Sex and Gender

I've heard that sex and gender are different things. That your sex can be generally determined by physical characteristics of your body, like chromosomes and penises. While gender is your instinctual identity that feels right.

A transgendered person has a gender that doesn't match their body while a transsexual person has changed their body to match their gender.

Biological sex seems largely irrelevant and a poor predictor of behavior. However sex is a lot more objective to detect than gender. Much like race, just because it's a simple way to group people does not mean it's a good way to group people.

I know the folks in the soft sciences don't like objective measurements because they get in the way of their social-hierarchy method of determining whose theory is right. I get the impression the concept of biological sex was thrown out a while ago and anyone with a research paper mentioning it will lose all their friends.

The problem I'm facing is that I'm an engineer and I need an objective way of diagnosing my 8 year old daughter's gender identity. I figure if hormone therapy is the right move I'll see it coming a mile away and I defiantly want to get it for her.

I've heard that if she likes to stand on the toilet to pee it's a pretty good indication she's trans. I'm guessing her obsession with pregnancy, birth and baby razing in her make-believe games is not a typical of transman behavior. Obviously self-diagnosis is a bad idea and I would hire a professional psychologist to make the final call.

Still, can any transman here list behaviors they did as a kid which a parent may want to be on the lookout for?

This is very frustrating. I just had a private message conversation with a person I met on Tumblr. Her name is @outcast123. I was hopeful about a new friendship.

Now I'm almost certain she is a Nigerian scammer. Tumblr can be a lot of fun but damn this is frustrating.

Finding genuine human interaction on the modern Internet is hard.

Things are tricky at the moment. I have financial issues to worry about but who doesn't.

I try to be happy.

they're nocturnal and tend to roam around while awake.

they have keen senses of smell and hearing, but terrible eyesight. despite this, they also have a tapetum lucidum, making their pupils "glow" in the dark.

their fur is short, dense, and oily to waterproof them.

they prefer a diet of mostly meat and are attracted to strong-smelling food like fish, cheese, and anything fermented.

the elongated dewclaw on each front paw is sharp, flexible, and nonretractable. it injects a venom that causes respiratory failure and cardiac arrest in prey and, in extreme doses, humans. veterenarians typically remove the dewclaw venom glands during the neuter/spay procedure.

they grow to an average of 1m and 23kg (3ft and 50lb) but can reach up to double that length and triple the weight!

Hi this is the bhsystem, a recovering DID system of around 16 alters.

We are 18 years old, professionally diagnosed with DID if you’re someone who cares, and also have ASD, OCD, and some others. We are a college student struggling and trying to make adulthood work.

He/him pronouns are preferred, and we ID as male irl. Some alters may have other pronouns, if they care to mention them please only use those pronouns when talking about that alter alone.

A lot of us have an interest in psychology (our major), social justice issues, and “deep” subjects. Our lifelong special interest is cats, other than that interests pretty much depend on the alter.
