Unless it's something like abusing a real person, (no, problematic art or writing doesn't count, because there are fifty different definitions of problematic and some of them include Firesand so I don't really trust the fandom to not suicide bait a minor), we shouldn't be publicly shaming people. As a fandom we are far too toxic and discourse happy to be able to do that with any confidence.

putting this here beforehand just in case:

anon, i understand the vague idea of what you are trying to say but this mindset is incredibly harmful. children (and the book series *is* aimed at children so they make up a large portion of the fandom) should not be exposed to things like nsfw art/fan content.

if someone is out there making weird nsfw/incest/harmful content, you shouldn't just ignore it. it isn't toxic to call out people like that, it's a responsible thing to do. the idea that all content is ok unless it's hurting someone irl is insane.

"problematic" art and writing *can* be used as a tool to harm people too. groomers frequently use things like that to coax their victims into thinking that sort of thing is normal. this fandom is full of zoophiles and groomers, we don't need to make this easier for them by just... letting these things slide.

like i said, i understand what you are trying to say about toxic behaviour in the fandom, but calling out creeps and weirdos is, in fact, not toxic.

dream stans still baffle me it’s just. at what point does it get too much for you? at what point is the line crossed? i know there’s nothing i can say that hasn’t been said before but.

the allegations just keep coming out. the things he did on stream to tommy, to tubbo, to tubbos 14 year old sister. he took advantage of people who were supposed to be his friends, more and more victims keep coming out about what he did. there’s solid fucking evidence, and a lot of it.

all his friends are leaving him. do you think it’s just some big elaborate prank? that everyone collectively is just making this up?

at what point is it too much for you to defend him? cause if you haven’t reached that point by now, i don’t even know what to say.

It was not that she was 17 and Dream was 20. The age gap was not the issue.

It was that Dream had a position of power over her and abused it. 

He knew he had this position from the very start, as she was a fan of his and their first messages with each other was her telling him how much his content had helped her through depression.

This means that he knew full well that her wellbeing was somewhat dependant on his content. She says that his videos gave her one more reason to stay alive.

He confirmed that the Instagram messages are real.

Thusly, the Snapchat messages that haven’t been deleted are, without a doubt, real, because he tells her the name of his private Snapchat in the Instagram messages. They cannot be ignored.

It is incredibly inappropriate for Dream to message her on Snapchat knowing that she was 17 and a fan at the time and that messages can easily be erased. That on its own would be uncomfortable, but he was talking to her in a flirtatious manner.

This is not normal, friendly behavior. Especially with a fan who is underage and has said that she is emotionally invested in his content.

This is predatory. Several girls have come forward. This proves that Dream not only has more than once, but likely will again, use his platform and power to engage in sexual relationships with underage girls.

He cannot have a platform anymore.

I'm not big on mcyt anymore and Ive made an effort to not mention it on any of my accounts after what happened with the allegations because I had a massive breakdown over it and I needed to take a step back. After it settled I just didn't want to be burned by this interest again but I still follow all my mcyt mutual and like their stuff from time to time.

That's all to say, it's so great to finally close the chapter on that hurt. I've felt like I couldn't revisit my dream interest the way I do with all my past interests and like I was always on a tightrope when it came to finding new communities because people all over the internet hate dream and would not accept me for being as little connected to this community as I still am. Just gonna put out there that my dislike of Dream was always about how much I hated his conduct online and wasn't about (although certainly wasn't helped by) his allegations. The Stan video where he likened his haters to techno fans, his dislike for even attempting to learn another language, his chronic onliness where he felt it appropriate to call out a child for disliking his $100 plushies. Getting upset about tommy calling him out over the whole USMP bullshit. The USMP bullshit. It's all good, I don't mind clearing this up and I appreciate you being polite about it /gen. Tbh I haven't watched the video and I don't really plan to because regardless of whether or not the allegations themselves are true, he still makes me very uncomfortable. He still made sexual jokes towards and about minors on camera and to this day doesn't see anything wrong with that, and he still handled the allegations in the worst way imaginable and fostered a fanbase that is actively hostile to victims of any kind. And from what I've heard, the video itself was not much better in regards to treating the subjects of SA and grooming with any respect anyway.

As far as cc!dream stans go, I still want them as far away from me as possible lmaooo that has not changed in the slightest. Nothing is going to make me comfortable with ppl who have been blaming and attacking and saying disgusting things about victims from the very beginning of this. Even if every single allegation made against cc!dream was fake it makes none of that even remotely justified.

So yeah, overall his innocence or lack of innocence really doesn't make that much of a difference to me, it's like either the bar is in the center of the earth or it's still somewhere miles below the surface lmao
