A little boy just looked at me and went “woah! That girl is so tall!! I didn’t know girls could get that tall!” To his grandpa.

Grandpa talked to him about how he had tall women in his family and how pretty tall girls are and the boy said he should ask me out 💀 so grandpa was like “she’s probably already married”

Listening to this exchange was so cute and so gender affirming bc not once did either of them imply I was actually a man I’m gonna cry this was so sweet.

I’ve been trying to figure out how I’ve managed to power my way into the industry space I’m entering bc I’m working against a lot, but now I’m wondering if my common thread with all these people is Animorphs.

Ok you might be wondering, haha it’s funny to be an Animorph, Vic, but why the squid? To which I would reply that this Animorphs cover in particular features, I shit you not, a plot where an Alien ship has trapped the heros aboard while it tries to get them to play games.

One day you catch a glimpse through his window and he’s just scratching hundreds of scratch-off lottery tickets. He owns two jet skis.

i like working at plant store. sometimes you ring up someone and there's a slug on their plant and so you're like "Oh haha you've got a friend there let me get that for you" and you put the slug on your hand for safekeeping but then its really busy and you dont have time to take the slug outside before the next customer in line so you just have a slug chilling on your hand for 15 minutes. really makes you feel at peace with nature. also it means sometimes i get to say my favorite line which is "would you like this free slug with your purchase"

Sanctimony aside, this is why people don't like vegans.

Like, the comparison between how the U.S. treats livestock and how it treats people is obvious, but people would rather be mad that they were compared to cows than consider that maybe the way we treat cows is horrifying.

But they're inherently related. How we consider non-human animals is deeply tied into how we consider ourselves.

Once you start thinking about humans as a species in a biome, it affects your entire way of looking at normal things.

The other day I referred to female morning joggers as an 'indicator species' in that if you see women jogging in the dark it means that the environment provides migration pathways (sidewalks, clear signs) and doesn't have any known predators of female morning joggers (guy with knife, bear, BigTruck, male morning joggers).

Though, I think that people consider framing humans as animals reacting to their environment as rude.

Y'all, I haven't been able to listen to Worlds Beyond Number since I went into production for Oops, All Witches in July last year. I just can't be comparing myself to them while I do sound design, but that means I have *such* a backlog of WWWO episodes. I'm really only hurting myself by scrolling on Tumblr.
