“ why did you help me? ” (Helia.)
Helia's ear twitched as she turned towards Billiey. She twirled her staff, the searing blades of light vanishing, before she slid it into the sheath on her back, normally hidden between her wings. Giving a smile, she decided to answer the goatt with a simple response.
" It was the right thing to do. Isn't that enough? "

Spectre watched the black cat leap from the tree, and land gracefully on his paws. That seemed to be a common thing among many cats, he observed. Of course, all he had to go off of were Koven and his own sister. He attempted to sense any trace of Auroran magic, though he quickly concluded that pieces of his home hadn't crossed into this reality after failing to sense any.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Koven. My name is Spectre, the Auroran Nebula."
Chellow Hill. Just by looking at it, it seemed like a decent place, more or less at least. The stars on his fur glimmered as he actually got a decent look around, gaze scanning his surroundings.
"It doesn't seem too bad at least."
Spectre's ear twitched, gaze turning upward to the branches of the tree, where he say the similarly dark-colored feline. His lilac eyes met Koven's golden orbs. Even without doing anything, he could sense the light bit of magic that he possessed.
"With my home broken and scattered, I have merely been going from world to world." the wolf explained, taking on his guise of regality. "In my long life, I have grown curious how mortals lived. Before that, I had only seen how they lived once before, and my companion's life was... fleeting..." A light, longing tone crept its way as his voice slowly trailed off into silence.

Though he didn't seem to understand Goatwin, he at the very least understood his tone. Slightly lowering his guard, he slowly approached the caprine, sniffing the air around him. He didn't have the scent of a Pokémon, but there was utterly no mistaking him for a human.
Turning around, he went to retrieve his basket back where he dropped it, before approaching again. Many of the fruits, veggies, and herbs it held were completely unfamiliar to Goatwin. Piecing together what little he knew of human language from poking around their ruins, he did his best to string together his situation in as few words as possible.
"Foraging. Got lost." He then pointed at himself. "Feris."
He didn't find a heretic or anything of the sort. Instead, he found a human wearing a series of rags, almost wandering aimlessly through the darkened forest. Picking up the goatt through his senses, he quickly dropped the makeshift basket of herbs onto the ground and assumed a defensive stance. Though he wasn't much of a threat, considering all he had were his own two hands, and he didn't seem to have that much physical strength in general. Despite the clear hostility, it was more out of fear than malice.
Feris shouted something into the darkness, though it wasn't quite in any language Goatwin had heard. It sounded more like an animalistic bark than anything in human language.

[🐾] The feline looked down at the canine from the tree he was perched in. His slender tail swayed lazily off the side, and curious golden eyes trailed after the other creature.
"You seem to be a long way from home." Koven sat up. "Not every day one finds a being like yourself on mortal grounds."

( @daybreak-rps ; Feris )
He had walked for miles, gathering medicinal herbs as well as various fruits and vegetables. The forest around him got darker and darker, the sky burning yellow and orange with twilight. Fallen leaves crunched underneath his feet as he continued. Though it wasn't until the sky had mostly turned a dim blue, the sun turned red on the horizon, did Feris come to an important revelation.
He was completely lost.
[⛧] Feris was in luck as a certain caprine was making his nightly rounds through the forest, looking for any stray heretic that loomed in the dark, wishing to attack those who were lost or foolish enough to be out in the night. Goatwin's ears perked as he heard the crunching of leaves that didn't belong to his own footfalls. Someone else was out in the woods. Sword in hand, he went to see who or what lurked in the shadows.

Crowpaw looked down at the shrew that her friend had gotten for her. Her ears twitched in curiosity as she leaned down towards the rodent. Giving a brief glance back to Snowpaw, she focused back on her gift and began eating. Her body was still slowly getting used to a normal diet, so she had to take it slow, taking the food one bite at a time just to be safe.
"Again, thanks... and sorry for..." Her mouth was moving faster than she could think of the words as she normally did, and she paused a few moments. "... for making you worry about me..." She paused again, mumbling out a quiet "all the time..."
She knew that Snowpaw was trying to cheer her up, but it didn't stop her doubts, her fears, all of it spiraling further and further. The lighter-colored feline had at least stopped her descent into that abyss, if nothing else. She just couldn't help but feel scared, feeling like she wasn't right for this role either.
... Maybe there'd be nowhere for her to go?...
"Thanks... I appreciate that, Snowpaw..." Crowpaw mewed. She didn't want to make her feel even worse by making her think her encouragement hadn't worked.

Crowpaw yelped as she fell to the ground, looking up at the much more energetic cat. She was still as timid as ever, the wounds of her past still fresh in her mind. However, she was slowly learning that she could let her guard down around Snowpaw.
"Well I... I got a few answers to things I needed... that I needed to know..."
Crowpaw slowly pushed herself to her paws, legs shaking with the strain. ... She'd been eating better than she used to, but she still felt so very weak.
"I'll be honest, I just wanted... just needed a role that didn't involve..." Crowpaw lowered her gaze, turning it towards the ground. "... didn't involve death... But I didn't think I'd be talking to cats that are long dead when I started training..."

[🐾] "Crowpaw!" Snowpaw let out a thrilled mew as she playfully tackled the dark-furred molley. She nuzzled her friend, yellow eyes bright. "How was your trip to the Mooncave?"

Zodi couldn't bring himself to finish Goatwin's sentence, as much as he desired to. In his long years wandering aimlessly, he never thought he'd come to care for someone as deeply as he had the goatt. Yet here he was now, faced with that very reality and unable to properly handle it.
"I understand... I..." The lizarhd took a deep breath, in, and back out. It did little to calm his very much strained nerves, but at least it was something... "Listen, if you don't feel the same, that's perfectly fine. Just... forget I said anything if that's the case."
Zodi blinked before looking away. With his snow white scales, the blush that appeared across most of his face. It seems that even with him being so composed normally, that composure tends to crumble when he's faced with confronting his most guarded feelings.
"... Look, you heard what I said Goatwin, so I'm not going to repeat myself."

saw your reply on that one ask post and while i still can't find the account in question to block, thank you for the extra clues on what to look out for!
alright im gonna be real its the blog char/lotte-l/iddel. i commonly do not name drop blogs and was 100 percent prepared to leave this shit behind but....i guess she just keeps wanting to drag everyone back in because every day, its something else. therefore i think its important people know exactly who tf she is so they dont have to walk on eggshells wondering if theres someone in their community that literally holds wrong and bigoted opinions against them for....simply existing? nah. no one should have to deal with that.
theyve deleted many of their anti-polyam posts to cover their tracks and avoid criticism. but their issues with polyam apparently include: wars have been started as a direct result of polyam relationships apparently (???? girl what. what wars), confusing polyam with forced religious polygamy (and seems to also conveniently forget that people still to this day are forced into monogamous relationships somehow), that only people who are childish, deluded or narcissistic are in polyam relationships, used right-wing talking heads like jor/dan p/eterson, m/att wa/lsh and j/oe ro/gan as 'sources' (as a trans person, even if you do not agree with everything these people say, if you uncritically consume them, i just dont feel safe around you. period.). and yet despite having these opinions she still thought it was okay to be in mutuals with openly polyamorous characters and muns, and follow the blogs of people who had it explicit in their rules that they dont tolerate ANY forms of bigotry or hatred. like, you gotta follow HER rules and respect HER boundaries but apparently everyone else's space and boundaries? free reign for her. she can reap the benefit of consuming our art and writing and being in our spaces while also having such vile opinions, apparently. now shes claiming its just an opinion of her muse, but we all know its just a smoke screen. we arent stupid, we can tell when someone is soapboxing using their character as a shield against criticism. and frankly, its repulsive. in this situation, you can either own up to your mistake, or double down on your bigoted stance and make it abundantly clear that you do not welcome certain groups of people into your space. thats fair. but shes being wishwashy, like many bigots nowadays are. they cannot own up to their biogtry and need a level of plausible deniability to avoid criticism, which...ultimately just means all of us have to walk on egg shells to 'tolerate' their shitty opinions because they 'claim' they arent *actually* hateful, they are just *concerned* or *uncomfortable*. like --
i could go on. but really i think you get it. im really sorry that you, and all of us, who are in this community to find respite from this kind of hate and intolerance, and enjoy eachother's differences, have to deal with this. i am friends with people from all walks of life, many world views, *i always give everyone the benefit of the doubt* but when i witness such blatant misinformation, pettiness and hatred being harbored within the community, i cant keep quiet about it or tolerate it.

rpc i think we need to have a little talk about misconceptions surrounding polyamory after the shit show last night
not all polyamorous relationships are open relationships. polyamorous is not a fancy word for 'free for all'. poly people can and do have closed relationships.
polyamory is not synonymous with religious polygamy. no one is mandating you into a polygamy unless youre in some kind of cult sect or a religious group that actively practices such things. consentual relationships between adults is a lot different from mandated polygamy brought on by religious or political authoritarianism. monogamy and polygamy both have been utilized to oppress and control people throughout history. arranged monogamous relationships anyone?
polyamory is not a fancy word for 'lack of commitment'. if anything, it takes more commitment to support a romantic relationship with multiple people
polyamory is not inherently more abusive than monogamy. this is just straight up just not true from a statistics standpoint, polyamorous relationships are not any more abusive than monogamous relationships. and since there are just more monogamous relationships out there, the chances for abuse to occur in monogamous relationships is just simply higher. as the stigma against polyamory fades, more people are going to attempt it. just like how when theres more dogs, more people get bit by dogs -- doesnt suddenly make dogs evil (tho some people would argue that for some breeds). your relationship status or mode does not indicate how good or bad of a person you are.
polyamory is not cheating. as with any relationship, in order for it to be healthy, there must be boundaries and respect for your partner/s. people in both monogamous and polyamorous relationships cheat. cheating has nothing to do with your sexuality or your relationship preferences. no sexuality or relationship state inherently makes a person more likely to cheat. its like implying bisexual people are more likely to cheat because of their sexuality.
humans are not 'wired' for monogamy. this is bioessentialism. no one is arguing that monogamous relationships arent common among humans, but saying we are 'wired' to be monogamous implies that polyamory is somehow an unnatural state. which stinks of the same sort of bigotry of 'homosexuality isnt natural/humans are wired for heterosexuality'.
'i have nothing against polyamory, but i dont want it forced on me' is a dogwhistle for 'i dont want polyamorous people to exist in my general direction' and if you said that about any other group of people, it would obviously be a bigoted stance. 'i have nothing against gay people, but i dont want their gayness forced on me'. you see how fucked up that sounds? no one is holding a gun to your head saying you have to be in a polyamorous relationship.
the internet has made people forget how to mind their own business. it has also made people forget that just because something makes you personally uncomfortable doesnt mean you have to create some sort of moral justification for your hatred and fear. its a common tactic among troll and extremist political groups to prey upon people's discomfort and fear and turn it into hatred (kink at pride discourse anyone?). outrage culture is very real and 'alternative' or non-mainstream lifestyles and people have always been a target for this. it is nothing new, it is just the same old bigotry given a new fresh coat of paint. learn to sit with your discomfort, because its ultimately a you problem, not an everyone else's problem. people are not obligated to change or make themselves smaller to uphold your comfort. a boundary is not an ultimatum you place upon other people, its something you place upon yourself. people existing and living their lives is not forcing anything upon you.

Lambert tried to come up with a counter, something to argue against being forced to lie down and rest. When their mind drew a blank, they just buried their face in their palms and let out a heavy sigh. Truth be told, they were so very tired...
But they had to be the strong one. They had to be a strong leader...! They needed to be there to take care of their cult, to lead them down their path. They were the incarnation of Death now, having usurped Narinder and taken the title. As such, they felt it was solely their burden to bear now.
Most of all, they were afraid of being seen as weak. Especially by their boyfriend, Hopien. But for all of their efforts to keep themself together, to put on a strong front, it was all finally crashing down.
"Leading... Leading my cult is my responsibility..." They looked at Hopien, slightly swaying from side to side, their stance uneven. They really were at the breaking point... "I don't want to burden anyone else with that job... Least of all you..."
“You don’t always have to be the hero. sometimes it’s okay for other people to save you, too.” (Lambert.)
"If I'm not the hero, then who am I supposed to be," Lambert snapped at the goatt, weary from crusading. Their normally strong body looked ready to give out. They were wearing themself ragged and thin, and they didn't even want to think about it.
"I'm the only one that can guide my flock, protect them, and help them live long happy lives. If I don't, then what'll happen to them??"
Seems even long after Narinder had been dethroned and reduced to a mortal, Lambert still had some bad habits instilled into him. However, at this point it was becoming obvious that everyone in the cult, even Narii himself, was concerned for Lambert. The only one not concerned about the caprine's health was the sheep themself.
After a moment, they realized what they just did, and who they snapped at, and rested their face in their palms.
"Dammit... I didn't mean to snap at you, I'm sorry..."

"Hopien huh...? An interesting name to be sure."
The rabbit looked around at the state his temple lay in. It was fascinating how, despite the fact the Shadelands were normally completely barren wastes, flora and fauna like the vines dangling from the ceiling were able to survive.
The plants that were brought with Tenebrae and her temple on the landmass were probably some of the only remnants of her old home. She could still hardly believe that anything could explode so violently it'd tear a hole in reality, while still leaving a decent chunk of land to actually go through said tear.
"Apologies for the whole 'giant chunk of continent flattening part of the Old Credence' thing. I did not expect to be asleep for as long as I was, or for my world to blow up while I was asleep."
That description already told the rabbit all that they needed to know. If it was long enough for the planet to have fallen apart, he must have been asleep longer than he thought... The rabbit looked out towards the entrance Haru had come in from, before lowering her gaze back towards the goatt, her steely expression softening ever so slightly.
So it's all gone... Aurora... His home... The place that was meant to be a perfect story... It was over... It's all been destroyed...
Figuring he had more pressing matters, such as the visitor to his temple, he shook his head to temporarily repress the thoughts. She could grieve the loss of her home another time. Right now, she had to keep going. It was her entire philosophy after all: to never give up. She stepped down from the pedestal that she'd been sleeping on for all that time, and gave a courteous bow. "I feel I should introduce myself, seeing as my plaque has become unreadable."
"I am the great spirit Tenebrae, guardian of the element of Shadow in a world that has ceased to exist during my slumber." He rose from his bow, his faintly glowing eyes locking onto Haru's own.
"And what might your name be?"

scperbark:
Bolt shivered slightly, unprepared for the cooler air in here.
He nodded, listening intently to what Barkley told him. “Alright, that sounds fine. Whatever it takes to get home.”
As he walked, Bolt began to wonder if Penny was really here. If she wasn’t, he’d have to find her back in his world, but that wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen.
At least, to his knowledge, she was ok.
“ I understand how that feels. I’d do anything to be back with my person again... but you can’t change the past. You can’t change what’s already happened... No matter how much you want it... Riley’s a really great person but... You know. I just really miss them sometimes... ”
Barkley approached the barred door to Platform A, briefly turning to the metal crab. All things considered, it was probably the least weird beast that Bolt had seen in this world so far. At the very least, it seemed rather friendly, moreso than what wandered outside, and actually had human-like intelligence.
“ We’d like to go to Harbourtown Station, Magikrab. ”
“ Of course. Right this way, and please watch your heads, Barkley, Bolt. ”
The bars blocking off the entrance slid up, revealing a small platform, a train already waiting for the two of them. It was clear that this Magikrab character knew quite a lot, including other canine’s name apparently.
“ ... I wouldn’t worry too much about Magikrab. It has a connection to the Mer-Line, normally knows a lot about new arrivals. ”
Starter for @scperbark
There was a light nudging at Bolt's side, a thick bundle of fur pushing up against the swiss shepherd mix. When he came to, he would find a Pomeranian bumping against him with his nose, trying to get him to wake up. The area around him wasn't familiar at all, being a cherry meadow, just in front of an abbey that appeared to have a heavy emphasis on stained glass.
" Hey! " Barkley gave Bolt another push. " Are you okay? ... C'mon wake up! "
