if we finish the art before the due date can they be posted in the meantime? it kinda knocks the wind out of my sails if we wait months to reveal

yes!! Your art is yours. After a point we will cut you off from making edits/updates to be featured in the game, but you should feel free to post whenever you are finished.

related: we've had some people already finish art and ask if it can be included and/or mods couldn't help but ask if it could be included. This is absolutely fine. Seeing as right now we don't have a set list of characters to draw from, it's pretty wide open. We will be narrowing down the list, matchmaking artists with prompts (and partners if desired), etc over the next week.

If your first choice character has a submission before you get your assignment, or if you submit something after someone else was already assigned that character, I think the fairest thing to do is first-come-first-served (although I'm open to feedback on this, so it may change), aka the one that will be included in the game will be the one that occurred first. We will make it clear when unsolicited art submissions will no longer be considered for part of the game (probably around the 25th when assignments are finalized/sent to artists).

I hope this helps! Again, your patience is appreciated. I have never done anything like this and also it's a massive project so a great pick for a beginner. Heh.

hi!! i have a question - for artists, is there any way to choose to draw a specific idea, other than sending an ask with a suggestion and saying we wanna draw it? (i.e. a google sheet with the final list of suggestions and people would write their name next to the idea they wanna draw?)

also, is ‘nitty gritty’ the best tag to check for Q&A’s, or is there another tag?

At the moment, no, we do not have another system, but if you know what you want to draw, please say so. We will do our best to honor those requests. At the moment we have WAY more character ideas than artists, so the odds are good that you will get your first choice if you have one.

So far nitty gritty is the only tag, sorry! We will be better organized...um...in a few days.

CREATIVE PARTNERS & PINCH HITTERS

PINCH HITTERS: in addition to artists we need a handful people to be willing to pinch hit if original artists have to drop out. To keep any one person from being too overloaded, you MAY be a first-round assigned artist and also a pinch hitter, but you may not pinch hit more than once. You can also pinch hit without being a first-round assigned artist. Pinch hitter volunteers will be accepted anytime.

CREATIVE PARTNERS: because character development is a sprawling task and not all of us can draw, if you would like to be a "creative partner" you can! you will be assigned to an artist and will brainstorm as a team for the assigned character, and then you will all be listed on the final credits for your character (like in a real game!). you can request objects to be assigned to, which we will honor as best we can. you can request to be your artist's only creative partner or in a triad, which, again, we will honor as best we can. TO BE A PARTNER SEND "PARTNER"

NOTE FOR ARTISTS ON CREATIVE PARTNERS: you will be asked if you are open to zero, one or two creative partners. Please choose the maximum number you are open to. Again, we will honor requests like this as best we can.

groups are limited to 3 people just to keep it manageable.

uhh friend I don't think you did register the intro post! You don't have to commit to drawing anything by submitting! Characters will be assigned separately.
