maybe this means nothing, but thinking about how character foils, enemies, lovers, duos of any sort are so often cast in association with opposing colors. different colors. and how in contrast, vriska and terezi are two colors so similar you could call them by the same name. if you melted and merged her cerulean and her teal, you’d end up with a color hardly dissimilar to either shade from which it came. their opposing nature is inextricable from their similarity, the reason for their divide being their innate connection. they are not the same. they could be so easily joined, but just as easily can they take the overwhelming similarity as invitation to catastrophize every small difference into calamity
