Audio Elk in 2025
Another year come and gone, and I find myself thinking about what goals I have for my audio work for this year. I’ve had many project ideas on hold last year as I worked through some IRL business, including the creation of more audio assets to put on my store page (both free and paid ideas).
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s look back on last year first. 2024 was a surprisingly productive year from me, even though it may not have looked like it if you followed me on Twitter or BlueSky. Over the course of the year I released 3 sound libraries: The lewd props library, a free footsteps library, and a free ambiance library. I also released additional updates to both those free libraries, adding additional sounds to each.
I’ve also been keeping busy with commission work, though I’ve taken much less work now that I’ve been busy with my job. I haven’t posted anything, and probably won’t. I’m starting to prefer letting the commissioner/creator post the final result and (generally) reserving posts on my accounts for my own projects or updates. I’ll probably still post a commission here and there, but I’m slowly moving away from it. I am still keeping my NSFW archive up to date, so you can also find all my public work posted over at https://nsfw.audioelk.com
Now, onto some updates!
Sound Library Updates
I’ve made some updates to my store, including dropping the prices on all my libraries. I figure they’ve been out for a while and it was time for a proper pricing adjustment. You can view my store here to see the changes.
Additionally, I made an update to the licensing on my free sound libraries. Originally they were using the same license that I use for my paid libraries, but I decided that it would be simpler to move them into a creative commons license. This means that my free sound libraries are now licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 DEED. This is essentially a creative commons attribution license, which you can read the details on here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/
Commission Updates
I am currently closed for commissions as I try to readjust to a new routine, but I do plan on reopening next month. Keep an eye out for the announcement on BlueSky!
2025 Goals
This year I’m focusing on my own personal projects, but I do have a few goals for Audio Elk this year:
- Continue working on commissions - Release a proof of concept for a personal project I’m working on. - Release a new free sound library (Foley related) - Release updates to the free ambiance and footsteps libraries
If you’re interested in following my non audio related goals, feel free to follow me on my personal BlueSky: @DeckardHoliday.com
That’s pretty much everything for Audio Elk this year. Keep an eye out on my BlueSky page for updates on commission status and other projects. Let’s make this a kick ass year!

Belated Mid-Year Review
How is it September already? It genuinely feels like we should still be coming out of winter, yet fall is just around the corner! Time really flies. I have been meaning to post a general progress overview for months now. I have half written drafts dating back to May. Better late than never I suppose. This year has been, overall, a good year for me so far, yet I can’t help but feel I’m incredibly behind in everything I’ve wanted to do this year. It’s a never ending battle for me to actually look back and be happy with the work I’ve gotten done. This year has been one of my better years, I think. To give a quick summary of what Audio Elk has gotten done this year:
I released a new paid sound library, Lewd Props, which (in my opinion) has some of the best foley recordings I’ve done in a long time.
I released two free sound libraries, a footsteps library and an ambiance library, onto Itch.io, along with providing additional free updates to both a few months after release.
I’ve been working with a furry Game Dev doing creature sound design for their project (one creature is nearing complete!)
I launched my new website earlier in the year (and, naturally, have already begun working on a new design…)
I’ve done a commission or two here and there as well, as long as the occasional audio pass just for fun. All in all a better year than I remember it being so far. I’ve fallen behind on some of my other projects, mostly as a result of a long struggle with the ability to focus and reset my brain after work. I’ve gotten back into writing again, and am working on a few short stories that I’d love to share eventually. I’m also in an on again off again process of restructuring the book I wrote last year into a story I’d be happy with putting out there. I’m also working on scripts for my audio drama projects again. Currently in talks with a voice actor to produce my ‘proof of concept’ script, and I’m really starting to feel that creative juice flowing again. No promises on when the short stories will be done, but I’m hoping to have this proof of concept out by the end of the year, assuming no unexpected barriers appear. I will prepare another update as projects near completion, so I can provide a proper announcement when the time comes. Until then, I hope the fall season treats you well, and if I don’t post again by then, have a Happy Halloween!

Happy New Year!
Happy 2024 everyone! I hope you all had a relaxing holiday. I was sick for most of mine but otherwise it was swell.
I have many projects I plan to dive into this year, so expect more regular updates on my various social sites as they develop! I'm aiming to work on my own things more and lean off the NSFW projects. I will still be doing the commissions as they come in, but my main goal for this year is to release my own audio work, writing, and whatever other projects I choose to dive into. I started Audio Elk because I wanted to dive into regular audio work which, at the time, consisted of doing NSFW audio passes on various furry animations. These projects pushed me to record and edit regularly, not to mention actually push myself to release a finished project every week for a while. During this time I met and worked with many wonderful creators, and I got to work on some pretty fun things! During that time I had an idea for a large scale project I wanted to toy with: an audio drama. I wrote up a large brainstorm and consulted some friends for ideas and feedback, even have art of two major characters, but haven't given it the love and attention I need to for it to flourish. Last year I participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and forced myself to write a 50k word story with these characters in mind, and in the process fell back in love with the idea. This year I'm going to be pushing myself to develop this project into something for everyone to read/hear. I will still be doing audio commissions as they come in, I'm not stepping away from the NSFW side entirely! I also have my NSFW prop sound library in the works and have some time scheduled this month to finish recording what I need for it. I want to release that by March at the latest. I don't regret a single bit of the work I've done over the years, but it's time to really focus on my projects. I don't have any set release dates for anything yet, but have my own internal writing/creation goals that I'm working towards, and will announce things as they approach the finish line. Hope everyone's 2024 goes great! Here's to an exciting new year!

Updates!
Hello everyone, wanted to post a few updates before Halloween!
New Website is Live!
The new website is finally live! I still have work to do on my portfolio page, but I decided to finally push through and cleanup what needed to be cleaned up to get it pushed up. You can view the new site at www.audioelk.com . Otherwise, if you're reading this on the site, welcome! Hope you enjoy!
Sound Library Update!
I decided to go ahead and get recording on more sound libraries. The next one in progress is that 'Lewd Prop' library I had wanted to do. I think I have a good idea how to approach recording this one, and I'm excited to get into it.
Other Projects!
I'm pushing myself to work on my other projects more regularly. I've started doing daily freewriting activities to get in the writing habit, and I'm starting to get back into my field recording and other audio project work. I'm hoping to have a new audio project release monthly, so more details on that when they get closer to release! That's all for now, have a happy Halloween everyone!

Fall’s is Here and I Haven’t Gotten Anything Done
Happy Fall everyone. Things have been rocky here in terms of any project work. Not long after settling into things I ended up getting sick, and I’m still battling the lingering cough here. I still wanted to post an update because some priorities have shifted around that I wanted to let y’all know about.
New Sound Libraries on Hold
While I was sick, I was doing some test recording in my recording closet here at the house, and unfortunately, it’s not any better than my old space, which wasn’t good enough to record quieter noise sources. Various recordings in my older libraries you may know have a relatively high noise floor throughout, and I don’t think there’s any reason to record further libraries until that issue is resolved, and I don’t want to diminish the quality of the recording through noise removal processing if I can avoid it. So, for now, while I troubleshoot and figure out a solution to this, I have put all library recording material on hold.
What's in the Works?
Recently there was a whole debacle over Unity’s attempt to squeeze more money out of their developer base, but it got me to finally give Godot a try. From poking around again in game audio development I decided that I’d like to finally dive into developing various game audio tools that creators can easily integrate into their projects. I started working on a basic audio toolset for Godot that I’m hoping to release, for free, before the end of the year. I’ll provide more information on this once it’s further along, but I plan on going from this project into a similar toolset for Unreal Engine.
And the Rest
My website is 99.99999% finished. I even have a test deployment up and running to finalize some things, so I’m going to get that finished this month so I can finally be done with it. I’ve also been doing various commission work that you may have seen pop up across various platforms. I intend to continue doing commissions, but may cut back to only 2 or 3 max per month so I can focus on my other projects. I’ve been very bad about focusing down the writing projects I have in the works, so I’m working on a scheduling method that I want to stick to and get things moving again.
Also, in regard to streaming, I ended up deciding not to focus on it for the time being. I’d like to eventually do a weekly audio stream, but with everything else I’m trying to get into a rhythm with, I’d rather focus on those first. In the meantime, I’ll stay active on the various sites you can find me on (outside of twitter, which is really only going to be used for project updates from now on). I may also use Tumblr to post various thoughts on audio related topics. It may help me get into the habit of writing more regularly, but we’ll see. I’ll definitely share links around if I do!
In the meantime, I hope you all enjoy October. Go get spooky!

Update: Denver’s Almost Here!
Hey everyone, I wanted to get another update written up for y’all before I move. I have a few things I want to bring up about my plans with Audio Elk once I get settled in Denver, so let’s get started!
AUDIO ELK SURVEY
If you’ve ever commissioned or purchased sound libraries from me I want to hear from you! I created a google form for you to fill out.  Shouldn’t take very long, but I would really appreciate it! Fill out a survey here: https://forms.gle/ZX3X8L9PSAMVRM289
In the survey at the end is an optional review section that you can fill out if you’d like to give me permission to use your review on my new website! Otherwise, it’s a fairly standard review form. I would love to hear from you!
AUDIO ELK WEBSITE (Again)
The website is almost completed! I just have to clean up the mobile layout, finish editing some portfolio reels, and then finalize some testing before deploying! I’m hoping to get it out before I move, but realistically I’m probably going to launch it after I am settled in Denver.
COMMISSIONS
While I’ve been prepping for my move I’ve had my commissions closed. Once I settle in at the new place I will reopen my commissions like I normally do, and should be able to work a lot faster!
Post Move Plans
I plan on diving back into a lot of audio work once I finish moving and get set up my studio space. I want to kick it into gear on my library recordings and toolset creations for all y’all. I’ll be getting to work on a lewd props library which will have a lot of fun recordings of dildos, fleshlights, fuck machines and more!
I’m also planning on doing a weekly stream where I work on various audio projects. My plan right now is to stream every Sunday afternoon, but the specific day may change based on when people like to watch. I’m considering streaming the setup process of building out my recording closet once I move in, but we’ll see how I feel once I’m there.
Audio Discord
I started an “Audio Furs” discord! I know there are a lot of music ones out there, but I couldn’t really find an all-encompassing ‘audio engineering furry’ discord so I went ahead and made one. This is for audio furs from all aspects of the industry, so if you’re a voice actor, sound editor, recording engineer, mixing/mastering engineer, acoustics engineer, live sound engineer, or anything related to audio, feel free to drop in! I’d love to build it out and have a diversity of audio folk. Discord Link: https://discord.gg/nRnNFHCRpw That should be everything for now! I’ll post another update after I’ve moved, and perhaps will get a stream in to build the recording closet out. I’ll keep ya posted!

It's Been a While...
Sooooo yea... it's been a while. I planned on having more work out in the world by this point, but time got away from me! Figured I'd post an update on things in the meantime!
Website Update
I had originally planned on having my website launched by early March, but ran into a few technical issues that I haven't fully decided on an easy solution yet. I have a temporary workaround that might be the permanent solution, but it's a bit janky so I'm thinking about an alternate solution potentially. To get the site launched I'll be sticking to the janky solution for now though. I'm quiet behind on the project, but for now my current site still does the job. I'm hoping to get this site out before I move (est. July). Will update everyone as things develop.
New Sound Libraries Delayed
I originally planned on releasing a sound library last month, but between my IRL job, commission work, and figuring out my move to Colorado, finding time to record and edit a new sound library just hasn't been on the top of my priority list. I'd like to get something out before I move, but I may not get back into library recording until after the move.
My Side Project
I've had a side project that's been kicking around in the background for several years now that I'm finally starting to take seriously. I've been writing a little bit for it every night, and my goal is that once I move and get settled I'll be able to share more!
That's all for now. I'll be more consistent with these posts in the future (I've started setting reminders every other Sunday). I want these updates to be a bit shorter, and would like to switch off between updates and mini Q&A/Info posts about audio related things. For now I'll aim to keep consistent with my bi-weekly posts :P
Take care all! -Deckard

February Update
Hey everyone, I took a general break from audio work last month, but now that February is well underway I wanted to provide an update on my commission status and a few other things!
I'm am open for commission work once again! I was originally going to wait until after Valentine's day, but figured I might as well dive in now and save up some funds for my move to Denver later this year. View My Services Here! Submit a Commission Form Here!
New Website Status
I'm still plugging away on my new website. I'm hoping to have it launch by the end of the month, but early March at the latest! Some new features of the site:
Directly request commissions right from the services page!
View all my blog posts from Tumblr directly on my site!
Shop all my itch.io products directly on the site!
Commissioner Tools
I'm looking to slowly move away from relying on Google Drive for storing commission requests, and I'm currently building a tool that will hopefully make it easier for my commissioners and me to manage comms without having to send links back and forth. Whether or not that comes to fruition remains to be seen, but I am well underway on that project as well! When I launch my updated website I'm hoping to have more updates on this project.
That's everything for now. If you're interested in an audio commission please don't hesitate to reach out!

AudioElk Year in Review, and Looking Forward
I know 2022 has been a wild year for many people, me included! I'd like to take a moment to reflect and organize my thoughts and plans for 2023. This year was a good year for AudioElk, all things considered! I completed ~25 commissions (with a couple extending through to next year), released one new sound library, and made good progress on my game audio work! Overall I'm pleased to be getting commissions fairly regularly and that people still keep me in mind for projects! <3 IRL My life has pretty drastically changed for the better. Near the end of October I received a proper job offer for a work from home developer position that I accepted, and I've really been enjoying the job and the people. Most importantly this has (hopefully) been my last working in retail, and I am now making enough money to save up and get my own place! All in all I feel incredible when I reflect on how my new job changed my life these past few months. I'm eating better (with the occasional Taco Bell run still in play of course), I'm working out again, and I'm overall far less stressed than I used to be. That being said, I've made many plans for myself in 2023 and wanted to share some with you that are in the works currently!

Tumblr media
AudioElk Logo Refresh
AudioElk's branding is getting a facelift! The new logos are already completed and ready to go (Big shoutout to WachiPup who created both the original AudioElk logos and my new logos! You can see the new logo above! Wachi created many individual assets for me to use in my refresh, and I can't wait for you to see them all!
New Website
I have been hard at work on the new AudioElk website. I will be dropping the wordpress site and replacing it with this new one upon completion, but there are some exciting changes coming with my site, including the ability to submit a commission request directly on the site instead of going through a google form!
Focus for 2023
AudioElk has primarily been known for NSFW audio related work, mostly between the audio work I've done for animations and the sound libraries I've released over on Itch.io. In 2023 I'm going to be focusing mostly on my own projects and expanding into other services. This doesn't mean that I won't be doing any nsfw audio work, but I'd like to focus more outside that sphere for next year. Hopefully there will be more in that regard next year. This post is getting stupid long but I"ll be making weekly posts starting tomorrow, So look forward to that! Hope everyone has a great 2023!
