out her mate yet like you have,” another friend, Jongdae said.
The other’s nodded in agreeance but Junmyeon hummed.
“I don’t think she’s a wolf,” he said.
The other’s froze.
“Then what is she? To be way out here and not far from tracking us down?” the concerned voice of Yixing, asked.
It was serious when Yixing showed this much concern.
“I think she’s human,” Junmyeon said.
This earned a lot of gasps from the group.
“What is she’s evil?! Like the other humans from the stories were?!” Baekhyun asked in alarm.
“Not all humans are bad you know. I’m a human,” a voice interrupted them.
“But Mrs. Zhang, you’re part human,” Jongin said.
The lady shook her head and walked over to her son, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.
“My ancestors ought to teach you better than to judge humans based on what a corrupt government does. If you haven’t forgotten, Zhang Alu was a good human, as were the others. This girl could be good too. And if she is truly Junmyeon’s mate, she will conform to the land just as the first humans did,” she said.
The wise lady walked away from the group, pulling her son with her as they walked up to the table.
“She’s right guys. Human or not, she is my mate. When she arrives, we will treat her kindly unless she shows hostility,” Junmyeon said.
With that, the group made their way to the feast table, ripping bits of meat off of deer and turkey carcasses and joining the rest of their pack in jubilant chatter. Junmyeon sat amongst the elders and sniffed at the air again.
“Father, would you hate me if my mate was a human?” he asked the man beside him.
“My son, we have feared the humans of the outside for so long, but times are not the same. I do not know if much has changed to them, but if a human wanders into our pack searching for us, and she isn’t a threat, then she deserves the same welcome our ancestors gave the good humans,” the man said.
Junmyeon felt at ease with the answer. He bit into his food and watched over his pack happily as he waited for his mate that would soon find them.

Wolf’s Pride
Tumblr media
00: Prologue
Hundreds of years ago, our ancestors made a wondrous discovery that shocked the forming nations. One summer in Southeast Asian, explorers were marking the land, dividing up what could be owned and what was meant to remain a part of the land. While surveying, the men stumbled upon grounds that they’d never even seen on maps; a slice of the country that shouldn’t have existed... but did.
The land was surrounded by thick trees with leaves that branched down and hid the territory, but the explorers pushed through, entering onto plush green grounds that looked very much like the territory of the natives long before the nation expanded it’s knowledge.
Intrigued by the findings, the explorers left, only to return the next day with twice their numbers, eager to survey the land and put the territory on the map. On this day, a man, by the name of Kim Alu, wandered away from the group of explorers, coming upon a creek bed with strange footprints. There, he saw tracks that resembled the footprints of a man, but, that same track led to footprints that resembled a large animal.
Confused at the findings, Alu called a small group of explorers to follow the trail with him. The small group of four men followed the tracks over the creek and down into a valley, where they began to smell smoke. Hiding in the trees, the followed their noses and the feet until they came upon a large wooden building in the middle of a field. Peering around the building, they found several smaller ones, ranging from ones that looks like huts, ones that looked like houses, and ones that looked like hotels. It was a little city in the middle of a field.
The city was not abandoned. Men, women, and children roamed around in the grass, some returning from the forest on the other side, some carrying pales of water, and some talking to others. It was a paradise. Alu convinced his group to go down into the city to talk to the people populating the area when something strange happened before their very eyes. A man, previously talking to two young boys, transformed himself into a giant gray wolf with huge feet, the children transformed soon after, turning into little pups before the three of them ran off.
Horrified, the group argued with Alu about entering the grassy city, but Alu was a persistent man. After a short quarrel, he had convinced the other three to follow him into the city to talk to whoever was in charge, but when an agreement was made, a twig snapping stopped them in their tracks.
Turning around, they came face to face with a very tall man. He had long black hair and the beginning of a mustache. His chest and legs were bare, his only clothing was a cotton cloth shaped like boxers to cover his most private of areas.
“Out of the clearing. My pack would love to eat- I mean meet you,” he said, his voice strong.
With shaking knees, the men followed the man out of their hiding place, peeking around him to watch the expressions on the faces of the men and women as they passed. Most bowed to the man in front of them, some just stood there, but none of them seemed focused on Alu and his group.
“Everyone, I found visitors lurking in the woods. They were eager to meet you. Treat them with respect,” the man spoke, loudly.
“But alpha! They’re humans!” a female voice cried.
“Let them alone. My husband knows what he’s doing,” another female voice said.
The men were met with a young woman walking out from the crowd no surrounding them. She was beautiful. She had long, dark brown hair and was wearing a white dress that clearly highlighted her very pregnant belly. She walked up to the man that led them and kissed his lips before turning to the group.
“My name is Zhang Amara , this is my husband, Zhang SeokShin. Welcome to our pack,” she spoke again.
The group greeted her with smiles.
“My name is Kim Alu, this is Ling Hanseok, Oh Jeong, and Jeon Seokhyung. We are explorers. We discovered this place despite it not being on a map,” Ling said.
That was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
The group brought back all of their other researchers to the pack and they began to learn all the could about the werewolves that lived there. Slowly, a bond between the two people was established and the wolf pack was allowed to follow them back to the city to take explore the new territory.
Neither group knew that their government was corrupt. It did not want changes made into the system, so, when the explorers came home before bringing the pack, the leaders of the country devised a sick plan to rid the world once and for all of both groups.
One the way back to the city, the group, consisting of explorers and werewolves, was ambushed by the country military, wiping out several of the people. Explorers fell beside werewolves, never to awaken again.
Some of the pack and some of the explorers managed to escape, among them, Alu and Amara.
The thinned group took shelter in a cave, not too far from the pack territory, to settle for the night. Only four explorers and eight werewolves remained, and, without an alpha, who’s body lay lifeless among the dead, killed by protecting his pregnant wife.
Things only grew worse. Hidden in the cave, away from any help, and now a widow, Amara went into labor. With everyone helping as they could, several hours later, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy, whom she named Aluseok, after his father
A few years later, when the boy was 18, he became the new leader of the pack, standing by his mother and step father, Alu, and becoming a man as brilliant and kind as his father was.
“And that’s why our pack doesn’t trust many humans anymore,” the teacher said, putting down his pointer.
“But we still trust some right, just like grandma?” a young girl asked.
“How many humans do we still have in our pack,” a young boy asked.
“Well, we do still have humans, yes, but most of them mated with werewolves, having quarter children,” the teacher answered.
Most of the children nodded in understanding but the same young boy had one more question to ask.
“What is mating?” he asked.
This intrigued a lot of the students. The teacher, a little shaken, shook her head and sighed.
“That, Junmyeon, is a tale for another day, when you’re all way older,” she said fondly.

05: The Working Plan
Word Count: 1,250
Getting the plan together without Jongin knowing was proving to be harder than you would have thought. Throughout the week, as things began getting done one by one, he kept begging for the members’ attention. You felt bad for him. He was hurt too. He’d been though the ringer because of the stupid plan you had been forced into. Now the others were avoiding him because none of them could keep a secret.
As the day of the plan itched closer, you became more and more anxious. Nerves settled in your stomach and a flurry of thoughts surrounded your mind. What if he rejected you? What if he laughed in your face? What if he walked out?
“Are you ready? It’s time to go,” Minseok said, knocking on your bedroom door.
Today was the day and your doubts were louder than they’d ever been.
“I can’t do this,” you said, taking a deep breath.
The door opened and your brother walked in.
“Sure you can. You’ve prepared. Everything is ready,” he said.
You looked at him and shook your head.
He sighed and walked over to you, wrapping his arms around your middle. You felt yourself relax into the hug.
“You can do this. Everything will be ok,” he said.
“What if he rejects me or hates me more?” you asked.
He shook his head and pat your head.
“Everything will be ok. I know for a fact that he doesn’t hate you.”
“How do you know?”
“He told Baekhyun and Chanyeol that he was just upset and he didn’t hate you.”
You felt a little relieved. Even if he rejected you, at least there was still a chance that you could still be friends.
“I’m ready.”
He let you go and you walked over to your closet, grabbing a pair of white, strappy sandals that would match your dress. Your dress was light purple, spaghetti straps holding on your shoulders, the cotton material creating a v-line at your chest, dipping down the expose your chest a little but not far enough to show off any cleavage. A band of elastic circled your ribs right under your breasts. From the elastic down, the dress flowed softly down, stopping an inch above your knees.
You strapped the sandals on your feet and Minseok led you out the door where Jongdae, Kyungsoo, and Junmyeon were waiting.
“It’s about time,” Jongdae scoffed.
You slapped him in the back of the head.
“He and Sehun should be getting down at the bubble tea shop soon and Sehun will send him down the road to Namsan Tower. You need to hurry down there.  Chanyeol has already given him the flowers, Kyungsoo and I made him his breakfast with the ring too. The only thing left is Namsan tower with Jongdae, Minseok, and Baekhyun where he’ll meet up with you. Go now. Yixing will meet you at the bottom after it’s done,” Junmyeon said.
You took a deep breath and hurried down the stairs. The others followed you, Kyungsoo handing you a messenger bag full of everything you’d need for the tower that Minseok head rented out for the day. You hugged them all goodbye and headed outside to the taxi that was waiting to take you to the Namsan tower.
Arriving at the tower, you stepped out of the taxi and paid the fare before making your way up the tower steps. You were lucky it was a cool day to illuminate too much sweating and smudging the makeup that Baekhyun had wrestled onto you this morning after Jongin had left with Sehun.
Once you reached the top, you looked over the side. The city below was beautiful from this height. You wished you could take a moment to enjoy it, but you had no time. Sehun and Jongin were, no doubt, almost at the tower.
You reached into the messenger back and pulled our three white candles and a lighter. You lined them up on the railing and lit them, putting them in separate spots on the rail. You reached back into the back and pulled out three handfuls of rose pedals, sprinkling them on the surface floor.
“Why are we hear?” you heard Jongin’s voice.
Nerves swarmed your stomach, but you tried your best to push them back.
“Shut up and come on,” Sehun answered.
You sweated. Sehun was not supposed to be here too. That maknae was going to mess things up and make you more nervous.
“Ok, here is where I leave you,” you heard him say.
“Thank goodness,” you muttered to yourself.
You heard footsteps land on the last few steps and braced yourself for Jongin’s arrival.
“What the-” he’d seen a candle that you’d put near the entrance.
You heard him walk closer and swallowed the rest of your nerves. He peered around the corner and there he was, standing in front of you, looking shocked and confused.
“What’s going on?” he asked.
You heard three more sets a feet climbing up.
“What Jongdae and I did was wrong and I apologize for that. There was no excuse for something like that, trying to make you jealous. I don’t know why I didn’t try to end it sooner,” you began.
“(Y/N)-” he tried to cut you off.
Three voice cut him off before he could say anything. Minseok, Jongdae, and Baekhyun were harmonizing behind you, singing angelic notes.
“It was stupid, but I did it because I have a major crush on you. Actually no, not even that. I am falling in love with you and I guess I thought I had no shot with you because you’re perfect and well... yeah,” nerves were swallowing you up fast.
Jongin sighed and looked at you, crossing his arms.
“Yes, it was stupid,” he said.
You felt your heart break more and you opened your mouth to speak, but he held a hand up to stop you.
“But I understand why you did it. I’m sorry I got so mad. I was just frustrated because the girl I was falling in love with didn’t tell me how she was feeling and made me believe she liked someone else,” he said, smiling.
It took you a minute to recognize what he said, but when you did, he had already crossed the floor. His eyes weren’t on you, they were behind you and you noticed that Minseok had stopped singing. You turned around slightly to look at your brother.
“Don’t hurt my sister or I’ll hurt you,” he said.
You smiled at him, proud that your brother had finally let go. You turned back around to face Jongin, surprised by how close he was now.
“Kim (Y/N), will you be mine?” he asked.
You were speechless. You didn’t know what to say. So, you just nodded.
Jongin smiled and leaned closer, you followed his movement, meeting him halfway. A second later, his lips were pressed against yours in a sweet, romantic kiss.
The kiss lasted a few seconds before Minseok’s loud wail broke you apart.
“I don’t wanna see that!” he whined, “crying” in Jongdae’s arms.
You shook your head and took Jongin’s hand, entwining your fingers.
“Come on, waiter Yixing is waiting at a restaurant for us,” you said, leading him down the steps.
You held hand the whole way there, basking in the glow of a new, blossoming relationship that would last for three years before you were walking down the aisle in a white dress, meeting him at the alter.

Brother’s Best Friend
Tumblr media
04: Change of Opinion
Word Count: 1,320
That night, you stayed in your room crying into your pillow. You could no longer even blame Jongdae. This was your fault. You shouldn’t have hesitated when Jongdae first began this jealousy scheme. Then this never would have happened and you wouldn’t blurted the truth out. Maybe even then you’d have half a chance with Jongin.
“He said he had a crush on me!” you wailed in the pillow.
You knew there was no chance of that now. Not after you pulled this. He’d never forgive you. Even if he did, there was no chance he’d continue to like you. You were head over heals for him. That made things hurt even more.
There was a knock on the door and you just grunted. Maybe they’d leave.
You should have known better. When it came to your brother, he had an intuition that led him when to be a bother and when to leave you alone. You wanted to be left alone, but you knew that wasn’t what you needed.
A key was inserted into the lock and you heard it open before the door creaked open. As your suspicious told you, Minseok was standing at the door.
“Can I come in?” he asked.
You rolled your eyes.
“Seems to me your already in,” you grumbled.
He shut the door and made his way over to your bed. He sat down on the edge and rested a hand on your back.
“What do you want?” you asked.
“Straight to the point I see,” he made an attempted joke.
“Don’t play around Minseok. I am not in the mood,” you warned.
You heard him sigh.
“Why did you do it?” he asked.
He wasn’t specific, but you knew what he was asking.
“Jongdae knew how I felt about Jongin... It was his idea to do it. I didn’t want to, but I also didn’t stop it in front of Jongin...”
He nodded and I felt the blankets shift. He crawled under the blankets and wrapped an arm around you. You moved to rest your head on his shoulder, eyes finally dried.
“Why didn’t you tell me how you felt?” he asked.
You scoffed.
“As if I could tell you that I was falling in love with one of your band mates,” you said.
He froze at your words.
“Falling in love?” he whispered.
It was then that you realized what you’d said. Putting your hands to your lips and gasping, but now there was no taking it back, so you just nodded.
You felt him let out a deep sigh.
“Your my baby sister. It hurts me to let you go into someone else’s arms,” he said.
You nodded. You understood. You were younger than he was, having recently turned 23, but you were just as protective over him, something their fans both adored and hated, especially when you got between them and Minseok.
“I understand oppa, but... I deserve for you to let me find my own way, into the arms of the man I fall in love with and who loves me too... which... doesn’t seem like it’s going to be Jongin...” you mumbled the last part.
Your heart just thinking about the horrible mistake you made, pushing Jongin away and changing the way he felt about you with just one mistake.
Hands rubbed your back soothingly and you felt him press a kiss you your head.
“Well, maybe we can work something out,” he said.
You shook your head.
“It’s hopeless. He probably hates me now,” you said sadly.
Minseok hugged you tighter and you felt tears well in your eyes again.
“How about we do things my way? A plan that I come up with,” he suggested.
You had to admit, it sounded enticing, but, all of this was coming from your brother, the man who, only about an hour or so ago, had been standing in front of the others, yelling at the boys for showing interest in you.
“Hmm... What’s in it for you?” you asked suspiciously.
When it came to boys and you, Minseok was never anything helpful. Instead, he did everything he possibly could to prove to you that the boy was no right for you. In most cases, he was right, but you both knew that Jongin was different. He wasn’t like most of the boys you’d liked before him.
“Because I know how Jongin feels... He may have... confided in my that he liked you and I turned him down...” he admitted, rubbing his neck.
“YOU DID WHAT?! WHEN WAS THIS!” you screamed at him.
He covered his ears, waiting for you to finish yelling.
“About a month and a half ago...”
You gaped at him, not believing what you were hearing.
“He wanted to confess to you and ask you on a date. I... I wouldn’t let him even though I knew he’d take care of you,” he continued.
You were appalled. Since when did Kim Minseok do something like this?!
“SO, what you’re saying is, JONGIN AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN DATING IF YOU HADN’T INTERFERED!” you yelled.
Fury was coursing through your veins like shocks of electricity. Minseok’s face hardened. He was getting angry.
“You are my LITTLE SISTER! Despite the fact that you think you’re old enough to be on your own, I will protect you for the rest of my life. I don’t want to see my baby sister hurt!” he snapped.
You kind of understood where he was coming from. You were protective of him too. You just weren’t that protective. Although, you knew nothing was going to be resolved by screaming at each other.
Letting your shoulders droop, you wrapped your arms around Minseok’s middle, hugging him close.
“Oppa, I really believe I’m falling in love with him. Please help me,” you begged.
With a long, drawn out sigh, he returned your hug and nodded.
“Fine, but you owe me for this one,” he said.
And that was how you got your brother involved in “Operation: Melt Nini’s Heart.
A week had passed since you had your conversation with Minseok. He stayed true to his word. After leaving you alone to sleep, you woke up the next morning to see him working with Junmyeon with the planning, all the while, planning things for Jongdae to do as punishment. And as the week ticked by, things were coming together. You would be able to execute the plan in a few more days. You could already feel the nerves.
You’d never admit it to Minseok, but he was really good at setting plans up. He even did all of the negotiating with the members, calling in several of the favors that had wracked up over the past. You had to admit, you felt touched that he cared about you to make an elaborate date to set you up with one of his best friends.
“(Y/N)! We got all of the pastries! Where do you want them?” Baekhyun asked, carrying a large, unstable looking stack of cupcakes, cookies, and Jongin’s favorite chocolate cake, all decorated as apologies and sweet little love notes you hoped Jongin would enjoy.
The door of the dorm opened and, for once, you were hoping it wasn’t Jongin.
“Hide them in the basement. He never goes down there,” you ordered.
Baekhyun let out a big whine and kicked his feet.
“Noooo! They’re are spiders and mice and bugs and... ghosts down there!” he argued.
You rolled your eyes.
“Get Chanyeol to go with you,” you said, shooing him out of the living room.
The door finally opened fully and Jongin stood by it. You were thankful you had gotten Baekhyun out of sight quickly. Jongin’s eyes met yours and you saw sadness behind him before he walked past you, heading for his room. You sighed and lowered your gaze to the floor. You hoped this plan worked. You couldn’t take this much more.

03: The Truth
Word Count: 1,763
Warning(s): This chapter is almost nothing but angst.
The Cheshire grin never left Jongdae’s face for the entire day. He stuck by your side, grabbing a hold of your hand whenever Jongin looked your way. No matter how hard you tried to pull away, his death grip made it impossible, only setting you free when Jongin’s frown had deepened and he’d turned away to dance more. Your heart hurt seeing the hurt look on your face, but you refused to believe that look meant anything other than being hurt that you’d defy your brother’s wishes, or that you didn’t tell him that you were dating one of his best friends. Still, the hurt look rattled you every time you saw it. But things only got worse when you got back to the dorm.
Everyone was quieter than usual. Baekhyun and Chanyeol weren’t creating chaos and giggling together. Junmyeon wasn’t running after any of his “children” like a mother duckling rushing to keep her kids in line. Sehun wasn’t trying to bribe anyone into giving him money for ice cream. Kyungsoo, well, he was always quiet unless he was yelling at Baekhyun or Chanyeol. Jongdae was too busy wearing a permanent smirk to allow words to break through his sealed lips. Jongin was half moping around. And Minseok was glaring at just about everyone.
It was you that finally decided to break the silence, tired of the unnatural quiet. You were far too used to eight wild men running around the dorm disturbing the peace.
“What do you guys want for dinner?” you asked.
No one turned to look at you. They just began going in their own directions.
“Make chicken,” Minseok said, his voice quiet, but more stern than you were used to.
Something was definitely going to go down. Minseok only requested chicken when he had something important to talk about as a group. Chicken was one of everyone’s favorite dishes, which created a soft cushion for whatever blow the group was going to take.
You nodded, visibly gulping and headed into the kitchen to prepare the chicken you had stored in the refrigerator, meant for another day.
“Hyung, is everything ok?” you heard someone ask.
By the sound of the voice, you knew it was Sehun that had dared speak. You felt sorry for the younger. This was undoubtedly your fault… well, yours and Jongdae’s.
“We’ll talk about it at dinner,” you heard Junmyeon answer for Minseok.
This was worse than you thought. Minseok only ever got Momma Junmyeon involved if he couldn’t handle a situation on his own.
“This isn’t going to be good,” you heard someone mutter.
You finished preparing the raw chicken before getting everything together to cook it up. You knew better by now than to make a controlled amount. No matter how much food you made, you almost never had leftovers. It was more often that someone was left still hungry and you’d have to make half another meal to sate their hungry stomachs. Tonight was going to be the night of nervous eating.
You opened the refrigerator in a spare moment to let the chicken cook and peered inside, counting the number of beer cans and bottles were slid in the drawers. The guys didn’t drink often. Only when they needed to unwind. Sighing in relief when you counted 20 beers, you shut the door and went back to the chicken. Two beers apiece should be enough to get through dinner and whatever else Minseok and Junmyeon had planned.
Outside the kitchen, all was quiet. There were either boys in their rooms or boys sulking in the living room waiting for the food to finish cooking. The door of the dorm opened, alerting your ears that the ninth member had finally arrived.
“Hyung! Your back!” you heard Baekhyun shout gleefully.
Loud stomps of running feet raced to the door where you were sure Yixing was taking off his shoes before he was engulfed in hugs from his EXO brothers.
“How’s noona?” Sehun asked him.
Out of all the members, Yixing was the only member that had a girlfriend. She was an American named Jade that he’d met when she moved to Seoul two summers ago to teach Korean children how to speak English. They had begun dating shortly after she’d moved, and you had to say, she was the closest thing you had to a sister.
“She’s great! She baked you all cookies,” Yixing’s cheerful voice beamed.
You heard shouts of joy and you felt yourself slowly feeling relieved. Yixing truly was a healing unicorn. He could fix almost every situation, sometimes without even knowing it was going on, like tonight. You felt a smile creep onto you cheeks as you focused on the chicken. It hadn’t occurred to you that you hadn’t heard one voice in particular go to greet Yixing.
“Why did you choose Jongdae?” Jongin’s voice startled you when he’d spoken.
You whirled around, staring at him with wild eyes as you allowed yourself time to process the question.
“Why did you choose Jongdae? Out of all the people in Seoul, you had to choose him!” he said.
Oh boy. This was definitely not a happy Jongin you were dealing with, not that you had expected much happiness from him today.
You let out a sigh and made plans to make Jongdae pay dearly for this.
“Jongin… I’m not…” you couldn’t find the right words.
How was one supposed to tell the guy they were crushing on that they got sucked into the guys best friends plan to fake jealousy so the guy you liked would like you back?
“Your not what?” he asked, louder this time.
You sighed again. This was going to be such a hard conversation.
“We’re not da-”
“Is the food ready yet? We’re starving!” Baekhyun ran in, disrupting the conversation.
You didn’t know whether to hug him or choke him for ruining the conversation. Jongin scoffed and walked out. You rested your head against the counter and groaned. Now he really never would like you after what Jongdae was putting you through.
“(Y/N)! Get you head up and pay attention! The food’s about to burn!” Minseok’s voice broke your thoughts.
You snapped up pulled the chicken up, putting it all on a plate.
“Someone set the table,” you said, carrying the chicken over.
Kyungsoo came to set plates out and you got the beers out, putting two at each chair except for your own.
“Boys, dinner,” Junmyeon shouted, sitting down in his seat at the head of the rectangular table. One by one, fast feet made their way into the kitchen, thanking you and sitting down at the table, some taking a bite of chicken, some starting by sipping a beer. You pulled a few pieces of chicken on your plate, but your appetite was almost gone, being replaced by fear, regret, and guilt.
Halfway through dinner, Minseok cleared his throat and slowly, everyone silenced. You gave your brother a weary look, afraid of what was going to come out of his serious lips.
“It has come to my attention that two of you have taken special interest in my sister,” he announced.
Oh no. This was not going to be good- wait… two people?
“With that said, I would like to remind everyone that dating her is strictly off limits! I trust you all, but she in my baby sister. She doesn’t need to have to deal with our schedules more than she already does,” he said.
For some reason, this made your blood boil. You were going to fall for who you were going to fall for. You couldn’t help your feelings for Jongin. It was your turn to stand, enraged.
“You have no right to control my life like this!” You half yelled at him.
You saw everyone’s face pale. You and Minseok rarely fought, but when you did, it was catastrophic.
His face grew red with anger.
“I am only protecting you!” he yelled back.
“You have no right to dictate who I fall for!” you snapped.
“How could you fall for Jongdae?!” a new voice entered the argument.
Oh fack. Now you were going to have to hash this out with both of them.
“You’re dating Jongdae?!” Minseok yelled louder.
“No I-”
“Yes she is! I saw them holding hands all day!” Jongin accused.
You felt offended, bewildered, mad, and sad all at once.
“No Jongin I-”
No one would let you finish.
“Jongdae?! You fall for Jongdae?!” Minseok yelled, half laughing.
“Rude!” Jongdae’s voice yelled somewhere in the mix.
And then chaos broke lose. Everyone was yelling at everyone. You couldn’t take it anymore. There was another reason you never liked going along with Jongdae’s plans. You couldn’t keep a secret. Even when you wee younger, you always tattled on yourself.
“JONGDAE AND I WERE FAKING TO MAKE JONGIN JEALOUS!” you screamed above all the yelling.
Everyone froze, all eyes on you. You felt about two feet tall as you shrunk under their gazes. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Jongdae slap his face into his hand at your confession.
The next second, the room was filled with gasps of disbelief, laughter, and lots of criticism.
“You sided to do a plan with him?! Are you stupid?!” Sehun cackled.
That hurt but you were more worried about what your brother and Jongin were going to say. You were far too scared to look at their faces.
“I can’t believe you would do something this dumb. I’m so disappointed in you,” Minseok said.
There it was. Minseok pulled the disappointed card on you. You hated disappointing him.
“I can’t believe I ever liked you…” you heard Jongin mumble before getting up. “I thought you were different. The cool girl that played just as hard as the boys, the girl that was strong and independent. But your not. You’re desperate and just like everyone else.”
With that, he left the table. You felt your heart snap in two. That was the worst thing you could think of to hear him say. You felt crystal pools fill your eyes, but you were already embarrassed and ashamed. Leaving your plate behind, you made a beeline for the hallway, escaping to your room.
Once you were there, you locked the door and crawled on your bed, burying your face in the pillows and crying as loud and as hard as you needed too. You were already embarrassed. May as well add to that fire now.
You didn’t know how you were going to show your face around the dorm ever again now.

“I can’t believe I ever liked you...” you heard Jongin mumble before getting up.

02: A Plan?
Word Count: 1,411
A/N: Make sure you read chapter one, No Dating My Sister, first!~
The drive to the studio was short and uneventful, except the constant bickering between Baekhyun and Sehun, arguing over who should get the last of the bag of bagels that Junmyeon had brought for the boys to eat. In the end, it was you who had the last bite of bagel, silencing the two and etching a permanent pout on Baekhyun’s face. You were definitely going to be paying for that later, but it was hard to care when your stomach was no longer growling loudly in your ear.
Once you’d arrived at the studio, everyone was sluggish to get out, at least until Junmyeon threatened to cut up his platinum card that he so graciously allowed the other members to use. That put a fire under all their butts, getting them out of the SUV with very little haste.
You were given no such promise. You bones were slow. All you wanted to do was curl up in your seat and go back to your rudely interrupted dreams. The boys had other plans for you. As soon as your eyes shut, content with just staying in your seat at least until the sun came up, you were moved and thrown over someone’s shoulder.
“Chanyeol! Put me the hell down!” you growled.
One thing that all the boys, especially your brother, knew about you was, you hated being picked up. Even when you were little and Minseok would carry you around the house. You would kick and scream in his arms until your father made him put you down.
Chanyeol didn’t listen. You pounded on his back, trying to be careful not to bruise him, the fan girls wouldn’t forgive you for hurting their Happy Virus, but you hit him hard enough to know it hurt. Still, he made no move to put you down, only hoisting you up hair to jostle you a little in an attempt to shut you up. You crossed your arms over your chest as best you could and glared at the wall as you were carried inside.
“You know she’s going to hit you when you put her down, right?” your brothers voice sounded in the narrow hallway.
Chanyeol’s body vibrated with a nervous laugh. Oh, he was really going to get it when he finally would let your feet touch the ground.
That happened sooner than you’d expected. He placed you down in the hallway and nervously rubbed the back on his neck.
“I... wanted to help so you didn’t have to walk... while you were tired.. yeah, that’s it,” he said, flustered, trying to come up with a good excuse that you would forgive him for.
But you were Minseok’s sister. Sure, you were both quiet and shy, but, while he was an angel, you were a devil. You brought your foot back and delivered a kick to Chanyeol’s shin, causing him to let out a very unmanly cry of pain. You left him in the hallway, watching Baekhyun rush out to check on him.
“Always knew those two had a thing for each other,” you mumbled and made your way down the familiar hall to the practice room where, no doubt, most others already were.
“That could be you and Nini,” a teasing voice purred beside you.
“Go away Jongdae,” your grumbled.
Of all the members, the one you were closest to, besides Minseok, was Jongdae. You didn’t know why the two of you had gotten along so well, but, you could definitely say without hesitation that he was your best friend, although, he could be a real pest at times. Today was one of those days. He knew you had a thing for Jongin. As far as you knew, he was the only one that was ever able to figure it out. But after the morning you had, fighting a blush and getting caught in the bathroom with him, the cat was at least close to being out of the bag. Then you’d never be able to have a moment of peace.
“Don’t you want to know how we’re going to get you and Jongin together?” he asked. You could practically hear the smirk in his voice.
You had to admit, you were intrigued by his words, but there was no way you were going to go for something that Jongdae hatched. Yes, he was your best friend and you trusted him with your life, but when it came to plans, they almost always ended up in someone going to the hospital. Last time he’d revealed a plan, Kyungsoo had been the one in the hospital for three days as the doctors tried to untangle his confused limbs. Jongdae, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Sehun had all whined for a month about Kyungsoo refusing to cook them any food. You couldn’t blame Kyungsoo for it though, although his punishment meant that you were stuck in the kitchen late at night preparing food for the brats. It hadn’t been a very restful month.
“Oh come on (Y/N)! You have to be at least a little intrigued,” he pressed.
You groaned. He wasn’t going to let you off until you agreed to listen to whatever dumb plan he had come up with this time.
“Fine, but I already know my answer,” you snapped.
He gave you the look of a Cheshire cat ready to pounce and you knew you were in trouble.
“Let’s get him jealous!” he declared.
You whirled around to smack him in the head. Making someone jealous never ever worked out the way it was meant to. It always ended up in hurting someones feelings or completely destroying two people emotionally. You couldn’t do that to Jongin.
“No,” you said crisply and kept walking.
Jongae gave a sound of displeasure and chased your down the hallway.
“It’s the perfect plan!” he argued.
“No.”
“But it’ll work!”
“No.”
You were sticking to your answer. You were pretty sure Jongin wasn’t into you in any way other than maybe seeing you as a sister. You didn’t want everything to turn south and then have to explain why you were going along with a plan of Jongdae’s.
“I’ll do your laundry for a month,” Jongdae cooed.
That was tempting, but you were confused as to why he was the one trying to convince you by doing laundry. You spun around to face him, causing him to almost collide with you at the sudden movement.
“What’s in it for you?” you eyed him suspiciously.
He gave you an innocent smile. You almost choked on how sweet he was trying to be.
“Just getting my two best friends together,” he purred, wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
You hummed and gave him a sterner look. You could rival Junmyeon in the battle of stern looks when you were trying.
“Fineee. If you do this plan and you and Jongin get together, Baekhyun owes me money,” he mumbled.
“YOU BET ON MY LOVE LIFE?!”You yelled angrily.
Jongdae shrunk under your harsh tone and you were sure everyone in the building had heard your voice.
“(Y/N)? Are you ok? We heard you yell?” the one voice that could shut you up real quick was of course behind you.
You spun around and gave the taller male a big smile.
“I’m fine Jonginnie! Just having a conversation with Dae,” you said as calmly as possible.
Jongin gave you a curious glance and then his eyes fell on Jongdae’s arm around your shoulders. You swore you saw his face fall.
“Oh... I-I didn’t realize that you two were together,” he said.
Was that... sadness in his voice? Your heart was breaking in two at the hurt puppy look he wore on his handsome face.
“No Jongin, we’re not-”
“Having a fight,” Jongdae cut you off, finishing the sentence you weren’t going to say.
He leaned closer and pressed a kiss on your cheek, tightening his hold on you to prevent you from getting away and telling Jongin the truth.
Dejectedly, Jongin nodded and turned around to walk back towards the practice room. You wanted to cry out to him, to confess, to do anything to convince him that you weren’t with Jongdae, but you couldn’t. When he was out of sight, Jongdae finally let you go.
“You better fix this!” you snarled and slapped his back, hard.
He winced but didn’t say anything as you stormed off to the practice room. This was going to be a very long, hard day.

Word spread throughout town quickly. You didn’t hear about it at first. It wasn’t like you were trying to avoid the gossip chain. But it was because you worked so much that you hadn’t thought of even looking at the signs on the street or talking to anyone else save for those who said hello to you on the way to work (the old man where you bought coffee, the sandwich shop, your landlord, etc.).
So, you were confused when it was finally the weekend and everyone was in their best clothes.
“I missed something, didn’t I?” you laughed softly as you watched your friends tie up their hair, pick out their outfits and excitedly look at the clock.
“I can’t believe you didn’t hear, Y/N!” said one of them with a giggle.
“Er, I really didn’t,” you chuckled shyly as you watched all of them while you made no move to do anything. You were much too tired to venture out somewhere.
“The circus is here!” said another one of your friends while they clapped excitedly.
Your brows furrowed. “So? It’s just the circus.”
“Just the circus?!” said another, their eyes wide. “I don’t think Y/N’s heard about this circus, then.”
Obviously, you were out of the loop.
“Well, then, don’t keep me in suspense,” you said, quirking an eyebrow at them.
“It’s CBX!” they answered while one of them ran towards your closet to pull out one of your best dresses. “Quick, get changed and we’ll tell you everything! C’mon, we promise it’ll be the best night!”
Chen’s the one with the smile, they said.
Baekhyun’s the one with the voice, they said.
Xiumin’s the one with the eyes, they said.
You eyed the posters as you followed your friends, still confused about what you were getting into. The posters were simple and only had the barest of words.
CBX. The date. The place.
That was it.
And it was somehow the talk of the town.
Your eyes widened as soon as you walked through the entrance. Sure, it looked like any other circus but the main circus tent was ten times larger than what you’d ever seen before.
“What could possibly…?” you muttered before one of your friends pulled you inside.
You could barely find seats for all of you and before you knew it, the lights dimmed and shushes filled the tent along with excitement and anticipation. As much as you hated to admit it, you were just as excited as well.
A single light shone. Then another. Then another.
One each for one of them.
There wasn’t just one ringmaster.
No, there were three.
CBX.
“Alright, everyone,” said one of them and you could tell already who that was. That smile.
“Let’s make some noise!” Xiumin. Those eyes.
Finally, Baekhyun put his hand to his ear and teasingly leaned forward, “Everybody say…”
And everyone clapped, cheered and shouted, “CBX!”

Brothers Best Friend

01: No Dating My Sister!
Word Count: 1,770
Strong arms wrapped around your waist, tugging you closer to a firm chest. You couldn’t fight the smile that made its way on your lips as you snuggled closer.
This was where you belonged, arms holding you, not a care in the world. This was how it should be. How I had dreamed it would be. But, of course, dreams are supposed to remain there, in a dream.
“Get up, if your coming to watch us practice today, you need to get out of bed,” a soft voice called followed by a firm knock on your door.
You let out a groan and rolled over. Your dream long gone now. You begrudgingly threw your feet over the edge of the bed, pulling yourself up.
“Are you getting up or are you going to sleep all day?” the same voice asked again threw the door.
It was getting on your nerves. You stretched your arms up over your head and twisted your hips, waking yourself up to greet the day. You walked over to your window to open the curtains. It was still completely dark outside except for the lights of the few cars and open shops. This puzzled you. It was never dark outside when you woke up.
You shrugged and walked over to your bedside table to grab the silver locket you always wore. Picking up the locket to clasp it around your neck, your eyes caught sight of the alarm clock shining in bright red letters that lightly illuminated the darkness of your room.
“KIM MINSEOK!” you yelled.
You marched out of your room with loud stomps on the floor and the sound of several unsatisfied grunts responded to your loudness. You stomped into the living room where your brother was sitting with a cup of coffee, ripping money out of Baekhyun’s hand while Jongdae and Chanyeol rolled around on the floor giggling.
With a scowl, you pawed the money out of Minseok’s hand and slapped Baekhyun on the back of the head, not hard enough to actually hurt, just hard enough to sting. He gave you the look of a hurt puppy and your heart almost melted, but then Chanyeol found it appropriate to stand up and pat your head.
“There there, it was just a little prank,” he said.
You turned to glare up at him and elbowed him hard in the side, making him let out a yelp and scuttle away from you.
“Why are you guys so loud this early in the morning?” a sleepy voice called out into the room.
You eyes widened and red flushed to your cheeks. That voice. Your one and only weakness. You rushed to plop yourself on the couch beside your older brother, taking his cup of coffee from his hands and taking a long sip, using the coffee as a front to keep everyone in the room from seeing your blush.
“Sorry Nini, we were getting (Y/N) up earlier than she needed to and she got made. Blame her, we’re innocent,” Baekhyun said in a sickeningly sweet voice.
You looked up in time to see Jongin roll his eyes at the elders childishness. You smiled, he wasn’t going to take his hyungs side. He was standing by yours. As soon as the thought crossed your mind, you let out a little squeak and a brighter blush coated your cheeks. Everyone’s attention was on you now, this only made you antsier. You gripped the large bicep of your brother and used it to hide your face behind.
With a little laugh, Baekhyun started rambling about something else, drawing the attention back to him, well, the attention of everyone except one person. The couch cushion beside you dented in under the weight of a third person. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders and gave you a smirk before leaning closer to whisper in your ear.
“I know your secret,” Jondae whispered in your ear.
With a blush, you cuddled closer to Minseok’s side, unaware of the harsh glare Jongin had directed at Jongdae.
“Are we going to practice or are you all going to stand around like you have nothing better to do?” Junmyeon’s voice rang out, startling everyone with the suddenness of his presence.
“Hyung, do we have to go this early,” Baekhyun whined, giving Junmyeon his puppy eyes.
You scoffed and reached across Minseok, grabbing one of the throw pillows you had brought with you when you’d moved in with the boys. You flung the pillow at Baekhyun’s head. He ducked just in time, causing it to crash into Kyungsoo’s face as the unsuspecting male entered the living room. Horror etched itself on everyone’s faces as Kyungsoo looked around for the culprit.
“In my defense, the pillow was aimed for Baek. If he hadn’t have ducked, it wouldn’t have hit you at all. Therefore, it isn’t my fault,” you defended yourself sheepishly.
The look of death never failed to leave Kyungsoo’s face as he stared at you as if looking into the depths of your soul.
“Errr- we really should get going. I expect everyone loaded in the car in 15 minutes. (Y/N), that includes you. Minseok said you were coming so your coming,” Junmyeon said, exiting the room.
He was serious. Everyone knew he was serious and that it would be a death wish to cross him when he made an order. He may seem like a pushover on camera and other times with the boys, but his word was law, all the boys knew better than to even attempt to negotiate.
With huffs and groans, one by one, each boy made his way in a different direction to start their day. Some wandered into the kitchen for coffee and bagels. Some into the bathroom for tooth cleansing and deodorizing, and some to their rooms to put on actual clothes.
“Do I have to go?” you whined, resting your head on Minseok’s shoulder.
He was the only one that was dressed and ready to go. He took the cup of coffee from your hands again and rested his head against yours lovingly for just a moment before lifting his shoulder and booting you off.
“Go, get dressed,” he said.
You rolled your eyes and got up from the couch.
“Some big brother you are,” you mumbled and made your way down the hallway to your room, dodging flying clothes that were being tossed from door to door by boys who couldn’t decide whether to wear their own clothes or someone else’s.
You stepped inside the room and flicked on the light, shutting the door behind you and rummaged through your closet. Today was definitely not a jean day. In-fact, you’d want nothing more than to curl up in a pair of booty shorts and read a book while the boys practiced. Minseok would kill you for that one and kill any other the others that dared sneak a peak at your milky thighs.
“Leggings it is,” you mumbled to yourself, pulling out a pair of ankle length gray leggings designed with red roses all the way down the thigh, connected to green stems that wrapped around the material in an artsy, garden design.
Sliding off your pajama pants and Minseok’s old shirt, you slid the leggings up your legs and pair your outfit with a red, off the shoulder top. The outfit was one of the most casual and comfortable outfits that you owned.
Once you were dressed, you made your way into the bathroom, hoping you wouldn’t walk in to see one of the boys using the bathroom with the door open again. You would never get the image of Sehun’s bare butt out of your mind from the time you’d walk past the door to see him relieving his bladder with the door casually opened. That was the day Minseok had sat everyone down and laid down some “ground rules” for my living their. ‘No dating my sister’ had been second to ‘close the door when your using the toilet.’ You had not been pleased. How were you meant to get Jongin to like you if he wasn’t allowed to date you without the fear that Minseok would snap him in half.
You knocked on the bathroom door and blushed when you heard a quiet “come in” from your favorite voice in the whole dorm.
“It’s me, are you decent?” you asked wearily.
You did not need the image of Kim Jongin using the toilet in any way stuck in your head. That was something you really would never be able to unsee.
“Yeah, I’m just brushing my teeth,” he answered.
That was a relief. You twisted the handle and pushed the door open. He smiled at you with his green dinosaur tooth brush in his mouth. You couldn’t hold back the giggled from how cute he looked. He gave you a playful grin and scooted over slightly. You reached into your own personal cabinet and pulled out your pink Tinker Bell tooth brush. He snorted, tooth paste running down the corner of his lips. You giggled again and brought your thumb up to lightly wipe away the toothpaste. Your eyes met his chocolate ones and you felt yourself losing yourself in them. He made no move to break eye contact with you. Instead, he brought his hand up to stroke his fingers across your face. You leaned into his touch slightly.
“Sis, hurry up, we gotta go,” Minseok announced, standing in the doorway.
Jongin let his hand drop to his side and he finished up brushing his teeth, spitting into the sink before exiting the bathroom. Minseok gave you a stern look and you shrunk under his gaze.
“Let’s go,” he ordered.
Brushing your teeth quickly, you were lead out of the bathroom and grabbed your handbag in a hurry as Minseok rushed you out the door. You were the last two to arrive. The only two seats left were between Sehun and Jongin and the passenger seat beside Junmyeon where Minseok usually sat. You moved to take your seat between the maknaes when Minseok jumped in front of you. Huffing, you climbed in the front beside Junmyeon, who spared you an apologetic glance before starting the car. You crossed your arms over your chest and stared dead ahead, missing the glaring contest between Minseok and Jongin in the back seat.
