🚨 West Virginia prosecutors will now charge women with felonies for having miscarriages - starting at just nine weeks pregnant.

They're calling it prosecuting an "involuntary abortion," which is a pretty twisted way to criminalize something that happens to roughly 20% of all pregnancies. But here's the really dystopian part - they're going to decide whether to press charges based on how you *felt* about your pregnancy.

According to Raleigh County Prosecutor Tom Truman, if you ever said something like "I'd rather get run over by a bus than have this baby," that could be used against you in court. Because apparently expressing ambivalence about an unplanned pregnancy is now evidence of criminal intent.

The charges depend on a prosecutor's interpretation of your emotional state, how you disposed of fetal remains, and whether you seemed "emotionally distraught" enough. Women could face felonies for flushing, burying, or otherwise handling remains from what is often a traumatic medical event.

State law doesn't even require women to notify authorities when they miscarry. So they've created a legal trap where you're not required to report something, but if you handle it wrong - or said the wrong thing at the wrong time - you could end up with a felony record.

We're literally criminalizing grief and trauma. Women who lose wanted pregnancies will now have to worry about whether their emotional reactions pass some prosecutor's purity test.
