Website Update – May 2019
🔝 New Top 50 Lists
One of the most popular areas of the website is the Top 50 Lists. I am pleased to announce a few additions. You can now view US and Global versions of each list, and there is a new list of Top 50 Museums and Galleries! It’s a great place to find inspiration for your own lists and see what is popular in the community.
↕️ Reordering Your Done List
By popular request, you can now reorder your Done list independently of the ordering of goals on other lists. Visit your Done list page and hit the Reorder List button. Plus members can also group items in their Done list.
📦 Archived Lists
Another of our most requested features - you can now archive a list. This will help make maintaining your lists easier. An archived list will not show up on your main profile page or list selector menus. But you can still add and update items on your archived lists. Available to all members, but Plus users have unlimited archived lists. Head over to your Manage page to get started.

Website Update − January 2017
This month sees the roll out of a bunch of exciting new updates including a redesigned profile page, updates to notes, and a new badges feature.
New layout on user profile page: A sidebar shows your details and the main content shows alongside it.
New users have a Getting Started section that helps them get onboard.
You can now add links to other social media sites such as Instagram, Snapchat etc.
New badges section. There are just a few to start with but more will be added soon. Check your profile - you may already have earned some!
When you enter goals and see suggestions you like, you can use the up and down arrow keys to select and add them.
It is now easier to see an archive of your notes. More notes features are coming soon.
A new link in the top navigation bar of the page also lets you see all the goals you have liked in a new page.
The list management screen has been rewritten and now handles dates and changes better.
Better support for users with larger screens.
You can use emoji characters in your goals, list names, and bio.
You can now add a note that is not linked to goal. Great for when you want to give a general progress update.
Mobile Apps Update: Some good progress has been made on the mobile apps in the last few months. It has been difficult balancing all the priorities but there is some good momentum now to get these released. Much of the reason it has taken so long is that the technology is changing at such a fast pace and it is difficult to make the right decisions on how best to proceed. The first release will likely be for iOS but if the feedback is promising, then Android will follow close behind. It will initially have basic functionality to manage your own lists, and over time more social features will be added in. I look forward to updating you on progress as the launch date gets closer!
Thanks for all your feedback and encouragement. A big thanks to all the Plus members who make it possible to keep growing and improving the site. As always, you can help out by taking a couple of minutes to add your thoughts on the feedback page. Hint: It is one of the easiest ways to earn badge ;)
Best wishes! Michael

Website Update: Private lists!
A new feature has been added for Plus members that now allows individual lists to be made private. This is a great way to keep track of personal goals that you don’t want to share with the whole world.
Choose 'Manage Lists' from the top right menu to set your list privacy.
Note: All users still have the ability to set their whole account to private or public.

The thing about goals
A lot of goal setting advice is timeless. This piece from Seth Godin from a few years back is a concise and clear articulation of why goals matter:
Having goals is a pain in the neck.
If you don't have a goal (a corporate goal, a market share goal, a personal career goal, an athletic goal...) then you can just do your best. You can take what comes. You can reprioritize on a regular basis. If you don't have a goal, you never have to worry about missing it. If you don't have a goal you don't need nearly as many excuses, either.
Not having a goal lets you make a ruckus, or have more fun, or spend time doing what matters right now, which is, after all, the moment in which you are living.
The thing about goals is that living without them is a lot more fun, in the short run.
It seems to me, though, that the people who get things done, who lead, who grow and who make an impact... those people have goals.

But wait, there’s more...
Last week I introduced new Profile and List pages, and today sees the launch of another new development.
The Activity and Latest pages have now been combined to form the new homepage for logged in users.
A lot of people have requested more ways to see what progress other users of the site are making. This new page has all the latest updates from people who are working on the same goals as you. It’s a great way to get motivated by seeing the progress of others in the community.
You can also switch views to see updates just from people you follow, or just your own progress updates.
The main menu at the top of the page has also been given a minor redesign and the header of the page has been updated to add in the latest new feature list. This week it is the Ultimate Reading List.
In addition a new sidebar had been created that will hightlight some select events, festivals and activities that are happening around in the next week. Another new source of inspiration for your own list ideas.
Let me know what you think over on the Feedback page!

Website Update: New Profile Pages
Today I am very pleased to release the new redesign of the profile and list pages on Day Zero Project. You are now able to do see and do a lot more directly from the main list page.

So what’s new?
Your Profile home page now shows a summary of each of your lists and the most recent updates you have made.
Notes and comments can now be seen within the list by clicking on the note count icon.

The list now takes up the full width of the page giving more prominence to your goals.
New status indicator shows you your progress on achiving your goals.
When PLUS+ members visit another member’s list they will see the list of goals they have in common at the top of the profile page.
New layout works even better on mobile devices.
Sublists created by PLUS+ members can now also be seen from with the main list view by clicking the item count icon.

To update the status, move a goal to another list, remove a goal or mark it private, you can just click on the goal to popup the goal panel.
Thanks to all those who gave feedback and suggestions on this new design! If you notice any problems or have any further suggestions I would love to hear about them. dayzeroproject.com/feedback

New Privacy Option
Your privacy is important to us. Although goal setting is more fun when it is social, we respect the desire for some people to keep their goals and progress private.
Due to popular demand, a new privacy option has been added that will limit public access to your lists to only logged in members of the website. This has primarily been designed to prevent the goals on your lists from showing up in search engine results, such as Google.
You can head on over to the Settings page to enable this. If you would like further protection you can still make your whole profile private. Also remember, you can make individual goals on your lists private.
Do you have any feedback on this, or any other aspect of Day Zero Project?. Help us out by submitting your feedback at http://dayzeroproject.com/feedback/.

Day 27 of the 28 Days challenge — The 40 Most Difficult Goals to Complete on Day Zero Project
While I was building the new Top 101 Things page, i happened to notice that some goals had a very high completion rate, such as See a movie in 3D, while others had been completed by less than 1% of the people who added it to their lists - such as Visit all 7 continents. This gave me an idea to research which goals the Day Zero community have found the most difficult to cross off their lists.
