Explaining Gavin, Ronan, Nolan, and Aidan in Wild Kratts! Because the Kratt Brothers don’t really appear to have that father-son type of relationship with the kids.
So!!!
rambles with @jokerislandgirl32
idk!! Supposedly the brothers have twin sisters in real life, but they’re not very public figures. However, that’s how I’m going to explain the self inserts of the irl Kratt bros kids.
Basically Chris and Martin are the uncles to BOTH sets of kiddos. Not the fathers. Because they’re going to be their twin sister’s kids, who are off screen and are otherwise not mentioned because they’re just, never really brought up ever (I straight up didn’t know they existed until I researched the brothers).
But it helps explain why the Kratt Crew can casually kidnap these kids and also explains why in the praying mantis episode why they just. Casually enter the kids home without the parent’s permission. That’s my little theory and headcanon at the very least!
#fun fact bc of the mantis ep I as a kid I thought they’d break into my house randomly#kid logic is so wacky#anyway yeah I’m just gonna believe that in the show they’re uncles#I have wanted to draw ideas of what it’d be like if the sisters were a part of the show#but since idk their personalities/what they even look like I didn’t know what to do for it#wild kratts

thank you :3 and you’re right!!! In a sense I do really like that we don’t have a lot of “official” lore, because it means we can make our own interpretations!! Always fun to see what people come up with, and also share with others what you think 💥 I am also just super curious abt what happed between Zach and Aviva… SO MUCH potential there but alas we’ll probably never get an official explanation.
Smth to consider though.. do you think when Zach lost the other villains as business partners (maybe Paisley in particular) it felt like losing Aviva all over again
I genuinely forgot about the wolf hawks episode until your reblog and.
Goddamn that episode was weird 😭. Hated how the crew purposely humiliated and scared Zach just for the sole sake of bulling him.
Another thing I noticed from that episode, and from later seasons in general, is that Martin does a lot of the initiating of bullying. In Wolf Hawks, he literally DRAGS Zach through cactus while carrying him, and when Zach complains and screams in pain, Martin’s only response is a hearty chuckle and a “Oops my bad !! haha!”. It’s Gross to me. To me, it’s a bit out of character for the crew to stoop so low! Like yes! Zach’s annoying! But why are they stooping so low?
some rambles/character analysis on Martin:

Just. AUGH. Martin gives off that vibe that he cares SO much. He’s highly emotional and empathetic. Say whatever you want about him, he’ll brush it off, but the moment you hurt anything that’s dear to him? Like his friends, family, and animals? It’s suddenly very personal. Which is what I’m using to explain just WHY Martin out of the whole crew is the one initiating a lot of the cruel behavior against Zach. At least, that’s just how I’m viewing it. After all, there’s truly no real reason besides Comedic Relief, as this is a kids show and isn’t that deep. But what if it Was that deep.
But yes. I HATE how they’ve kind of subjected Zach’s character as nothing other than comedic relief, especially the later the seasons get. I often like to view the villains as personified problems in the real world actually. Donita is animal use in fashion, Gourmand is poaching, Paisley WAS deforestation, and Zach is animal testing. Like they personify very real problems that animals face, and the heroes combat against that. I understand that it is a kids show though, so there’s a lot of serious territory they won’t cross, but it feels like the potential of these characters in what the represent aren’t being explored to me.
Plus Zach feels more or less as like the golden boy villain they just place for comedic relief and slap stick humor. He COULD represent more issues and shed light onto those problems for children to acknowledge and go “wow that’s fucked up!”, but alas, he’s just more of a pathetic wet towel of a man who’s more or less annoying to have on screen, not really representing much of anything besides being a nuisance. Which, don’t get me wrong. I love Zach. I just think there’s a lot of wasted potential with the villains. I do, however, think it’s funny to at least go, wow so he just fucks with the crew on purpose for the sole purpose of being annoying. Which is funny. But still! But it feels like he’s just. Not really doing his part. He’s just stealing Aviva’s shit most of the time. Being a nuisance. Instead of being Aviva’s character foil as an inventor, how his tech is the opposite of hers. I really wish they’d explore more between Aviva and Zach in general though. But again! Why is Zach just, stealing stuff most of the time? I understand they don’t want to show animal cruelty all the time on screen, but then it’s not really Zach’s character anymore in what he is. The last really good season for Zach was like Season 1! But! Season 7 has been showing potential in going back to its roots, which I appreciate.
Not to mention! It seems within season 7 especially, but just the later seasons, that the other villains begin to really DESPISE Zach. Which is interesting in of itself. But again, as the main premise of the show is animal education, I believe this is an area that won’t be explored outside of fandom. Which is okay! I just love exploring this world so much. There’s a lot to work with!
But again. Yeah. I don’t like the episode Wolf Hawks for that reason. I understand the karma Zach faces but it feels like the crew is being unnecessarily Cruel for being the heroes. It’s both understandable as it is unwarranted. Plus it feels a little odd that we’re showing kids “Stoop to their level and Worse!”. Which is exactly what a lot get out of it. I work with kids. I know. LMAO. idk. this is a lot of yapping and being too deep about a kids show.
SORRY THIS IS A LOT AND ALL OVER THE PLACE LMAOOO. i have so much to say about this show all the time. feel free to ask more :D

Yknow, I like the wolf hawks ep bc it’s one of the few times the girls get to use their suits, and it reinforces the “pack” behaviour that the birds have that made Martin give them the nickname “wolf hawks”.
It’s kinda the theme of the ep. The brothers argue over what name is better, but they put aside their differences to work towards a common goal; that goal being to save animals from Zach.
How I see the bullying in that ep is further reinforcement of the pack theme they had going on. Zach is alone bc he pushed everyone away. In a lot of instances, the crew tries to reason with him, even save him from dangerous situations, but he never does anything in return or tries to see from their perspective, so it makes sense that they eventually give up on that.
This is the hole he’s dug for himself. You can even see that in s7 now, where he shows up by himself more often instead of working with other villains. I’d even argue his bots are another symbol in this theme. He talks to them like they’re his friends, which they are. He doesn’t have anyone else, since his short tempter and immaturity gets in the way. His robots also consistently have a hard time following his instructions; he can’t program cooperation if it’s something he lacks knowledge in.
Is the stuff that the crew puts Zach through in that ep weirdly bitter and out of character for them? Yes, I can see that perspective. But I also think it’s a culmination of years worth of rivalry and frustration that eventually released. Moral wise, I would agree that it’s probably not the best for a kid’s show. My personal hc is that the side effects of the suits are starting to hit; animals usually tend to solve things by fights anyhow.
About his wasted potential, I also agree. He could be SO much more of a threat, all the villains can. But the focus of the show is animal education, not worldbuilding. Since every episode can only take up so much time, there’s limits to what they can do. I don’t doubt they could do it, and I def wish they would, but the show just has a different priority in mind.
I do like the interpretation of Martin’s character. Seems fitting for his show persona; protective and can let his emotions get the better of him sometimes. I like exploring that side of him in my art, I think it’s fun to play with.
In general, I agree with what you guys are saying. The show kinda has a good foundation for more to build on, but they don’t do it so we gotta do it ourselves 💀
