sorry sorry sorry
hi hi it's been a long time, and I have a lot to fill you in on (trip to LA, Pitchfork Music Fest). I promise I will soon, but right now, I just want to jot down something my therapist suggested: when a man (or really anyone) is arguing with you and acting immaturely, just don't react.

August 25th and 26th, 2021
August 25th: Had a chill day at home. I watched The Daily Zeitgeist's streamed live show. Miles and Jack along with comedian Chris Crofton discussed the year 2000. I fell asleep pretty early on my sofa. I think I'm still jetlagged.
August 26th: I woke up really early. I decided to go to the gym for the first time in three weeks, and now my legs are killing me! Afterwards, I called Helen to discuss some plans for my visit to LA on the 28th. Then, I went to bass lessons, where Nick and I worked on "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" by D'Angelo. After that I hung out with Schuyler. We went to get pineapple matcha lemonades, chatted for a while, ate tacos, and then went on to find shoes. Shoes were a bust, but she found a cute Squishmallow and a scrunchy!

Yesterday's News (August 24th, 2021)
Here's my recap of what I did yesterday:
I met up with Peter, the older Irish gentleman, and his wife Shannon to give them the whiskey I picked up for them in Ireland. We sat and talked in the brewery for a few hours. They're both very sweet. They told me about their childhoods, how they met, the trips they took to Ireland together. Shannon told me that Peter's grandad was Will Corrigan, a prominent lawyer in the 1916 Uprising. I told them about Kevin and how he's planning on visiting in a few months time if COVID restrictions allow. They're eager to meet him.
Afterwards, I went to hang out with Anastasia and Jordan at his house. We watched The Naked Gun, which is Jordan's favorite comedy movie.
I'm lucky to be surrounded by people I adore.

Introductions and Explanations
Hello, world! Welcome to my newest and possibly most personal blog. My name is Darin, I just turned 24 years old, and I'm using this blog as a reflective space. Since the start of the pandemic and my graduation from college, I've noticed that my memory isn't as great as it used to be. My recall of words and things has significantly slowed. Part of this is because I'm not really doing new things each day, and the pandemic has made it hard to interact with a lot of people. I want to embrace aging, but I want to keep my mind intact while doing so.
So, what good is a blog? Well, this blog is inspired by my boyfriend's grandad, Charlie (RIP), who had excellent recall and wit. After Charlie passed, my boyfriend's family found his old diaries. They suspect one of the reasons his memory was in such good condition was because he would write down what he did every single day. Nothing special, just passages along the lines of, "so and so visited today. We had lunch." I want to recreate that, and I figured a blog would be an excellent way to organize my "diary entries" as it were.
I'm not sure why or how you, dear stranger, have come across this blog, but thanks for reading! Hope you can find some entertainment in my very boring life.
-D
