I've recently discovered that "mould" is in fact the correct british english spelling of mold and just want say that I hate that. Like i totally love the british 'u' in colour and flavour and other spellings but mold just feels right. to be clear this is not a complaint about your use of it, but rather a complaint with the larger english language. I wanna express the overall superiority of the spelling of mold without a 'u' in order to spark a debate that will ideally change the english language on a wide enough scale that everyone eventually agrees with the objectively better spelling.

I agree with you! It’s the damn autocorrect that won’t leave me be! I don’t like the look of mould it feels wrong! But in Canada we use British English and so my keyboard is set to that so if I want colour and flavour I gotta deal with mould

But before I get too distracted, the real reason I'm here is to ask about Leshy. Does this deity exist in this universe? I know sylphs are known and maybe dryads, but MC being called dumb and distracted among other things comes off as very child of Leshy coded, and I wonder if there were ever whispers about it or gossip about whether or not they were an actual child sired by the Crowns. It's probably just safe to assume everything under the moon has been said about them.

Crowny has never been called dumb (only by lorcan and he calls them everything under the sun) just distracted. Distracted was by their teachers and they have the ability to be a better student they just simply chose not to care. Being a bad student doesn’t mean anything in terms of intelligence. I know this guy who’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever met, knows how to debate anyone about nearly everything and he regularly gets Ds. I think equating academia with intellgience can be sort of classist because not everyone gets the chance to go to school but that doesn’t mean they’re stupid

Since I didn’t know about leshy before this ask they don’t exist within the universe. And no, um, given the madness that crowny has and that has been a feature of the crowns since time immemorial people always thought they fit right in with their crazy ancestors

As a female writer I also have a knee jerk reaction to think that any writer I don’t yet know the pronouns of are female or afab

I don't agree with the other anon but sadly the last part of Crowny being more miserable as the plot goes feels like it's just for the sake of the story. Like Peter Parker, his story gets down bad and keeps going deep down because he can't have a just slightly better life

Also I’ve said that there’s an importance in the fact that the season is cut up. That’s the reason the self worth stat was created as well because they now demand a better life. There is a catharsis and catalyst in crowny’s life with James’ death

But I felt I had to do it this way to make crowny reach a breaking point in realizing how they’re treated isn’t ok and that no one has the right to harm them and they don’t need to lay down and take it

What are grocery prices like in Croun? I was wondering if they had higher prices because location or transportation cost (like Alaska) or it’s just kind of regular prices for the time period because they are close enough to somewhere else?

I guess it wouldn’t be expensive as Alaska because people go to Alaska to work too. There isn’t much migration to croun and they are near a city

Does Imre feel indifferent about violence and death? How strong is his stomach? He didn't care about James getting murdered (neither did I tbh) as it could be justified, but what about unjustified violence impacted on other people, such as Sammy and that one other kid who was found dead in the drain?

it's really weird people are getting upset because there are literally 0 visuals about Crowny so if people want them to be hot they can just picture them as hot?? and then just explain that maybe the npcs don't think that they aren't attractive because they simply don't like Crowny or find their behavior too off-putting or creepy or Crowny just doesn't care to make the effort or something?

I actually think that maybe a part of why it's so hard for people to accept is because Crowny can have 3 attractive people interested in them? Since, let's be real here, irl people are ridiculously preoccupied with appearances and high schoolers especially tend to be really fucking shallow, so they are having a hard time with the idea that people who are attractive and popular (2 out of 3 at least) would be attracted to someone like Crowny if they weren't a total 10/10 too hot to trot bodacious babe because they certainly don't have much else going for them in that sense (no popularity, no influence, no money (anymore), no mental health..) 🤔

You’re very right but in this case it was in specifics contexts. Nia for instance grew up with crowny, she got to see a side of them no one does and find that she liked it. Lorcan is in the same social pariah class as crowny and he falls in love with anything but looks. Imre initially needed them and then saw that unlike everyone he’s ever met, he finally found someone who gets him. A person he doesn’t have to completely perform for and it’s exciting

Although I think popularity, influence and money are shallow things. They can only keep interest for so long and it’s always surface level

I think people really want me to change my mind and I’m not going to. I’ve never hidden what Crowny looks like because ultimately they got 3 attractive hotties after them. Goes to show that they have something that is alluring.

I think it’s also a bigger issue within the if community that MCs have to be hot or else it’s not worth it. Which makes me sad because what does that say about real people? Are the only stories that should be told are about people who are hot? I don’t think so
